I was under the impression that you shouldn't mess with the global one in Program Files, but just create the User one in My Docs. *shrug* I've no idea if it really matters or not.

I think you have to manually create the file.  Just pasting the list into Wordpad will do, just make sure that it ends in .cheat and not .doc or whatever, else it won't work.

Man, have you checked out Inge's new mortgage shrubs? When you place 'em, it gives money into the account, and takes it away when you sell them.  Place enough of them on a lot before placing a family and you can reduce the cost of the house as much as you want.  IIRC, the shrubs even accrue interest charges.

The tilde key will shrink the cheat window to the original single line box. Click insde the box to get a cursor and then hit Escape for the box to close.


Assuming you are talking about "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true", more correctly known as "debug mode" or "testing mode" are you sure you are typing it correctly? You could also try aliasing it to make it easier to key in.  MikeInside has a basic tutorial on creating startup cheats.

A problem with this is that once you copy over the objects.package (in NL at least), you erase the patching on said objects.package and you cannot reapply the patch. I've no idea how to get around that, short of a reinstall.  I was a guinea pig for this experiment shortly after the patch came out and wound up reinstalling in order to fix a corrupted objects.package.

I usually go in and drop a bright red-flowered shrub on the corners of the property, save and exit. I have gotten in the habit of checking for the shrub before I'll move a family in because I've screwed up so many promising families with pre-Uni house bullshit.

I've had that happen when I used the Flamingo of Doom to kill a simkid with "fright" and one or two other death types. I guess because it shouldn't be available to a kid and the game doesn't know how to handle it. The teleportation thing works to fix it.

If you are interested, there is a Flavor Pack for the inTeenimator that prevents miscarriage unless you force it via the biological clock.

Really? That is weird. I guess I should have had it read in my earlier statement that it's been my experience with tons of deletions that the extra file is gone when I restart.  I know nothing about the way the files actually work.   

...Just for future reference, that seems to happen when textures are linked together somehow like counter recolors that come with a countertop--delete the counter texture and you lose the top texture as well.  The top will still look like it's still there, but once you restart the game it will be gone. That's why it looked like deleting the cache file fixed it.   I must say that deleting the cache is still a great quick fix-it for a lot of stuff for some reason though.

Is your card cooled enough?  I'm still trucking along using 61.77 with the 6800 Ultra and haven't seen any glitches. I do remember Helena said that driver doesn't fix the specularity thing, but since I don't really understand that, I don't miss it. 

Isn't that the pre-Uni-house-effect?  Trying to move a Uni-made sim into a pre-uni house is disaster. 
It's the only reason I despise reinstalling because I have to go back through and enter each house, drop a bush, and save it before I can actually PLAY.

I read (not always reliable source) that some of the bugs fixed in the NL patch were broken again with the Holiday pack. Have you got that? Can anyone confirm or refute?

My game works fine; I use all of those hacks in a Uni/NL game(no Holiday pack) with three exceptions--Lizzlove's no privacy, marriage- traditional, no college obsession.

I was this way with Sims1 too.  I modded the hell out of my game, and still wound up only building in it.  I could not stay interested in the actual SIMS until Sims2 came out.

Bah. I have 175 files in my hacks folder.  That DOES include multi-part hacks like the inTeen though. Thank God for whoever pointed me to that program that conveniently prints out my folders.    Edit:  Mm, I just noticed about 6 or so objects that made it into that folder too.  Still, I've got at least 150.
