1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Just got OFB, now community lots won't load! on: 2007 June 03, 21:46:28
I have Uni/NL/OFB and the patches.  Any community lost that has either a cash register or is a resturant just loads and loads and loads.  I can hear the birds chirping but nothing is happening.  Community lots with no commercial ventures like graveyards load quick and easy.  I removed all hacks and tried converting the offending lots to residential to see if I could get in them but no luck. Angry

//EDIT\\  There seems to be an issue with Sims Connection produce type objects.  I suspected this and had removed them but the lots still didn't load.  I can have a sim go to those lots in debug mode and just delete them when the error message comes up.

Nobody ever says anything about eating said sandwich.

That's because the sandwich is for ME whelp!!
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Having problems making plastic surgery genetic with SimPE on: 2007 May 27, 15:01:49
Man that would drive me mad.  I only have Uni and NL.  Just for giiggles, did you try extracting the sim to see what it looked like?  Maybe by some strange miracle, when you upgrade to Seasons, plastic surgery become generic?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Starting over, 'hood-wise on: 2007 May 27, 05:16:48
I'm getting tired of my custom 'hoods. I've got too many of them, there are too many boring, useless sims in them, whine whine. So I'm gonna start over. (Right now, I'm collecting tutorials and asking questions first...)

This is what I want to do.

--Export some born in game sims from my existing custom 'hoods. There's a family I'd like to recreate later.

1. Open SimPE and use the neighborhood browser plugin

2. After it loads use the sims surgery plugin

3. It may take a while to load, go make a sandwich or something. Ok when it is done, an alphabetical list of the characters from your town will be in a separate window.
4. Pick Sim you want to extract and use as prototype for sim surgery. On that top area, there is a link called Extract that has a little thank you text from Quaxi. Just extract to Saved Sims folder. I recomend changing the file name to the name of your sim.

5. Repeat as necessary for all of your beloved sims.

Close SimPE and open Body Shop to make sure everyone is present and accounted for. If you have extracted sims that came with the game or children of game sims there may be no option to delete them. You can use extract for another sim and give it the same name as the one you are tired of and it will overwrite.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE!!

If you changed a sims' ugly maw with Danny's coa or Dr Vu's machine and it want to extract the new look YOU MUST alter the DNA as explained here:

1. Open Simpe, then open your neighbourhood via the neighbourhood browser

2. Open the Sim browser

3. Find the Sim that has recently been to the plastic surgeon (they're listed by their first name) and click "open"

4. You'll see a lot of info. Click on "more" and choose "open character file"

5. Then the character file of your Sim opens. On the left hand side you will see "Facial Structure", click it and on the right hand side two lines will appear (if you've done plastic surgery that is!!!)

6. Right click the second line and choose "Extract..."

7. Save the extracted file in a directory of your choice, KEEP THE ORIGINAL NAME

8. Back in Simpe, right click the first line and choose "Replace..."

9. Then select the file you just extracted. IMPORTANT: use the file with the .simpe extension NOT the file with the .xml extension!!!

10. The first line will go italics, telling you that it's been changed. Click "Save" and you're all done!

5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bigger screen pictures on: 2007 May 17, 05:35:12
I could do that for Photoshop but I think it only does one pic at a time.  With the freebee program mentioned in the tread, I can do unlimited ones as long as I don't have the preview first option selected.  This new custom computer I have is a monster.  I thought the game looked good on my other one but man this one is so fast and sharp.  Game takes less than thrree minutes to load and I have quite a bit of cc.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bigger screen pictures on: 2007 May 17, 04:42:34
Thanks.  Don't know why this didn't come up in search here or at MTS2.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bigger screen pictures on: 2007 May 17, 03:16:48
Is there a way to get the game to make bigger screen caps than 600x450?  I have gunmod's camera hack which is great for closeups but I want bigger caps.

KILL IT!!
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 05, 20:09:38
Hmmm, wonder why she decided to pull up stakes now without really giving notice to anyone.

Because she could.  Sometimes running a popular site just gets to be a PITA and pulling the rug out from everyone is what you want to do.  She didn't owe anyone a warning, though it would have been a nice gesture.  Maybe it is better to burn out than to fade away.

Or maybe this is a belated April's fools.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for hacks to prevent these annoying behaviours on: 2006 April 01, 21:00:51
Can someone tell me if there have been any OFB-compatible hacks made for these:

1) blocking ALL bubble baths for every Sim forever?  Gawd, they annoy me -- as if a Sim gets any cleaner by taking one! Grrr..
2) blocking every/ANY kind of kickybag crap, regardless of place? I'm so sick of having to unblock those damned things!
3) blocking all Punch-You-Punch-Me, or at the very least, having Sims substitute a game of Red Hands instead?

