1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The "Where Can I Find This CC?" Thread - Because you fail at Google on: 2010 October 17, 02:56:24
Is there a mod that makes children bring home playable children instead of townies? I don't mind childhood friendships, but I'm sick of seeing those NPCs when I have plenty of children in the game that I actually like.

Oh I didn't know about the magic wand! I bet it would have worked, too. Instead I ended up using the teleporter cat to add her to another household, then moved her back out and into her own house. But I lost all her stuff, including the family's gravestones and portraits.  I guess it's better than having to start the family over from scratch, anyway.

Mootilda - thank you SO much for the instructions. I am SO glad I won't have to use them. Wink

It only happened about an hour ago so I haven't had a chance, but I hadn't really thought about that. I lost live mode because of the witch, but I assumed I lost the sim because I deleted her. Do you think that would help? I thought the best way would be to tell the game she's somewhere other than the business lot, I'm just not really sure how to do that.

Okay, I am stupid and I broke my game. Please poke me with sticks, but hopefully help me too... I put this mod into my game to increase the frequency of witches showing up, but both times a witch showed up on a community lot I lost live mode. The first time I just exited to the neighborhood and went back to the home lot where the sim returned in the taxi, so I didn't think anything more of it (stupid). The second time, the witch showed up on the sim's business lot, so I tried the same trick, but since it was the sim's lot it asked me to save and I did (stupid), and when I re-entered I still didn't have live mode. I deleted the witch, saved again and re-entered, which gave me back live mode, but all the sim would do was get into her car and sit there. So I deleted the sim, thinking that would reset her (stupid), but when I re-entered the business lot there were now NO SIMS, and only build mode available.

She's not on the business lot, but the home keeps insisting she is and that she has to return. I tried moving her into a friend's house to get her back and got the same message. I couldn't find anything useful by turning on boolProp. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find her and get her back home? I'd prefer to do it in-game because I've never used simPE or any other modding programs before, but I'm willing to learn them if it can help. Anything?

Call me an idiot, I deserve it. I wouldn't care so much if she weren't a stinking sixth-generation stinking legacy sim.

Americans are basically retarded, so they come across as 12-year olds to the civilized world.

Well, it's nice to know that ignorance and bigotry aren't limited to the states, in any case.  Roll Eyes

Forget reassigning (although this is undeniably an awsome hack Grin), is there a way to make them do any job? Whenever I visit a business from another lot, all of the employees are shopping in their street clothes. No one is helping customers or manning the cash register or any of the very specific and consistent responsibilities I gave them when I was playing their employer (who is also acting useless in spite of her gold badges in everything.)

ETA - I'm gonna get my lips ripped off, aren't I?

Thank you, thank you, thank you, that tutorial as well as SimplyStella's "Hairs - How to Remove Unwanted Ages [Quick Tutorial] " at MTS2 was very useful.   Grin

Do you have a link to that tutorial? I'm so sick of shuffling through six hundred shag do's in my children's hairstyles!

*Edited for spelling.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Gahh..so what's the point? on: 2006 March 21, 06:38:15
I don't have that shop or hood but I know that you need to assign employees to those tasks if you want to visit the lot as a customer. A single manager won't run the place by his/her self.

I've visited several shops run by playable sims - a salon, a flower shop, and a clothing store among them - all with multiple employees assigned to specific tasks. However, whenever I visit the shop with a different sim, no one is where they're supposed to be; no one is manning the cash register, everyone is out of uniform, and all of the employees are shopping instead of selling/restocking/etc...

I just don't get it.  Undecided

I haven't had a servo in my game yet, but a (virtual) cookie to the first person who can guess what its name will be...  Grin
Klaatu barada nikto?
That was the deactivation code.  His name was "Gort."

I know.  Cheesy  I just always liked "nikto" better as a name. "Gort" sounds like the stereotypical pig farmer.

I think they can't get into college if they're failing high school... only D and above. Am I right?

I noticed the same thing, Gus. I've got a teen sim who has never shown up for work when I'm playing him because I want him to keep his A+, and he's one day away from getting fired. I'm surprised Maxis didn't think to allow for the school/job conflict since it seems so obvious - they can't even work weekends to get their job ratings back up.

It really ought to be traditional after-school job hours, with maybe full time week-ends. I wonder if anyone's working on a hack for this.

Really? Odd. Of course, my cheerleader has never reverted to NPC behavior either. Never mind, then.  Undecided

I don't know why they do that, but I do know that crammyboy has a hack that can fix it. I married the cheerleader Ivy Copur into one of my families, and it bugged me to no end to have her wandering around in that stupid llama suit, especially when she's so pretty.

The hack is called "Sims wear normal clothing on community lots (No work clothes) Version 5".
