Now to me those lighter shades do not say fur.  They say skin disease.  The cut off point is just plain wee-urd.  Or sloppy.  Or both.
2  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! February: SKINS on: 2008 February 20, 08:44:53
Does the creator have shares in major sweet making companies?

Clearly this is an attempt to make a sim look like a liquorice allsort.  The pink horror below is from the Haribo range of e-numbers.

So.  Where is the chocolate coated Mars Bar sim your neighbourhood has always needed?  (Actually, I realise this is an incredibly dumb thing to ask.  Someone will have made it).

Blimey o riley.

Now I'm all for variety in my neighbourhoods and I'd defend anyone's wish to put whatever they want in their own Pleasantville, but for land's sakes, at least be a little discriminating about what can be regarded as shareable.

There's nothing here I'd want to use, but some of it is at least decently executed (one man's meat and so on).  It's the sheer scale of sloppiness that's so very disturbing.  Did these folks even think?

"Mouldy Fruit Salad" just cracks me up as a comment.  So very accurate.
4  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: January More Awful Than You! Pets, pets, pets... on: 2008 January 28, 09:20:03
Doesn't work for me either.  And because I'm extremely fair-minded, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tilted my head both left and right.  With and without my glasses.

Not Yoda unless Yoda has an alternate persona we know nothing about.
5  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The bork pool for L&P Sims 2 "Free Time / Hobbies / Numpty Crap" EP7 on: 2008 January 22, 08:31:20
Rumour (in the form of Snooty Sims) says that the new creature will be the Genie.  http://www.snootysims.com/

Oh joy.  EAxis have decided to revive something already ill-concieved from TS1 and insert it into TS2 with added numptitude.

The potential for horror with this ep grows all the time.  Pescado is going to be a busy bunny.
6  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The bork pool for L&P Sims 2 "Free Time / Hobbies / Numpty Crap" EP7 on: 2008 January 17, 10:57:43
Because this is EA.

You can imagine the meetings.

"We could include some useful things, like corner baths and counters that link up to island units"
"Nah - our demographics show that what players really, really want is another ton of enormous polycount decorative crap to strew around and make the game run incredibly slowly"
"You're so right.  I know!  Let's give them an enormous Llama statue in multiple horrible colours which will randomly kill sims who try to pet it"
"Stuff useful appliances, go with the exploding Llama"
7  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The bork pool for L&P Sims 2 "Free Time / Hobbies / Numpty Crap" EP7 on: 2008 January 12, 20:56:16
I am a numpty - give me my £5.

Is this true only of snow related activities?  If I make a sim chat for hours to a neighbour wearing a coat will he chill slower than if he chats for hours in his underwear?

If not, my entire household is going into swimsuits for the whole year, which is what they seem to want to do most days anyway.
8  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The bork pool for L&P Sims 2 "Free Time / Hobbies / Numpty Crap" EP7 on: 2008 January 12, 00:02:19
It's a fundamental rule of simming that any autonomous activity will be infuriating, time consuming and lethal.  For preference, EA seem to like it best when those activities add a stuck object or bugger up your portals.

There is no reason I can see to think this new EP will be any different.  It will just have added shiney numptitude.
9  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The bork pool for L&P Sims 2 "Free Time / Hobbies / Numpty Crap" EP7 on: 2008 January 11, 12:59:02
I am laying confident bets on any item containing "EA" in the title becoming the only thing ever to appear in the wants list.  Whatver these wants are, they will be worth minimal aspiration points.  They will be immediately rerolled on fulfillment.  World without end.  Pleasure sims will become even more of a pain in the bum than they already are.  "Play EA FIFA 2009", "Play MySims", "Play Spore", "Get in zone playing game" ...

Each game will take two sim hours to find and load.  No child will get to school on time because left to themselves for only seconds, they will be locked into a "go and get game from upstairs bedroom, whine for half a sim hour because someone else is using the only console they consider available, insert game, play game, have hysterics because of missed school" cycle.

Cars will collapse and die on use.  A car repairperson will be a new and useless NPC, spawning in gigantic quantities, along with "wild bohemian artists".

The teddy bear construction kit is doomed.  Nobody will ever finish making a teddy bear, because every item in any given queue will be stomped by the passionate desire to "go and help make bear" for all sims on the lot.

Easels will be the new piano and will cease to work at all.  If they do work, they will have the draining abilities of green snapdragon smoke.

The more I think about this, the more I likely to give the whole thing a miss.
10  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 13, 08:31:04
I'm this close to creating a special hell dimension for bad Townies.  It will be forever winter and they will be forced to wear those clothes and walk past decorated cows for the rest of their simmie lives ...  Jan Tellerman will eternally walk around with that candy cane stuck to her bum.

All these threads tend to inspire me with those kinds of feelings, but this one is a bit extra special.
11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! November: "Fucked up Make-up!" on: 2007 November 24, 00:32:17

This was just posted at MTS2, so it's disqualified as a late entry, but I thought it worth pointing and laughing at.

