TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hack Request: No More Going Back In Time After Visiting A Comm Lot

The obvious answer is that the sim remains off-lot with his icon at "at a community lot" until it is time for his return, just like when he goes to work. So that's pretty simple. Implementing it in the quagmire that is the community lot code...not so simple.
Somehow, I figured this'd be the case. It's Maxian code we're dealing with, after all. I'm pretty sure Maxis would probably never implement this idea (if they even could), because some players probably wouldn't like having to adjust to a "harder" game (since you can literally max out skills on a comm lot without aging a day). Maybe they'd add it with a toggle option, but that would be sort of lame IMO. Since no modder exists that is more awesome than JM, I think I can safely rule this idea out for the time being...

Maxis may have broken it with an expansion then, because I know for a fact I've seen "6:00 PM" before while waiting for a certain Sim to age so I could start a birthday party. It may have been base game-only or Uni-only, but I wouldn't remember which.

I'm sure you're all aware that your Sims can spend hours, days, weeks, months, etc. on community lots and return home hardly 10 minutes after they left their home lot. It would be nice if this could change, so here's my idea.
Basically, the hack should keep track of how long a Sim stays out on a community lot. If he/she goes to more than one, add the amounts of time together. Once you use the phone to "Call Taxi" or you use the car to "Drive Home," it should return your view to the home lot like normal and delay that Sim's return by however long their outing was.
An example: Say Joe Smith decides he wants to hit the local club for the night. He leaves his house at 4:25 PM and spends five hours at said club. Upon choosing to "Drive Home" from the lot, the player is returned to the home lot and Joe Smith returns home at 9:25 PM, five hours after he originally left.
This type of hack could pose some problems, such as spending a week on a community lot and having to wait a week for a Sim to return, especially if they happen to get to their birthday sometime in that time. However, if you (the player) decided to download such a hack, surely you would have the sense to not spend so much time on said community lots. Downloading is a choice, and with that you take whatever gameplay risk comes with that. (I'm not saying download stuff and deal with BFBVFS's, as that is a completely different topic, i.e. "dysfunctional" things.)
So, is this type of hack possible? Given that my experience with modding The Sims 2 is next to none, I can't possibly make a good assumption regarding this.

Okay, so for a long time now I've been bugged by this problem, but I don't want to take out every hack I have and replace one-by-one just to find out which is causing the problem.
Basically, the in-game clock will never show an "on the hour" reading. For example, when it should be reading "8:00 AM," it will instead stay stuck at 7:59 and then skip to 8:01. I was curious if anyone else has noticed this problem and if there are any hacks that may be causing it. I know that it works fine in an unmodified game, so one of my hacks is probably causing it. If anyone knows of one that causes this problem, please post.

I tried deleting the elevator and placing a new one in the exact same spot - this did not fix the problem.
It's not a deleting problem, Simlover. anyeone, try typing boolprop testingcheatsenabled true in your console window after hitting Ctrl+Shift+C. Then, hold Shift and click on the elevator and see what options there are. If only "Force Error" appears, hit it and then click Reset in the window that pops up. If the elevator works after that, you can type the same cheat except replace "true" with false to turn off debug mode.

Amazing that you managed to misspell the acronym for " Open For Business" twice. Regardless, yes, there are tons of bugs in OFB. Maxis probably will never fix them, so we gotta wait for JM or someone else to do it.

But Sims can't die on Community Lots, especially if they went by themselves. How would you ever get back to the home lot? Does the gravestone just float to the car and go home?
Not only that, but if they did die on a Community Lot, their gravestone would be lost as the lot itself is not saved once you leave.

House Mix was originally intended to pull music directly from your My Music folder, as evidenced by what the Prima Guide says (which was finished before the game went gold). Obviously, this is just more proof how inconsistent Maxis seems to be with keeping what they intended. Well...It's probably more along the lines of "Maxis is inconsistent because EA tells them development is finished when it's really not."

Wow, 3 days with no MATY. I guess I didn't happen to surf the site at the time when the alert was posted in the message box or I would have been able to get here. I almost resorted to thinking the site had been taken down, but I guess that would have only been half-correct. I knew JM would never leave us ( ), so I had a suspicion that the site was taken down forcibly. * TheCheat sighes. Why do morons have to resort to hacking and DoSing? It doesn't make sense. Nothing stays down on the Internet forever. What are they trying to prove?

Public colleges in the US are not all that cheap either. I'm in New York, and the city/state schools are $2,000 a semester.
This is cheap compared to most decent colleges in other states. I'd say here in Missouri (where I live), the average per semester for the well-known universities probably hovers around $5000-$7000. Bear in mind, I'm not talking about private college cost in NY, which is out-of-this-world. The range I floated is what I gather from public colleges in Missouri. I wouldn't even waste my time looking at private ones.

Well it's good to know that there's something worthwhile in all that MYL2 April Fool's stuff. Seeing that surprised me, really. The Duo did a good job.

In State-owned universities (e.g. the University of [insert state name] system), the tuition is usually cheaper than other universities, but we still have to pay nonetheless.
AFIAK, teens can only not go to college when they currently have an F in school.

Uh...since when has this been considered a "glitch"? You wouldn't adopt a kid in real life and then draw your family tree with him attached to you and your spouse, because he obviously wasn't yours. I'd say the "glitch" here is the fact that adopted children have no memories. It'd be cool to see a snapshot of an adopted child's "past" with memories from it.
