Cool, thanks a lot you guys! I will give these methods a whirl and see how it goes!
53  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Help...question about some sims I want to clone on: 2007 May 18, 00:05:53
I transferred all my Sims stuff over to a different computer and while that was all fine & dandy I had one neighborhood that for some reason didn't survive the move.  I still have all of their files in the game but for some reason the hood doesn't show up on the neighborhood selector.  Fine, whatever but there were 2 sims in that hood that I wanted to clone and use again in a new hood.  In the previous hood they were already elders, full of memories and relationships.  I still have their character files and all of that.  It it possible to just clone the two sims as adults w/o any of their prior memories and relationship and be able to reuse them?  And if so how does one go about doing that?

Hope that made sense.  Thanks!
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What do you build into your houses? on: 2007 May 16, 23:24:31
Hmm I am apparently stupid b/c besides the obvious I have never really thought of building specific rooms for things outside of the traditional kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, living room(s)...and then gee..I wonder why I can never organize the house properly.  I guess IRL most people don't have their treadmills and weight machines plopped in the middle of their living rooms or outside either *L*

55  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: Seasons p0 Energizer Fix on: 2007 March 29, 10:27:01
*hits thanks button*

Seriously...the first couple times I thought I was losing my mind with the whole energizer being screwed thing...then I finally realized that they had indeed it screwed it up.  WTF...was it ever broken before...what did they have to change in Seasons that screwed it up?
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Poll: How do you feel about accidental deaths in the Sims 2? on: 2007 March 29, 10:16:38
I got strangely giddy last night seeing a sim that I can't decide rather I want her to live or die catch herself on fire making crepes suzette  (I always have a strange vibe when it might be risky to make, and tend to make my sims make in then for some hopeful fire inducing drama)  She was a pile of ashes when I decided to wake her lover up and have him plead if he could make it there in time.  Sadly he did.    I should have let her remain a pile of ashes on the floor.

The only sure fire way I have found of making "accidental" deaths more common is leaving large amounts of tombstones and angry ghosts on lots.  It is almost a promised accidental death per generation.

I also turn off the picture in picture that shows special events.  Every once in a while I will stumble across an "accident" that happened to late for me to do anything.

I personally wish the way pleading with the reaper works could be changed.  It is too predictable.  If someone with a high relationship is doing the pleading it is pretty  much guaranteed that pleader will win.  I wish it was more random.
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: What mods are you already begging for? on: 2007 March 09, 04:53:16
I have obviously not read this whole thread, it is much too long so sorry if someone has already mentioned this but I just got Seasons last night and really started playing today.

Water balloon fights + Servos =  Um why did they even allow Servos to have the action to do this?  Meh annoying Servos running amok.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ah screw it! (time for starting over, so what's the best way) on: 2006 December 14, 02:38:52
Mine probably takes a good 10 minutes to load now..possibly 15...I'm not really sure b/c I do other stuff while it is loading..but yeah that's pretty sad.  I have a huge amount of CC though and most of it needs to be sorted through and a lot of it needs deleted.  With no CC is loads in like under a minute.
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: ah screw it! (time for starting over, so what's the best way) on: 2006 December 13, 02:53:46
I think I need to give it up and start over.  I dread loading my game b/c it takes so long.

I was beta testing Inteen and in doing so I did it with a fresh game, no downloads whatsoever...it was awesome how fast the game loaded and I really didn't miss that much stuff at all.
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 11, 10:33:57

I sort of miss the wild and wooly Sims 1 days where you could decide to off something/someone without social workers and animal cruelty stepping in. Everything was frontier justice-stylee. Sometimes when I was running an eight person house, people would just randomly fight before I even knew they hated each other. It seemed more efficient than all this poking and fuming.

Indeed.

At any rate...I don't really mind the strays in the game...yet anyways...although there have been a few that makes me wish a school bus would come run them over.
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 10, 07:54:20
If you starve them I think the animal control comes and takes them away.
62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do YOU Pleasantview? on: 2006 November 10, 07:52:20
I have not played that 'hood in forever...I need to do that. It really did turn out to be one of my favorite 'hoods.   I've been focusing all my time on one custom neighborhood practically since OFB came out.  Yes, I have a very long attention span when it comes to my families and neighborhoods.

Dustin, Dirk, Lilith, & Angela all went to college together...of course they ended up pairing up together...Lilith & Dirk and Angela and Dustin.  Angela & Dustin were pretty boring..they had 2 kids together.  Dirk and Lilith ended up getting a divorce.  Before they did they had a son though.  Lilith remarried the gardener, Leo, and had a kid with him.  I think Leo either died while she was pregnant or shortly after in a fire.

Daniel & Mary Sue of course had to break up.  It only seemed right to have happen.  Mary Sue kept the house and Daniel moved off with Kaylynn.  He married her right before he killed over.  I kept trying to get him a son but the woman had 4 girls with the man.  He died and they were pretty poor.  It was quite a disaster at first...everybody was in aspiration failure and there was screaming toddlers and babies all around.  Mary Sue never remarried...she just whored about until she died.

