Quick question about Want To Be Saved From Death
« on: 2006 May 02, 03:55:46 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Does this Want only get achieved if your sim successfully pleads with the Grim Reaper? Or is it ok to call him later & resurrect?

Just wondering if it's possible to achieve this through cowplanting - as the Grim Reaper doesn't turn up for cowplant deaths, does he?

Use the Voodoo Bottle of Carrigon, kill the sim by hunger, and let the mate plea for him. It always works  for me.

I'm very sure that the sim has to pleaded for, and not resurrected.

Lythdan is correct - being saved from death is not satisfied by being resurrected.  As far as I can see, a sim gets no memories of being killed and resurrected, only when someone successfully pleads for them

Yes, being resurrected doesn't count, I don't think, because the sim actually dies.  When a sim pleads with the Grim Reaper and succeeds, the sim never actually dies and gets a tombstone.  Therefore, the sim is "saved" from death.  I think this also has to do with the fact that this want has been around since the base game, and it wasn't until Uni came out that we could resurrect sims.

Is pleading possible if the sim dies of old age?  I never am able to actually "click" on the Grim Reaper.  (And I rarely let my sims die of anything else)

No, death from old age is the only one you can't plead for.  And you really can't plead for death from drowning although the action is available, but you have to be able to reach the Grim Reaper in order to plead with him/her.  Once I had a sim die in the bathroom, and although I clicked "Plead for Loved One," my sim couldn't get through the door past the sim curled up on the floor to get to the Grim Reaper!
