Has anyone been able to move the screen from side to side, etc? I mean using the cursor at the sides or top/bottom to just move the screen. I can tilt and rotate, but I can't just use the cursor to move view. Kind of frustrating having to rotate and zoom to see what the hell they are doing.

Ouch, that sounds like the first site I tried. I tried every site people here suggested (I'm not kidding) and the only that moves at a good pace is the one from seedgames.com. You have to register but it's open registration. I've been downloading for three hours and I'm almost at 35%. I'd stop the download you have, it'll probably take another couple days to download.

I must be doing it wrong.  I go to seedgames.com and all I get on any page I click there are lists of links to other websites.  I don't see anywhere to register or download torrents.

its not .com as was previously posted,. it is http://seedgames.org

Sammy that pic is funny. I do hope someone is able to figure out how to get rid of the censor

TashaFaun is correct about the wait time, I canceled my download from TPB, after about 15 hours I was still only at 42%, I am now downloading from seedgames, and after only 2 1/2 hours I am at 60%

*Shakes fist at your better net connection* TPB one was at 42% after 48 hours and I'm on 60% from seedgames after 6 hours. BOO!  Cheesy

Sorry, but shake fists at my mom, she lives next door and I tap into her net connection. Why pay for my own when I can use hers..lol

After looking at the TPB torrent that mentions mac (thanks jolrei), I'm gonna theorize that the disc image they ripped contains the installers for both PC & Mac, so probably any of these ~5gb releases will work for either. I won't be able to verify this till tomorrow, but sharing the theory for info's sake.

Except if you get it from TPB you might be waiting a few days. The one I downloaded from seedgames.com had comments from Mac users who installed and played it fine. I'd suggest getting it from there, but that's just me.

Have you tried editing the compatibility? (Right-click on .exe file, select properties, Compatibility and set it to XP or Vista 32, whichever pops up).
Also, try righ-click > Run as Administrator on the file.

Yes indeedy, I have. Does nothing. Thanks for the idea though. I tried that a few times just for good measure. I got really pissed at one point. I had to walk away or I might have punched my computer. Not many things make me that angry but computers are pretty much number one on that lst.

Having to start over really sucks. I am starting to think something is wrong with my download, been going since 5:42pm yesterday and its now only at 47%. Is there anyway to speed this up?

I just deleted that one, and I am trying seedgames, here's to hoping this moves faster.
Thanks for the info.

What do you see when you mount the image (.iso)?  Daemon should have created a virtual drive that essentially operates as the game DVD.  You mount the .iso in that drive.  The files should then be visible on that drive.  You should be able to install from there as easily as if you had a disk in a physical DVD drive.  Not happening?

No, that is happening. But when I click anything to try to install it just tells me I can't because it's not compatible. I'm downloading again in hopes that the download/iso got corrupted along the way. I'll report back if that helps, tonight (only about 30% t this point). On to day four of this saga *sigh*.

108  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Technical problems with THE HORROR: downloading, installing, and running it on: 2009 May 21, 02:49:13
Maybe there is a way to run it on the 32 bit. Maybe in the programs file not the programs x86 file?

Maybe. All I know is that I hit the setup app and it told me it wasn't compatible.
That's strange.  I have Vista 64-bit, and it works fine on my computer.  I've been playing for the last two days straight, no crashes even.   I didn't get a compatibility message when I tried to install it, though.  Did the pop-up specifically mention Vista 64-bit?

oh good. My download will continue then... I also have the thing on pre-order and my spawns are dying to play, I was afraid I was going to have to disappoint them..

Has any had any luck installing it on a Vista 64 bit system? I tried and it says it's not compatible with my version of Windows. Three days downloading the damn thing, I never thought I wouldn't be able to use it. Sad pirate cat is sad.

oh no! I have vista 64 bit and I am halfway through my download  Sad.

They really want to sell this game.....this is part of an article taken from NY Times dated 5/13/09 full article here

"Electronic Arts executives wanted the marketing campaign to showcase the new features of The Sims 3, and to get people who might not play the game to understand what it was about.

The focus of the marketing is online, and beginning Friday, Electronic Arts will begin offering three ways for consumers to play with Sims characters on the Web.

There will be a free trial available at Sims3.com and at the Sims 3 fan page on Facebook, meant for people who have never played the game before.

Another option, called SimFriend, lets visitors to the Web site pick a Sim pen pal from among 120 characters, and that pen pal will send e-mail messages. For example, a Sim might send a message asking what type of dinner she should cook for her boyfriend, and the fan picks from options like "Cook an elegant meal." The e-mail chain would continue, tailored to the Sim's personality and skills.

"If the Sim happens to be a kleptomaniac chef, the response you get back might be, ‘Thanks, I went and stole food today,' when what you're expecting is ‘Thanks, I just had lunch,' " said John Buchanan, senior director of worldwide marketing for the Sims line at Electronic Arts.

The third option is called SimSidekick. A fans chooses from 6 characters on the Web site, and an image of the character that is chosen floats on top of the browser as the fan moves around the Web.

The character has site-specific responses to sites that Electronic Arts has chosen, like MTV.com, YouTube, and Twitter. On Twitter, for instance, where the mascot is a bird, a flock of bluebirds descends on the character, and, depending on its personality, the character will jump, wave his or her hands, or respond in some other way."

...not sure I would want a sim emailing me all day.

It will be interesting to see how many flock to the Sims 3 site on Friday.