1)  Use bathroom Uses You to make them use the bathroom properly or else just install showers w/o tubs.
2)  MTS2 has this, I think it is made by Targa.
3)  MTS2 has this, it is made by Monique who has a bunch of good no automony hacks.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bartenders not showing up on: 2006 March 22, 06:32:56
I have a fresh new hood made with deleteall...  I have Uni, Hoiliday Pack and NL, no OFB.  The bartenders don't show up in the main neighborhood.  They do show up in downtown though.  I usually use the Oasis bar.  I do not have the NPC spam problem.  They did show up at first when I was testing all the comm lots but they all on strike now.  Please help me and my bunny.

12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Fun pack at *GRASPS* $20.00! on: 2006 March 16, 22:31:12
Given how many people in the community subscribe to pay sites, make 'donations' for items  Roll Eyes and otherwise pay for user created custom content (that does not contain interactions; it's just stuff) I predict these packs will be a smashing success unfortunately.

But in that case people can pick and choose what they want instead of a whole CD of ugly ass shit from Maxis.  I'd rather waste my money doing something satisfying like punking people on ebay or um, giving it to orphans and widows.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whenever I refer to a toddler flirting, I'm actually joking on: 2006 March 16, 06:50:17
Not totally related but my game just generated a mailman.  I went to change his looks and clothes with the COA panel and I see he has a locked want to flirt with a little boy in the neighborhood he obviously has never even met.   HuhHuh?  I got criminals in my hood but no one asked for a pedophile ok?

15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Im bored sooooooo, Which front page do you like? on: 2006 March 10, 05:04:54
I just want to say that the banner with Rennie or whatever her name is wasn't done by me.  I didn't even know who that was when I saw it.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More dumbasss weird stuff on: 2006 March 10, 01:12:16
LOL!  Did you try resetting him with boolProp?  The only other thing I can think of is try to see if any plumbing is broken and fix or replace it because it looks like the ani for the broken shower.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CONFESS! How many of you pay for downloads? on: 2006 February 24, 04:17:19
I have a themed hood so I am picky about what matches it.  Plus I think most stuff sucks anyway.  I have paid for a few little things but they are things I use all the time like Sussi's skins (the only skins I like).  I don't "do" subscriptions though I don't mind donating to some sites.  One site pissed me off last year though, myself and some others gave them decent donations and then a week later they said someone hurt their widdle feelings so they were not gonna make anything anymore.  Oh nice going you spineless ass.

If people want to subscribe to sites or pay for downloads, who cares?  No one died from them doing that.

*nods* I agree.. very cute bunny.

Maybe she had a different avatar before your post but that's a baby white chinchilla and it looks like it is being weighed in a gram scale.  It's what breeders and owners use to make sure the chinny is not underweight.

I did Sim Surgery to try to change 2 skintones and the stupid thing only changed their faces and nothing else!  I restored the backup copy of my game to fix the screw up.
19  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: First Middle Last Name Lists on: 2006 February 14, 21:43:43
Save them to your computer and look at them when you need a name.

One word for you:  wordwrap.  How do you expect people to read all that garbage?  More like look at them when you want to have a seizure.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My toddler wants to buy new clothes? on: 2006 February 14, 21:40:26
I get this too.  I don't think it is anything serious.  If you have Danny's COA panel you can have it buy clothes from there and it will roll.  Otherwise ignore it.
21  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.31 (02/01/06) on: 2006 February 05, 17:48:05
I get a warning even though I do not use bed time or bed time warning.  It happens to a sim in a household where the sim is single and living with a couple.  I don't get the unwanted warning in other arrangements.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Married after death - She cant remarry on: 2006 February 01, 00:40:34
I have the post mortem hack from pescado. Should I get rid of it?  Huh

I used to have the problem all the the time until I got rid of the post mortum hack.  You will have to unlink her in SimPE to get her to remarry.

Oh lord man.  This is really needed.  They do it when there's another computer available too!!  Thanks yo.
24  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.3 (01/24/06) on: 2006 January 24, 20:22:34
I have bed time off and bed warning off but sometimes I get an annoying pop up that says "so and so's estemated bedtime is less than an hour."  If I cared, I'd turn the warning on.

Edit:  This seems to have stopped with this new version.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Outside garbage cans.... on: 2006 January 18, 21:15:49
The mailbox cannot be moved away from the street without causing things to be screwed up, since the mailbox is used as a positional marker for things. It must always be facing the street like so, although you can move it a few tiles left or right without harm.

What about the phone booth for community lots?  I have had problems whrn I move a tombstone to a comm lot, then place it somewhere.  The sims mourns by the phone instead of where I put the grave.  Then I have the lot freeze up (I guess the ghost is trying to spawn) and in buld mode, if I move the phone booth on the cemetery lot, it freezes up everything.  I have had to redo 2 graveyards because of this.
