26  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Freshly installed game won't load on: 2010 August 03, 21:17:22
Right, so I decided to get back into Sims 2, being dissatisfied with Sims 3 and the BugProgression, having lost most of my disks I chose to pirate it. I got a pirated copy of Sims2 Deluxe plus all expansions and stuff packs up to Apartment life (didn't get the last two stuff packs last stuff pack I have is Kitchen and Baths)

I got everything installed (had to download a second torrent of OFB as the one I got first wouldn't install), replaced the  AL .exe with a no-CD cracked .exe and I've been trying to run it, but it keeps freezing on a blank blue screen and giving me a crash error message as soon as I Alt+Tab out of it.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800 series video card, and I've just updated the drivers today. Sims 3 runs OK with both EP and the stuff pack installed. I don't have Securom installed (I've been through the registry looking for it to make sure)

I deleted the accessory.cache file (didn't have any other .cache files. Also deleted the content registry in the AL folder.

Is there anybody that can give me some advice?

Well I got the game to load without the AM config file but with the framework, but with the AM config file it goes all the way to 100 percent on the loading bar and then stalls (which is different from where it was stalling before. I deleted the "scriptsCache" file, but it's still not working properly.

I've tried it in both the my documents folder and the program files folder, I've tried copying stuff manually and using the framework installer, I've used the cfg file settings here and in the original thread by cocconer, I still can't fix it.

I'm having issues with the base game latest patch and the game not loading, I've tried the framework installer, and the dashboard says that the framework is installed properly, but the framework installer says that one or more of my sims 3 games doesn't have the framework installed, and it's trying to install the ambitions framework although I don't have ambitions.

Also I am unclear if I'm supposed to put the mod in my documents or the original program files folder with the latest base game patch.

I keep getting a "network time out" message on Firefox whenever I try to download Awesome Mod.

Is anybody else having this problem?
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Overheating has gone too far!! on: 2007 March 13, 01:19:26
my game is usually pretty happy and fun. I've had a few aliens, and  one or two vampires. No werewolves yet, and no zombies, as I don't like the zombies, not too enamored of the plantsims either.

My sims usually die of old age, though I've had a few scared to death and I used the testing cheats to electrocute a nanny to death once.

33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Snow days and nannies on: 2007 March 09, 17:53:45
I had a few snow days when I was in school, heck my College had a snow day this winter. It doesn't snow much whee I live so it doesn't happen often.

My sims have had one snow day.

Thanks, Jordi. Here is another dumb question: how do I keep the Sims game from opening when I put the CD in the computer? It started up the last time I tried this, and I quit. Then I went to the file and copied it. Next time I tried to install the game, it wouldn't go. Did I damage the CD somehow? If you think this question is too tiresome to post a reply to on the board, if you have time could you send me a private message? I'd probably be too afraid to ever try this again, but I'd still like to know what I did wrong.

There is a utility called TweakUI that can disable autorun for you, unfortunately I don't have a link, you'll have to google it.

It's happened a couple of times in different houses with different food I think. It doesn't *always* happen just sometimes. It's rather annoying though.
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 09, 04:49:11
um..I don't think I have any CC fridges, no.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons on: 2007 March 09, 04:24:35
has anybody else had leftovers disappear when you try to remove them from the fridge, or is it just me?

I actually find that there is more sims online in the middle of the night then any other time, I dunno if this is a delibirate feature or just my game but it sure is useful.

If you can get a hold of Shaklin's medicine cabinet that will tell you who the other parent is.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Incest. A game for all the family. on: 2006 December 22, 18:52:11
I'm sorry but this reminded me of THESE!

A father of 3 boys named J. Dickinson
Found incest to be quite a lot of fun.
Said a friend, "Even though J.",
"May be gay",
"At least his name matches his avocation."

A father of 4 girls named Dickinson
Found incest to be quite a lot of fun.
Said a friend, "Maybe we oughter"
    "Nickname him Dickindaughter",
"Then that name will match his avocation."
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Orphaned toddlers have no wants in Pets on: 2006 December 20, 19:00:38
My toddlers have broken wants even if they *have* parents. Sometimes my older sims have broken wants too.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wants & Fears problem. on: 2006 December 18, 22:16:42
Romance sims, in my experience only want to marry when they are on dates with somebody, an effect of the dating system I would assume.

46  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Townie teens can't go to uni on: 2006 December 14, 01:53:30
townies automatically have C grades, which is enough to get them into Uni.

Sim-unis are not very selective unlike real unis.

I'm pretty lax about career rewards. Half the time I forget to collect them.

I try to rotate the family I play, but I often don't suceed. But my legacy spares don't live forever, although they end up living longer then thei heir siblings.

Also like to move in townies to keep the townie pool rotating and changing. Otherwise you end up with old "Girl has first kiss with the same teen townie that her great-great grandmother had her first kiss with" which is kinda, creepy.
49  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Woohoo LTW Fix on: 2006 December 08, 05:04:15
photobooth counted as public woohoo at home the one time I tried it (can't remember if it was pre or post OFB

Haven't tried it since pets (at least).
50  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Flashing Blue / Black born-in-game faces on: 2006 December 06, 18:01:21
I had a sim walk by with a flashing blue face once. It was an isolated incident however. I've also had sims with white faces with weird numbers or something on them, changing their apperence fixed that. I've also had sims faces disapear entirely and changing appearance fixed that.

It appears to be one of a class of random annoying graphical glitches.
