Changing haircolor genetically with Sim PE

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

How do I, using Sim PE, change a Sim's hair color into some other color so they'll be able to pass it on to future generations? I know how to change their appearance, yes, but I know that this is basically the equivalent to "dying" their hair genetically. You see, I want to change a Sim's natural hair color to black so his kids could have black hair instead of brown. I heard this can be done, but I couldn't find any sort of straight tutorial about it. Anyone have any idea?

Bring the Sim up in the Sim Browser, then click on the DNA link. The line in the left panel that reads "1 (dt String )" is the expressed hair colour.  This should show as 00000002-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 for someone with brown hair.  Change the 2 to a 1 so he expresses black hair.  The string underneath (268435467 (dt String)) is the recessive hair colour, which can also be passed on, so change that to black also.  To change them, highlight them, change in the box on the right, then click commit and save.  That's it.

I do have a tutorial over the BBS if you would like to see screen shots.  If so you will find it here however it is exactly as Ancient Sim describes Smiley

There's also another thread I found on changing DNA at the SimPE forum that you can reference. There are no screenshots though. Here's the link:

Thank you very much, all of you. I'll bookmark the links just in case I want to change a Sims DNA again.
