Didn't seem rude at all to me, witch . I remember thinking something similar about that way of playing, and at the same time thinking what an awesome way it would be to set up a storyline. There's no way I'd have the attention span for it, though. I've got great concentration during school and work (when I have a job; atm I'm blissfully unemployed), but in my leisure time I'm rather the opposite. I think I'm playing like 5 games currently, as well as reading 3 books .

Any parent who dressed their child in the "elf" clothes (or even the earlier example of ivy or whatever by the same 'artist') and paraded them around in public ought to be hauled in to the police station. (Yes, yes, I know, these are sims, not people. At least, I think that's what they are.) In any case, there's plenty of offerings in this thread that I don't think are the least bit whorish, so we'll just agree to disagree, okay? No, I don't agree to disagree. Because they're supposed to be elves romping in the woods or something, not people living in suburbia. Further, the idea that mere skin is enough to constitute pedophilia is the kind of thinking that got a woman hauled to jail for taking pictures of her kids in a bathtub.

I agree with notveryawesome. Showing skin, even a lot of skin, isn't whorish. That Christmas outfit, with thigh-high stockings which are obviously meant to titillate, is definitely disturbing. Elvish children wearing a few flowers as clothing isn't sexual in any particular way. It's like the difference between wearing a string bikini and going to a nude beach. The people on the nude beach are all just having fun together nakedly without any sexual component, usually. A string bikini, however, is meant to be "sexy".

Companies are generally more interested in the people doing the cracking in the first place and then the ones downloading the entire game, not just the exe.
They would also never try it in court, as they would lose, which would open them up to a whole lot of crap they don't want to deal with. Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you were saying they would lose if they took the original crackers to court, not the hapless endusers. Aah. That is an interesting question, actually -- while there's all sorts of stuff forbidding reverse-engineering, I don't think most judges would punish someone who only made a min-image or cracked an .exe. It's not something the big game companies are going to try out, either, at least not until they are more assured that they would win than they are now. There's a lot of gray area there.

Why would they lose?
Because they are attempting to prevent people from using a product they have bought and legally own. Copy protection itself is very iffy, legally, because of the problems it causes for consumers.

The cracked exe worked. Thank you so much.
So basically they implemented some new copy protection device that is broken on some machines, even with the safedisk update? And I suppose that with the DMCA it is illegal for me to use the cracked exe, even if it's the only way I can use the software I legally purchased. I really, really hate these corporations.
Yep. Copy protection is idiotic and makes pirates of the most honest. But it's not illegal for you to use the .exe, as you bought the game. No matter what EA would have you believe. Glad it worked for you .

A mini image will allow the game to load without having the disc in the drive. You'll have to download a couple things to use it: daemon tools and sd4hide are what I use. The FAQs for those are pretty easy to follow. You can get the image at gamecopyworld as well. I prefer to use the image rather than a cracked .exe, personally. These should help if your problem is rooted in copy protection issues.
EA's "support" is notoriously bad. My cat could do better, because at least she wouldn't regularly give the wrong answers.

The second room has been completely redecorated. You didn't just change the bed. You put expensive floors down, added a rug, added lights, got an expensive desk and a nice bookcase.
Neriana, I have many downloaded objects, which are cheap, and many floor/walls which cost 1-2$, specially for starters. The ones I used are the downloaded ones, on purpose. The desk costs 140$ (downloaded), and the lamps are cheap too. But it didn't help to change the environment rate at all. It changed ONLY after I replaced the original bed with cheaper one, but with red color. You changed the floors and didn't tell us how much the second floors cost. You added lamps and a bookcase where there had been no lamps or bookcase before. The desk I can't say, but I know that bed comes with an environment score of 6, as I have it in my game. It's from Life Stories, and costs $3800. Even if you found a cheaper one somewhere, I bet they didn't change the environment score, just the price.
