ive looked as far as i can see, but cannot find anything... is there away i can get rid of the water with out rebuilding it?
maybe a boolprop or something...

It's not weird. It you build your basement below water level, it will be flooded.

This is especially true with BV. If your house with basement (or level below normal ground level) is at the same elevation as the beach, anything under that level is below the waterline. If you install a house with basement from your lots bin, if you want to avoid remodelling your terrain, ensure that such houses are placed at higher elevations.

If it's just a little bit under water, you can use "boolprop constrainfloorelevation false" to raise the whole house by a few clicks. You'll have to redo your stairs afterwards, and your roofs too I think. I've done this a couple times before. Start in your basement and raise the ground until it's above sea level. Level out the basement floor. That should raise the upper floors accordingly, but still level off each floor just to make sure. Then replace your modular stairs and roof.
If you're more than just a few clicks under water though, the house will look kind of silly raised that much. You can still try it though.

so really there isnt much different between having a beach lot and a normal lot... apart from waves... grr. good ol EAixs! well all good now... i moved the house up higher.
hopefully a fix or something comes out to fix this though. im picking when it comes to placement of my houses... hehe. all good now though. a "live-with-it" scenario.
cheers for the help.

Well, even on a residential beach lot the sims can go swimming in the ocean, and scavenge for seashells, and build sandcastles. But otherwise, they're normal residential lots.

Residential beach lots are fun - especially if you have a sim stuipd enough to permanently sunbathe during winter. The effect on the skin is beyond comparison

Yeah, apart from the fact that you pretty much have to build your own houses on them since beach lots are not easily transferable between 'hoods unless the terrain in both hoods is perfectly flat.

Somehow this doesn't really seem to be a big problem for me
Ugh, I need to have a sim move to the beach, and pronto. I haven't played a beach lot since I started up the Ridges.
