Very nice. I love the acid yellow kitchen, and the yellow theming in general. It's not a colour I use much, but you've done it well. I hadn't thought of having a communal kitchen, but then my experience of communal living makes me wonder if you'd be macrotastically cleaning it all the time.

@ eevilcat: I don't have the stuff packs for this, which is a shame, as it looks just the sort of building I'd like.  Those fountains are such a great alternative to the faux baroque stuff I'm stuck with.

Wow. Thanks for the nice feedback jim and jesslla. I wasn't sure the yellow would go over so well. It's an unusual favorite color to have, but it always was and will be mine.

I didn't even do it on purpose, but if there is one thing that drives me insane, it's Eaxis walls and floors (I pretty much hate them all and with custom walls and floors it's not much better) and not matching (kitchen) appliances. Aaargh. That almost just leaves you with the K&B and IKEA stuff, wich comes in some interesting colors indeed.

I hope everything works as advertised.

Meh. I tried to keep the platforms first, but that was just too ugly. There is a residential and an apartments (2 units) version for download. Was built on an unleveld lot though. All EPs and SPs neccessary.

Are you using IE? IE doesn't like downloading .sims2pack files. Either download Firefox or another download manager.

Alternatively, birene could reupload zipped versions of the lots.

I created what I call a "halfway" house for my bad simmies.  It's like a regular house with extra bedrooms that all have a kitchenette and 3/4 bath in them.  The apt dwellers will use all the community stuff, but not the kitchen.  My playable will use it, and the landlord does the cleanup.

I added a rar to my post for those who have problems with the sims2packs.

I hadn't thought of communal kitchens either, until I saw Paladin's tini-tiny flop-house. Well, it's not like the totally empty communal areas of Eaxis premade apartments will give you any ideas.

I wanted to keep the platforms, so I built a castle. I tried to make it awesomespec.



Ground floor: entry, study with the One Desk, two rooms for vampires, kitchen, dining room, living room, torture chamber/body skilling, creativity skilling, lockable stairwell, two bathrooms and a half-bath.


Second floor: skilling area, bedrooms (one with double bed, three with single beds), nursery, four bathrooms.


The towers are empty, but there is a telescope on the roof.

Thanks, but I have almost nothing to choose from as I don't have any of the EAxis 'hoods installed. The only one I ever really played was Strangetown and that's long gone so I was hoping that someone else would step in.

YAY! Seems to have worked.
Sims2.com says it includes non-Maxis assets but I don't know how or why or what. I made this in a vanilla game. No CC installed at all.
I forgot to say that I have all EPs and SPs.

Lana, that's one hell of a rebuild.  I prefer daylighting for photos (use set hour cheat for daytime even in with no family), but the night time shots of this lot make it very creepy, very massive and imposing looking.  I also like the princess tower for aesthetics.
