Custom Content hiding place

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Where does EA hide their custom content? Due to some errors I'm going to have to reinstall the game and I want to save all the CC I have. I have copied the 'mods' folder and the saved game but EA puts their content somewhere else and I'm not sure where.

ETA: The error I'm getting when I try to start the game is: Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x6224dd27)

Any ideas would be appreciated immensely.  Grin

Yes.
The launcher bizarrely stores multiple files in a single file located at
C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache
and should this file not be present, none of them will  show up.
Its all or nothing, you can't just delete some of them.
Using 3viewer to install stuff gives you more control over this.

I only use the launcher to install 'free store stuff' and free stuff from TSR. The 'monkey installer' doesn't work on these for some reason. So I'll just copy the DCcache folder to the desktop and that should work, right?  Huh

I believe everything installed through the launcher gets saved in the DCBackup folder.

If you don't want to reinstall the items you already installed with the launcher don't delete DCCache. Removing it will take them all out.
