Here is a clone of the Lady On Red painting that references all of the recolors of the original, so there is no texture in the package. However, the mesh is included, because if I checked "reference original mesh" in the cloning options, I couldn't make it work. But the file is very small, nevertheless, only 15kb. Would this help you with your project? This doesn't need to be a final version if you're not happy with the file names and such.

Alientone is dominant, and a pollination has thus an alien tone with a human tone genetically, and is always green barring a malfunction.
This means that in the second generation, you have a 50/50 chance of getting green again, since the alien tone is dominant, but it is no longer assured.
Actually, no. After thorough testing, it's been determined that alien tone is dominant only if one parent is homozygous to the alien skin tone (which is why abduction babies always (should) end up green). However, when a parent is heterozygous to the green skintone, like the babies born from an abduction usually are, the green skintone turns equal with other Maxis skintones, and they only have a 25% of having a green baby themselves (when custom skintones are excluded). So, a sim can have a green skintone gene without expressing it, since it's no longer dominant. This is why it's so hard to get green babies from half-alien sims.

Could you please tell me who was the creator for that ponytail mesh? I did a search using a few combinations of words but couldn't find it. Somehow during my search I got distracted and dl'd a desktop full of stuff. Now I'm to tired to install any of it so I'm gonna go play The Movies for a bit first. Thanks for the links everyone.
Here's a link for the hair: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=101133 It looks gorgeous in the game, I just tried it today.

My computer is not a name brand, but something put together by a local shop according to what we asked for (but several parts have been updated since I bought it)
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.8 GHz 1 Gb of RAM NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra 256mb 480W power supply Windows XP Home
This combination runs the game quite well, although always upon loading a lot, there is a bit of lag at first. With my previous video card, ATI Radeon 9600 XT (128mb) the graphics would often blur when the lots got busier, but after upgrading the video card (which may be a bit of overkill), that never happens anymore, and the graphics details are preserved at all times. The only thing I'd complain about is the loss of object specularity which seems to have something to do with the video card and its compatibility with the game. And the latest NVidia video drivers don't work very well with TS2, so I'm using version 77.77.

Yes, walking is pretty much innate.
Kids learn it when they have sufficant motivation.
It also has to with the maturity of their nervous system. Their brain has to be up to a certain level of development before learning complex motor and other skills is possible. The brain is still not done with its development at the time of birth, but physical changes happen in the brain long after we're born at the same time we learn new skills.

About the Term Paper - you choose the wrong computer. Choose the LapTop (the small one, black) - it is the one that has the "college" -> "write term paper" option.
The laptop? I don't think there is a Maxis computer that's a laptop, but both the cheap Moneywell Computer and the pricier Little Sister should have the college options. The Alienware one, I believe, does not have the option.

Thnx you guys! But can I ask, is there any way to get more than one face mask on a sim? Cuz it seems right now I'll have to choose between freckles or braces...but I'd definitely love to use them both on one sim. The braces that I have (that I also think are Maxis ones found hiding in the game) are categorized under lipstick in make-up. I don't remember where I got them, though.

I found a nice animated ponytail similar to that at MTS2. It has a seperate accessory bang mesh and is for all ages. I think it might be a tad fuller than that one and perhaps juat a bit shorter. (it's definately not the same one).
cute sim by the way. She has nice freckles.
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to go looking for that hair at MTS2, I'm a sucker for ponytails . The freckles are Maxis made ones hidden in the game that someone extracted. I think they are the only thing I ever downloaded from the Exchange

This will happen if the table is the closest source of cup disposal. Sims now choose the closest available source of cup disposal, which could be a table, or it could be the dishwasher.
Including the floor? I'm afraid there is always going to be some floor closer to the sim than any dishwasher would be. I will have to pay closer attention to this, when they place it on the floor and when someplace else.

The headaches are probably just tension headaches and I'm to take antidepressants as a preventative measure... Maybe a 2nd opinion on that one? There are heaps of things people can do about tension headaches without using anti-depressants, might pay to google & try a few. Small doses of certain anti-depressants have been found to help with tension headache. It doesn't mean the doctor thinks you're "crazy" or that depression is causing your headaches. It's a standard medication used for chronic tension headache that can help you to lower your dose of pain medication that in the long run can be harmful to you. That's not the only treatment for headaches, of course, but it's a fully valid one.

ok, update time... been to the neurologist today... the verdict is that the blip on my CT scan was probably nothing, but I'm to have an MRI to be sure. The headaches are probably just tension headaches and I'm to take antidepressants as a preventative measure... That's good news

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Safe to rename?
|
on: 2005 November 18, 09:01:27

Generally it's safe to rename package files. With some older object packages (I don't know exactly how old) renaming was a problem, but not with the newer ones. All Bodyshop packages should be ok to rename. I always rename my own Bodyshop and Homecrafter files to remove that long hash number and replace it with my normal file names.
If you have Nightlife installed, all of your downloads can go into subfolders. If not, all the clothing, make-up and genetics packages have to stay in the main folder (but new meshes of clothing and hair can go into subfolders, if I'm not mistaken).

Have you tried the 6.1.7.7 driver? I swore by the 77.77 until I rolled back to this one..thanks to my husband and his fascination with W.O.W. Nope, didn't change anything compared to the 77.77 I had before. Objects like the Maxis piano used to be very shiny, but it's not. Has anyone tried the newest version of the drivers, 81.94? Does it make any difference with TS2? Edited to add: I tried the latest drivers, but they made my cow plants turn light green in color. Someone else had a similar problem with their bed pillows turning green. I went back to 77.77, and everything is working fine, except for the missing specularity, of course.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to try that report back to you how it works out . It would be awesome to have the object specularity back, because after I'd had it for a while, everything looked so plain without it.