Dina & Mortimor got married and had 2 daughters.  She remained single and just raised the girls until she died.

Alex Goth married the daughter of Angela & Dustin.  He got abducted a lot and had little green babies and one with Naima.  They all died though in this freak fire accident.  I've never had a whole family perish in a fire before.  But he does have his genes still running around.  One of his green son's knocked up Nina's daughter before dying in that fire.

Darren & Cassandra did not end up together.  I always hated them together.  Darren seemed more like the type to be totally aloof to women.  He got abducted and made me a little green baby...but then I started feeling bad for him so he ended up marrying the Nanny that helped raise his daughter.

Dirk married again after divorcing Lilith.  He had the unfortuante fate of marrying a drama professor...that didn't last long.  After his second divorce he finally settled down with the mail lady and had a few more kids.

I brought back Skip for Brandi and they went on to have a set of twin boys and dying of old age.  I think before they died Skip got caught cheating on her but I just made them stay together till they both died.  They bored me.

Don & Nina lived together until they both died.  Never had them get married...why ruin a good thing?  They had a few gorgeous kids together...Don also fathered another child with some random chick in the 'hood

Cassandra's family is one of my favorite...well her daughter now actually...but Cassandra married an exterminator and had three kids.  Her daughter married Don & Nina's son.

I think that's it for the main characters.  I think I'm a few generations deep into it now.

63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you kill pets? on: 2006 November 10, 07:27:43
They can't even die in fires?
Unless I've been smoking bad crack again...couldn't you set them on fire in TS1?  Not that I went around setting my animals on fire...but you know if there was a fire...sometimes shit happened.  Why change it?  Why not let things just happen like it would in real life...dogs..cats...babies...they aren't fire resistant dammit.

Maxis...EA isn't very clever anymore when it comes to making the EPs.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CEP for Pets released on: 2006 November 04, 07:44:34
Well highly doubt it all you want...i mentioned something in the thread on MTS2 just in case, but I have no idea what the heck happened.  I downloaded from the thread linked here, not the scriptwhatever.

I played with the radiance lighting for a long time and got sick of it so took it out.  I know what it looks like and how it works.

That is the only thing I downloaded outside of MATY since I reloaded my game today.  Maybe it's a freak occurance and my game went psycho lol I dunno.  It's not a big deal either way...I was just a bit annoyed that it snuck in somewhere.

Shiny!

An annoyance indeed, glad to see it fixed!
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CEP for Pets released on: 2006 November 04, 07:11:29
Hmmm

It's interesting that he says the radiance lighting has been removed from CEP, yet after downloading it today the radiance lighting is once again in my game upon loading after installing the latest CEP.

I thought one actually came with the EP... Huh
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Grrr to Maxis prudishness on: 2006 October 28, 19:46:19
Indeed...dogs humping things (other than for mating obviously) is a sign of dominance.  Most people don't realize this for whatever reason.  Hence why my mom's ugly little chihuahua attempts to hump everyone that walks into her house and the people in her house.  They treat the chihuahua like she owns the house so she thinks she does.  Stupid ass chihuahua.  My dog knows it's the submissive one.

However how does one explain cats humping random things?  My cats got a *ahem* little friendly before and after they got neutered with a stuffed animal.  It was so wrong.  Eventually I had to hide it from them.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pet Adoption = Rich Sims Only on: 2006 October 25, 07:23:14
Well if it were up to me everything would be more expensive so I'm pretty happy with the fact that pets don't come dirt cheap if you buy one in game.  You can always get one for free by creating one and then adding it to the family.
72  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: This one is really making me mad (error log included) on: 2006 October 24, 22:07:30
It is getting stranger.

I took out my folders and put them back one by one...I thought I was down to the last 4 folders and one had to contain the problem.  Ummm nope.  So it is something in combination with something else, causing the strangeness.

I'm half tempted to ditch it all and start over.

It's even more screwed up that he's trying to do the grilled cheese desperation when he's a f'ing romance sim.
73  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: This one is really making me mad (error log included) on: 2006 October 24, 00:39:47
Damn.  This means that it is something that is in one of my folders not labeled for hacks.  This is no good at all.  Oh how fun this will be to figure out what it is.
74  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / This one is really making me mad (error log included) on: 2006 October 23, 22:43:03
Sim A invites Sim B over to his house for a date.  Upon clicking on his date an error pops up, I hit reset, he jumps, the date takes a major hit and then he continues on with the the action, rinse and repeat for everytime that I attempt to have him interact with his date.

I have tried hard to figure this one out myself but nothing is working.  First of all I removed all my downloads and put my hacks back in...first only including the"work of the awesome".  Dates worked fine.  Then I included the stuff I was testing that was the work of the "non awesome".  Dates worked fine.  I then added back some other stuff folder by folder and it worked fine but then dumped the rest back in when I had concluded that it wasn't hacks, custom foods, ect causing the problem.

I don't know if something snuck in somewhere or if my game is screwed or if I have an object or something somewhere conflicting or what but I'm stumped...
