Yeah, mine work fine as well. Take out all your hacks and try again. Then narrow down witch one is messing things up.
And invuln dormies suck. Get the hack and MAKE THEM SUFFER.
Use a cheat and bring any that die back as zombiees and return them to the dormiee town pool.

I've thought about all of the above. I haven't played Don since August or September of last year. He's definitely not expecting (would kill him dead on the spot if he spawned another seed). If he's poisoned he's out of luck.Wouldn't surprise me if the slob ate bad food-- vaguely recall seeing him at a restaurant while I was playing another sim. If he's allergic one would think the game would have him avoid flowers, but then this is the sims and common sense doesn't exist.
Thanks for the input. I guess I'll be forced to play Lothario to find out.
Nah. Just let him suffer!

I have no employees paid over 40$ an hour. I've never been able to find an employee who will work for less that $40 / hour, via any venue. My playable sims have too many skills, and the townies all cost more than that. Once they get any kind of shop experience, they start demanding $70-$100 an hour. Don't hire employees with skills and badges other than the one job they are being hired for. All it does is raise the cost. I never see any unskilled or single skilled candidates. All the homeless people, trailer park trash, and mentally challenged sims in my hood are very grateful to get 15$ an hour and be forced to wear their underwear while they work.
Are these playable Sims that you've created and never played? - Gus Yeah. The game towniees suck. Before I started my first real hood I destroyed all towniees, and added several lots of hookers, trailer parks, juvenile detention centers, homeless people, twinks on the prowl, etc. I wanted it to look real at a comm lot. Sadly that was before we knew about the flaming ball of doom and I did some strange things that led to 1300 characters... I remade the whole hood, recreating all the sims in it, but left the towniees in. SO I have 500 or so char files, but a huge number of the people wandering are my sims. Besides, with that kind of sim you can do fun things. Like the homeless people lot, I go in every so often and lower all their hygene, aspiration, and social to the lowest level. That way they are EXTRA attracted to talking to your sims on comm lots, but stink, and I make them mean...

I don't get this restocking thing. It's not like restocking by employee makes the game SO much harder. Is it really that big of a deal?
Since it means one less employee in a busy shop, that's $50-$100 / hour right here, $400-$800 a day. So yes, it's a big deal. - Gus You need to work on your hiring practices. I have no employees paid over 40$ an hour. Don't hire employees with skills and badges other than the one job they are being hired for. All it does is raise the cost. Cheap unskilled labor, toss them into their new job at 15$ an hour and as they move toward gold in that one skill, raise their pay to the 30s. Why pay for a charismatic sim who can bake, and make toys to restock when you can pay someone 1/4 the cost who only knows how to restock? All the homeless people, trailer park trash, and mentally challenged sims in my hood are very grateful to get 15$ an hour and be forced to wear their underwear while they work.

With the combination of snapdragons, the sleep on comm lots hacks, and a breakroom with nice beds, breaks work well. Otherwise they are worthless.
Which sleep on comm lots do you use? I found one by Echo at MTS2, and also one on www.djssims.com. I used both (not at the same time), but so far, I haven't found anyone to sleep autonomously. MTS2_248548_Echo_echo_community_sleep

You had no get back to work option? It doesn't say anything like end your break.
If on break the negetivity of telling them to get back to work is almost negated.
Although if low paid and/or very low in needs they will never come back until you send them home for 6 hours or so.

If you have the skill/perk and want an NPC to have it, you can promote them to manager, and then pass on the skill.
Sorry about off topic, but I have a quick question, are you able to pass on your skills more than once (to various sims)? I am sure you can. I haven't tried it though. You may have to relearn the perk though. I think it actually passes the perk on. But any of those ltw=5 high rated business sims have plenty of spare points (30 to be specific).

I play with it on (its in my startup.cheats file) all the time.
I use it for 2 things.
1- seeing when thingsblow up so I can reset/delete them.
2- Killing any sim that pisses me off witha palgue of flies.

There is a perk that helps all your sales interactions go more smoothly, I forget what it's called but it's in the second column from the left.
i think thats the 4th level perception perk, it gives 30% to the effectiveness of your sales interaction, but its only for your business owner, and if you hire npc sales to do your selling (like i do) then its worthless If you have the skill/perk and want an NPC to have it, you can promote them to manager, and then pass on the skill.

Disable the testing cheats. Having them active for long tends to disable the store and management options in my game.
Thats odd. I never play without testngcheats turned on and have never had a problem.

forgot to ask something
Why do I suddenly have pink pigs floating around my n'hood?
I know this was mentioned jokingly in another thread but I couldn't find it *searched* and I would really like to know why they just suddenly showed up.
I saw something about hitting ahuge number of hours played triggering it.

Don't drive to comm lots. Maxis fucked up and you may get bugged and lose that household until they come out witha patch.
Take the taxi. You can bring multiples by "invite another sim".
I've driven to the community lot over a dozen times and not once has it screwed up. Other people haven't had problems either while some people have. I guess it's another one of those bugs where some get it, some don't. Supposedly if you save while at a comm lot with your car, then exit the game (or crash, or whatever) you cannot come back to the lot or the shop.

The only way a sim makes money from the lot is by buying, raising the rank, then selling the lot and better to sell the lot back to the community or a townie NOT a playable sim so the lot will reset back to rank of 0.
Huh? I have a flower/art shop with over 200k of profits.

Manipulate lowers loyalty. hard sell doesn't if it works.
If it fails you get a nice hit to daily and should get a loyalty hit.
And rank DOES play a role. There are more suckers to buy your crap.
Anyway, with a gold sales badge, Max outgoing, high nice, and snapdragons around, you can pretty much spam sell plasma TVs at 10k+ as fast as you can restock them. Its like using a cheat for money if you are a SLLLLLOOOOWWW typist. One dazzle will complete the sale, then invite them to look at the one next to it, dazzle, repeat....
