I plan on waiting until my mods are at least up to date this time, I am enjoying my current family line, on the 7th generation so far.

Arred it a few days ago, so I've had some time to get to grips with it. I'm actually enjoying the future, and I love how efficient everything is. I don't have to waste time getting around, or cooking, cleaning etc. The wasteland has a nice Tatooine vibe (and check out who's living there). They even made a Futurama household.

Haven't noticed any real glitches regarding the new content. My loading times are much longer since installing the EP though (except for travelling, which seems to have improved). Also all the descendants seem to be fat puddings, although I'm sure that's a feature.

I like the Time Traveller, but I think I would have preferred a Doctor Who vibe than a Back to the Future vibe. The opportunity to get the wormhole came up a few sim minutes after loading, which is good.
The interactive loading screens let you accrue lifetime happiness points for the active household.

Edit: The future looks purty. Also because my sim only has §600 to his name, his future descendants are also destitute. Though it is good to see with wizard genes carrying on.
  • The future has new bugs, they look pretty cool.
  • A new digsite is available in the wasteland
    • There are new crystal flowers that you can charge - I have no idea what they do yet.

    Nanite bugs:

Am I the only one having trouble moving around in OL? It's such a damn hassle, the jetpack, the hoverboard, taxi, hover train etc. I figured that since the sims are able to wear a jetpack they'll be able to fly everywhere. That is not the case. I constantly have to switch between the jetpack and the hoverboard and if I'm not careful the sim chooses the public transportation which is a hoverboard/taxi/hovertrain nightmare.

I'm also disappointed that the cleaning chip you unlock for the bots doesn't give the bot the option to "clean house" like the neat trait does for regular sims. So I still have to queue up everything that needs to be done manually. #fail!  Angry

If anyone finds some red dwarf (uk version) stuff in there, I'm getting this ep.

The fact that it lacks Doctor Who disturbs me greatly.

I agree with the Doctor Who things, they did add a reference to it in Supernatural (a couple of items here and there, including the LLAMA). I am hoping they added some red dwarf, but something tells me it's doubtable considering it didn't take off in the US as much as it did every where else Sad

So wait the cleaning chip isn't like having a neat sim so the bots can only clean if you manually tell them what to clean? That sucks I thought it would be click on the floor and have them clean the house. Undecided

I can't even travel to the future. My sim just kind of inspects the portal forever.

Well, I presume it's forever, since I watched her inspect it for 15 minutes straight on the highest speed before deciding that probably wasn't suppose to happen.

You can click the bot and ask it to clean and I believe they'll clean everything that's dirty on the lot. They also clean stuff autonomously if you have free will on. I played with one with free will off and it didn't do anything until I direct it to. It would have been more convenient if I could simply click the floor and let it clean the house since I never have free will on when I'm playing big families.

That just seems like a pain. I have to have free will on with big families I can't control them otherwise because I have bigger families then normal household sizes.

My game is playing smoothly. One thing I do not like is that the game does not fast forward when only the bots are awake in the house. I wish the sims would use their cars unless we tell them to use the jetpacks or boards. I have one sim that boards all over town instead of using her car. I have a few glitches but overall it plays well, so far.

I think the world is quite beautiful, and much more than I expected.

You can tell them not to use the board or jetpack. Unless i am missing something...

I've hit an annoying bug trying to trigger the Dystopian future. I'm supposed to go around convincing six sims that the sky is falling, but no matter what I do, the option never appears. Googling shows that other people are experiencing this too. It's a shame, because otherwise I've mostly enjoying this expansion. The future is neat, I like the changing future of your descendents, and I really like having a robot nanny slave to raise the baby while my sims build more robots.

Anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to bypass opportunities/quests?

I've got a similar problem, I don't even have the option to convince sims about the sky falling etc, everytime I do tasks for Emit it's the same task over and over, which is to visit my descendants, then change the outcome of their future.

I cannot get my sims to inspect the portal either, I tell them to but the thought just goes away. The Portal comes to some households but nothing else happens.

I had problems with the inspect portal too, and eventually traced it down to the photography fix posted on these forums that I forgot about having. Its an XML file, which I understand is more apt to causing problems. In any event, removing it made my sims able to successfully inspect the portal and get Emit to come out.

I also recommend that you triple check for any NRAAS mod updates. I thought I had all the updates for the ones I use only to discover there had been another update for one that fixed an issue I wasted a ton of time trying to narrow down.

Finally, don't forget Shimrod's mods. Many of them need updates for this patch even if they didn't need one in the past and don't sound like they would have any connection to this packs activities.

Updating/removed mods from the three above sources solved the following problems I was having:

- Inspect portal never ends.
- When travel to future the game asks you where you want to live for the term like its a University.
- Emit doesn't consistently give sim the time travel almanac or offer the first opportunity to collect power cells. If he comes out and just stands there like a dork be sure you exit without saving because there is apparently no way to trigger it after that first inspection appearance.

Hope that's helpful to someone.

For fucks' sake people! Take your fucking mods out and start a new game. Add half your mods, if there are issues, remove them a half at a time until the problem is resolved. It's not fucking rocket surgery.

Have a similar supposedly idiot proof solution for those who did that, yet still can't get past the crash to desktop at the loading screen? I have zero custom content installed, all patched up, everything checking out. Except that it doesn't work.

Edit: Turns out there is a fix that I was not aware of, which Mim pointed at in another thread: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,22681.msg603188.html#msg603188