Soooo.  I've hideously burned or ulcerated my lips and I'm absolutely going to cover them with lip gloss because that will make it all better.  Is this the reasoning behind these creations?  Pointing and laughing, but slightly bewildered by the oddness.
12  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 30, 22:38:27
I know, they're disqualified on all counts except that they made me go "WTF?"

Exnem's mind, let us remember also brought us the delights of confectionary furnishing, so that's a place I probably wouldn't want to delve into.
13  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 30, 11:10:44
liveangel and Denimjo

I couldn't find the hot tub, but I found the Freaky Monstrous Terlet, if anyone is intersted. I reckon they are moar scary than the monsters they are modeled after.

You mean this thread?

Yup.  Those be they.  Enough to give any sim a dentist phobia.  Thanks for sorting my unawesome linkage.
14  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 29, 21:00:38
Boglins.  OK trying again.

www.exnemsims.com

It's on the front page, off to the left.  Hottub with scarey teeth.  Also bizarre matching bathtubs and monster toilets.

I have to say that although I'd never use them, my 11 year old just wandered past and said "Wow mum, those are fantastic, can I have them?" which produced my standard rant about the evilness of paysites.

Point being, they may not be WTF at all.  Except to me.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 29, 17:13:51
These bath/hot tubs from Exnem gave me a real WTF moment.

Alas, they are disqualified because (a) they came out too late and (b) they have a clear purpose and presumably function.  Also (c) I can kind of see WhyTF in certain sim lives.

They're still up there with Viscera Woman for me though.

http://www.exnemsims.com/forum/showthread.php?

Technical numptiness and general lack of awesome anyness means no piccies until I work out how.  The link should be OK however.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request, nay Demand! for a new FAQ on: 2007 June 02, 11:59:07
evilredduckie - thanks.  Taken and usen.  Stuffen up sister's nose not really an option as she's bigger than me.  But very tempting.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maybe you can solve this. on: 2007 May 21, 22:29:04
As Lorelei says, try turning the shaders off.  In case you need to know, just type

boolprop useshaders false

into the cheat menu on the Neighbourhood screen.  This did work for me after many months of frustration.  I had the appallling black screen of suckitude after installing OFB and precisely nothing else worked.  Good luck and I hope you do find a solution.  Personally I was close to acquiring a lovely new set of Sims disk coffee mug coasters.
18  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 13, 22:28:58
Oh good grief.  At this point I'm really curious ... just what is going through these people's heads?

Do they wake up in the morning, switch on the computer and think to themselves
.... "Hmmm.  Now what shall I build today?  What can I possibly create that will render my game ugly and have no discernable function whatever?  And having done that, how can I colour and texture it to make it even more useless"

I'm just asking, because some of this stuff is incomprehensible.  One man's meat and so on, but I cannot seriously imagine many people want this stuff in their games for any purpose other than cynicism.  Oh, right - now I understand.

*wanders off to create a brand new neighbourhood which will be entirely filled with FeeEssen and Buntah furnishing and clothes*
19  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 12, 07:43:40
If FeeEssen meshes it, can Buntah do the textures?  Pretty please?
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: May "More Awful Than You": Buttugly Brokeass Furniture on: 2007 May 12, 07:29:06
It's a terlet for the Ethiopian challenge.  Placed behind bars, so you show it to your toddler and say "Now *this* is why we use bushes in our family ... but if you're a really bad sim, we'll open the cage and leave you in there with it."  Would work for me if I was a simkid.
21  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Apr "More Awful Than You" CC Treasure Hunt: Whore Clothes on: 2007 April 08, 23:15:20
These are fantastically strange, distressing and hilarious all at once.  Masterpieces, each and every one of them.

Somewhere in one of my many backed up and discarded downloads folders I have a TSR treatlet consisting of a couple of strategically placed spider's webs, categorised as everyday.

I am now inspired to go and find it to share.  It's special.

Greatly helpful, many thanks.  I shall nail him to the floor and get him to give me a hand with this and see how it goes.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 29, 23:11:22
Ah, thank you!

I'll try it.
24  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 29, 10:33:06
Gosh - well this is very interesting.  It's not actually resolved the problem, but I've got a few more ideas to play with at least - for which many thanks.

It's definitely Sims2 only that's causing my black screen crisis.  At least based on the programmes I use.  I can play DVDs, point and clicks, and run everything else for as long as needed without any trouble at all.  Highly computer literate husband reckons it's a memory leak problem, which may be so.  I'm most reluctant to cough up any more money for another graphics card, so at the moment I'm just nagging EA to sort it out for me.  To be fair they are trying, but so far without success.  I'm hoping that if I keep bleating at them long enough (along with I'm sure thousands of others), they may feel they have to take steps.  It's not a great hope, but it's a hope.
25  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Grief, woe, despair and hideous black screens on: 2006 November 25, 18:11:51
Updating the BIOS is about the only thing I haven't tried yet.  Thanks for the tip - I will see if this helps.
