THANKS THIS IS GREAT

When I try to click on geometric in CAS.
What do I do now?
If it is a simspack problem, where is it, how can I find it?
I downloaded a few, and some where not packages, easy to round up.

You're right, very helpful.
I can't even change style now, if the object I try to change, like a bed, has geometric pattern.
How can I find where the game stores the installed files?
Or alternatively, how can I delete what I downloaded, that is not in mods?

This is just a wild guess, but are you trying to say that you think you downloaded a borked recolored pattern from the Exchange?  Hell, is that even possible?  Borked mod, I can understand, but a recolor of a pattern?

Uh...reinstall? That would be my suggestion, since I can't really understand the real problem. Either some file has become corrupted, or you downloaded something bad. I guess. Maybe. Perhaps there is a Sims3 forum in your home language it would be better to ask the question at.

Yes, it must be something I downloaded, but probably something that was badly installed. I don't download from the exchange.
I tried using 3d viewer for the installation, but it keeps sending errors on installation, though last time it installed a few. But where? I deleted what it had not installed, and maybe a few it had from the download folder, are they essential there?
The launcher only shows what it installed, doesn't it?
I solved my problem, sort of, trying to do the 50% method with the files in the package folder, I had 15 of them, those I installed myself are in the patterns folder.
Well it doesn't crash if half is in the package folder, 2 in the probation folder, 6 in the test folder. If I lump them together again, crash.
How is that possible?

I don't think files in the probation folder get loaded, so one of those two files are probably causing the issue.

Yes, you're right, I found the problem file and deleted it. Good to know, thank you.
Questions: What is the use of the download folder? Is it just so the launcher can see the files it installed?
Where are the files that are installed?

Yes, it seems that the downloads folder is just for the launcher. I dump all textures into "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages". Since I'm a texture junkie, I have a shortcut on my desktop for it.
