I do believe this update severely borked CAW, and yet to see how the game fares.

You haven't checked? Why was this post necessary?

No, as in i know this update has severely ruined CAW loading times, and reduces it to a pulp. The game loaded up fine, however, this patch is almost automatically bad news, what with 2 things "fixed"

CAW has been borked since birth.

The game itself loads faster for me than before the patch, fwiw.

I think they optimized loading a bit, both initially and in-game. When I go to a lot now, the sims on it are usually low quality and then eventually become regular, high quality. I have never seen this happen before the patch. As a result, things are consistently smooth instead of slowing down to load a lot and all the sims on it- seemingly because it's doing it gradually with sims, when before it would only gradually load the lot (with objects not popping into view or being devoid of texture for a little bit as the game streamed them).

In fact, I personally never saw a sim or a car in low LOD mode. They were always high LOD. But I've already noticed today alone that sims will enter into low LOD mode as they walk a certain distance away, and cars will do the same.

If this is true, this should be listed as one of their "fixes". Or at least fix some stuff before bloating the game with a bazillion more hot tubs.

I'm only installing the patch whenever AM requires it or when my copy expires. I hope it won't be for a very long time.

Until my copy of AM expires, my game is staying unpatched.

Well just found one very minor bug fix in the new patch, vampires are now properly centred when sleeping on their slabs. Bridgeport inventors, however, remain thoroughly borked when it comes to trying to build their first Simbot. Not sure if the Well Rested moodlet has been fixed, need to load a non-vampire family and test that.

The only real change I've noticed is the shortcut "rbbb off" now actually works, instead of all that tedious typing. Loading times remain the same; the lights are still borked; the el cheapo floors (basic or whatever they're called, under miscellaneous) still utilise the wrong footstep sounds and my sims still insist on spamming "ask to get in" in all posh bars and nightclubs. So much so, in fact, I've scrapped that LN hood and gone back to a hood that just works.

That's an AwesomeMod fix. I didn't detect any changes to the code there when updating, so it is likely still broken in base.
