Is there a way to get furniture to stay in an empty lot?
« on: 2006 July 16, 03:28:59 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Here's my problem: I made a lot with several buildings as part of a story I'm doing, but did not add it to the Lot Bin so it could be reproduced over and over. I made my family of 24 for the story, moved them in, finished it, and now I'm on to part 2, but without a lot to use. I really didn't want to recreate the entire lot, so I made a lot, boolpropped everyone into the new one, and found the old one abandoned. I added it to my Lot Bin, but when I move them back in, all the furniture is gone.

So...is there a way for this furniture to remain in this lot even when no one is occupying it? Thanks.

Yes. You can find Inge's Stay Things shrub here:

That's a bad idea: The Stayables shrub actually damages object attributes, causing the lot's cost to be corrupted.

The only effective, "clean" method is to backup the lot file before moving out, then visit the lot in build mode, save, exit, and replace the file.

Well for Pete's sake, I didn't know that. I haven't heard anyone say that before.  Undecided

Sheesh, I use that thing on one particular lot all of the time. Thanks, Pes. Smiley
