yes, someone other then maxis did the invisible rug, though i think its more of just a non-display thing then anything you can count as a hack. and the hole in the ground was great. did you realize that was an exact duplicate of the one from the movie bettlejuice?

Didn't realise that,
I'm pretty sure Heather Castillo made the rug, and it was up for download at SimFreaks 1, and would have counted as one of her hacked objects.

i guess its how you define it. yeah it may very well be from simfreaks, i used to have a constant subscription there. anyway i usually define a hack as something that changes the code. so i see it more as a recolor, or uncolor. dont get me wrong, its incredibly nifty, just a matter of semantics.

Well, a one tile rug wouldn't do much for room score, so it had to be a hacked object that was recoloured to be invisible.
But the thing in Sims 1 that did most for room score was when you used Rug-o-Matic to make rugs!

Oh, it was a tool which anyone could use to make rugs! I loved it, it was the only time I've ever been able to make anything for my game except framing the odd picture.

i got into some recolors and mild graphics changes on sims1 finally, they are also under verdaeni in tsr. the height of my ability was building a loveseat to match a three square couch. but i havent gotten around to it yet for sims2. i also did a lot of pictures with that special tool in sims1. really i need to spend some time grasping the new form of simpe and start recoloring. i also suffer from the 82159 graphics chip and cant do bodyshop, and i tried the old bodyshop but it is so limited, i must be doing something wrong. people keep telling me they've gotten it to do all sorts of things but its pretty limp for me!

I never had any luck with it. And I can't get anywhere with any paint programs - it's just too confusing for me to grasp them, and the free ones are impossible!

paint shop pro is pretty simple if you skip all the advanced stuff. i was only using maybe 5% of its capabilities for recolors but it was all i needed. if you get it, i could walk you through it.

I've tried that before, but I can't really spare the cash to buy it, thanks all the same. Also, you know, I have so much in my downloads folders already - and far better than I could do!
I appreciate the offer, though.

I could probably do the same through Amazon, but I honestly don't really want to get into object recolouring, and I know I'd never have the ability to make meshes - but if I change my mind - which I frequently do - I'll let you know. (I did try for quite a while to get the hang of the sims1 Tmog, but I never got beyond a very basic understanding so that I could occasionally correct something faulty in a download.

i think i tried amazon and they didnt have the older versions available. i dont do a LOT of recoloring, you can see my old stuff on tsr. other then different colors of the vine flowers i just did stuff to match sets. i get a little neurotic about matching sets. right now i want to make recolors of the auto blinds that move themselves open and shut. im really glad that washing machines and disposals go into the cabinets now. and someone came up with larger empty pots you can use so you dont have to have fifteen pot recolors of every plant. the other thing i need is they have this whole set of bathroom stuff at tsr that takes the colors from the same place so you get trashcan, bathroom rug, towels, and the soapdishes for counter and wall. and raveena? did some of them with the cute feet and hands on them and they have the matching scale too but we need more colors... i should try to remember that ts1 site, carrot something? that specialized in recolors. i wonder if she is doing sims2 stuff now.

She was when I was last at TSR, but then I think only recolours. Her build mode stuff for sims 1 was excellent, though, so maybe she'll be making her own meshes by now.
Have you got Ignorant Bliss's Victorian Drapes? They will pull the bedding fabrics so you can match every bed in your house to the curtains - and she's made them in double wide too!

msb? the one with the curved furniture sets on tsr has a whole set that matches bedding. and someone else made a swag that matches crib bedding. i'll check that site out you mentioned though. im into a lot of decoration. in some of my victorian house with the octagonal areas i have filmly drapes put on regular with the regular drapes snap grid off to sit just in front of them. it looks REALLY nice. in bathrooms i tend to put the blinds behind curtains. but those auto moving curtains are just so cool...

the vase of flowers is still working for me with all expansion packs. if you mean the lady in red paintings, there are a how bunch of them. if you mean you are tried of staring at what seems to be the same painting, you can always use moveobjects on and put another painting just barely in front of it
OK will try the ingelogical vase again. Maybe get a new copy off Nectere's site. There are a bunch or different paintings for 2jeffs visitor controller, but the change clothes painting from FatD(?) doesn't have any recolours. Unless s/he's updated, I'll have a look in Peasantry, I don't know where s/he's hosted.
