THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Is there a way to bin new hair/meshes that you've downloaded from a site? I get annoyed when I'm looking for brown hair and I have to go into the custom stuff to find the new meshes. Some folks bin their stuff right, but others I guess don't know how. I would appreciate any help. Cheesy

I love the colour binning tool.
I spent two weeks binning all my hair manually before the plugin.  With the pluging, I re-did all the hairs in a few hours (this is about 1GB of hair) and removed all useless files and ages (no more 500 identical toddler hairs!).

I've been using it in my drive to reorganize my custom content. I've screwed up using it a couple of times (not understanding how to deal with elder hair and the unecessary toddler/child hair thing), but for the most part it's really really handy.

The hair binning tool does work great; although it does bother my order-freak side that I can't safely delete the useless bits (as opposed to simply disabling them).

Can it do a similar job on my unruly eyebrow bins? I hadn't tried. (For some reason, all custom eyebrows show up in all bins for me, and that gets real confusing real quick.)

EDIT: Hmm...the tool's description would seem to indicate that it will do just that. (Reading is fundamental!) Looking forward to giving it a go later.

*nods* Yeah I have noticed that. My problem is my downloads folder s'ploded not to long ago so I don't always have a color for each eyebrow style...

Then again, none of that matter anyways as my entire computer sploded. So I can't even boot up the pc to whine about the custom eyebrows....

It's otay. What upsets me the most is that I had made a backup of all my sims stuff and was booting up the PC to burn them onto a CD when it went boom.

So mad.

Maybe the place I take the PC to can restore that backup for me.

After you do a few of them (and more than likely mess a few up) you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

It is an awesome tool to have!

You can.  Just check the "remove unused textures" box in options.
That's saved me hundreds of megabytes of space, and god knows how much loading time.

I've colourbinned all my downloaded eyebrows and beards using the same plug-in.

Well, I'll have to give that a go. I had been afraid to try that option, since Theo's instructions for that part of the tool basically say "don't check this box". But if it hasn't turned any of your hair into a big fiery ball...

Well, that box does DELETE unused textures.  Unless you keep a backup, those textures are gone forever.  If you don't want that, then don't check the box.
Personally, I don't mourn the loss of all those bald toddler hairs or multiple greys.
