Crap!  She's on to me!

My favorite not-so-duh Website is the infamous WhiteHouse.com, causing third graders' eyes to pop out since 1986.

(Ever heard of pickled pig's feet?)
That  DOES sound appalling. I mean, PICKLED pigs feet? That sounds terrible. Pigs' feet must be eaten while they're still FRESH.

Grits are yummy, especially with plenty of butter and pepper.  Grin

My stepsister came from Long Island NY and I'm from Georgia. We'd constantly debate the "correct" terminology--she'd get on line at McDonalds and I'd get IN line at McD's and online on my computer .  Wink

Terry Pratchett has a recipe for Strawberry Wobbler in Nanny Ogg's Cookbook which sounds really interesting, though the publishers made her take some of the ingredients out...

And it wasn't the actual planet earth publishers that made him take it out.  Wink It was the Discworld ones, added for comedic effect. After all, I doubt Earth has the ingredients that Nanny Ogg would consider 'exciting' and the discworld publishers call 'dangerous'.

(Also, wasn't it the chocolate dessert, and not Strawberry Wobbler? The editor's note on the Wobbler is a note about the moulds she recommended, not ingredients...)

Sorry, I meant the discworld publishers made Nanny Ogg take some of the ingredients out. So it was 'she', but not terribly comprehensibly...

As for the rest, you're dead right, it was the unavailable moulds for the strawberry wobbler that was the problem. They settled for champagne flutes in the end. The Chocolate Delight with Special Secret Sauce was indeed the more dangerous food item. I can only plead Alzheimers.

It was the Spotted Dick which made me think of Nanny Ogg.  Cool

Actually Terry is both male & female. I know a female Terry who spells it Terry.

I'm not southern, but I've had grits. My dad used to eat them for breakfast a lot. Still likes them. He was an army brat, and I'm a coast guard brat, so neither of us really have a region of origin, but I guess his liking them might be because his parents are from the midwest.

They're not bad. One of the few breakfast foods I'll eat.

On the Coast Guard brat thing: moving every four years, you get to learn a whole new set of regional slang and cultural stuffs every time. Fun. Although the Coast Guard mostly stations its people on the coasts (gee, I never would have guessed) and coastal areas in general usually aren't as different as the midwest is from the northwest is from the southeast. Although people who have never lived in Northern California confuse it with Southern Californian culture, which is rather humorous, since they're different in a lot of ways.

Many male names are given to females. That doesn't make them female names, it just shows the gender preference of the parents. Must be fun growing up with a name like that, you might as well call your daughter "Wish you were a boy".

Could be worse. Could be the other way around.

And why would that be worse?

PS If a female has a name, then it is a female's name, is it not?