Still looking for the toddler mummy wraps, and I particularly want Argon's non streaked recolors of the "Short Assymmetrical Cut" hairstyle.. please, anyone?  Also still wondering about those two castle objects.

Strange, my files disappeared from mediafire. I am uploading them again now, the toddler mummy wrap is included. I don't think I have the streaked hair though, sorry.

They will be here
113  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 May 01, 20:53:59
The chair thingie actually could be, if not a toy, then the type of "potty and safety chair" that I have seen many actual versions of up in northern Sweden, in the Local Historical Heritage Museums or whatever they would be called in English. Very practical to both keep the baby clean (a potty under the seat, easy to clean out) and safe, to keep it away from Dangerous Stuff, like the fire.
I would love even more color options, please post them Cheesy

An_na has made a bunch of recolors found here
114  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of Phail: April 09 on: 2009 April 30, 13:48:26
Yeah, I'm in the same situation.  I had to keep my spawn busy (actually this is a recurring thing), and since a couple of my sims just became vampires, we've been building a castle for them.  My 6 is very interested in architecture, without having any sense of stylistic vision.  It's a very odd castle.  Anyway, I should have just based it on the house for the month, but I was not thinking clearly the day we started.

Same here. My 6 yr old likes to play too, he likes bodyshop though, but has no sense of style, you should see some of his sims  Undecided. My 20 yr old loves to decorate the houses, but she also loves to use way too much cc.
115  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of Phail: April 09 on: 2009 April 29, 21:54:43
oh no. I missed this one. I haven't even started. Damn RL getting in the way. Can't believe the month is over already
116  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Store edition and missing objects on: 2009 April 23, 23:51:23
Thanks, I already tried uninstalling the store edition, but then my saved game, neighborhoods and all disappeared. It was an empty game not even the pre-made hoods and when I tried to load my backed up game it would not work. So I had to reinstall the store edition just to get my game back.

I guess I will just keep trying different files and hopefully they will work eventually like the other sets did.

edit: after trying  ton of different files again, I found the solution, I deleted the store edition folder from the c:/documents/ea games folder and then everything showed up again.
117  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Store edition and missing objects on: 2009 April 23, 20:58:43
I am having issues with the store stuff since installing that stupid store edition. Everything just disappeared.
I have been able to get most of it to show up again, except, the cubic and deco dining chairs, and most of the Asian fusion set.
The bed, dressers, end tables, tv and 2 of the lamps from asian fusion show up but not the rest of the stuff.
I have reloaded all the items with my files, and then I went through the threads here and got the files that others had linked to try those and still can not get these to work.
I even bought the 2 dining chairs over again, and they still don't show up.
Can anyone suggest what else I should try?

I have all EP's/Sp's and the store edition installed.
118  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2009 April 12, 02:25:32
How can I get these hairstyles? , Please

first of all you might wanna look in TS2 Store Stuff Collections thread since this thread is older an proably dosent have 2/3 the store stuff

an these hairs are part 2 differnet collections so either look up TS2 Store Stuff Collections or look up both TS2 Store Art Nouveaulicious Collection & TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection

I think she's trying to tell us that the skins are new and no one here has them yet. Shocked

knightguy is correct, the first one is in the Asian Fusion collection and the second is in the Art Nouveaulicious collection. They are probably looking at the store and at the hair itself and seeing them and not looking in the collections to see if they are part of one of them.
119  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 April 09, 23:16:08
I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread for these or not so I will just post them here, can always be moved later.

Here are the first 2 items for the little spawns.

The Bouncinator 3000 & The DangleMaster Deluxe

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ab4f7dc872c7b3cd380534058806c13c959035b608f70514.

Since I am braindead when it comes to SimPe, can someone check them out to make sure they are ok. Thanks
120  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 March 28, 15:51:31
I was trying to download the Deco - Armoire (missing from Deco ip).ip and I received this message "Invalid File. This error has been forwarded to MediaFire's development team."  Is there another location I can download it from.  I tried to locate it before posting but to no avail I could not find it anywhere.

probably a mediafire glitch, its working now. It can also be found here http://www.box.net/shared/4jv5my43h4

122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help! What am I missing? on: 2009 March 16, 13:52:49
This is why I now subfolder my subfolders. I had random weirdness like this, where it would crash trying to enter a hood. I took out subfolder by subfolder and it was not a hack/mod causing the crash it was actually CM clothing. Then it happened again, trying to load the Monty lot in Veronaville, removed each folder and it turned out to be a toddler girl I had downloaded.

124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But I don't HAVE Double Deluxe! WTF? on: 2009 March 11, 18:09:02
that's strange, I have all EP's and all SP's including M&G and I still get the NL logo. Maybe its some random glitch
125  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis house of Phail: March 09 on: 2009 March 01, 16:50:40
I'm just stunned. It's beautiful. The only thing I'd change is the red carpet in the living room, because it makes me think of pub carpeting. Everything else is lovely, so cool and clean - makes me think of unbleached linen.

Your daughter's a frequent flyer, I hope?

Thanks, that is a huge compliment. I am a fan of your beautiful houses, and I am still new to these makeovers and still have lots to learn.
I am never sure which carpets to use, the maxis ones are so limited, and some of them are just to flat looking, I like the ones that look like the shaggy style carpet

yes she is a frequent flyer, she has been making the rounds of visiting family members...*sigh* to be young and free
