Do I need original disc to install expansion?

I know this is a stupid question, but I can't find the answer to it anywhere.

I have all EPs up to Seasons except Pets, which I have just bought. I lent my base game to someone, so I don't want to try to install it to find that I have to put the Base Game CD in. I have the Seasons disc, and I think that should be all I need (And the Pets one obviously).

So when you install a new expansion, does it make you put the Base Game CD in? I think you have to put disc 4 in, but I'm not sure. If you do, can I download a no-cd crack or something? I don't know if a no-cd crack would work for that.
