2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Critique of a future possible Sleekness? (looking at a new computer) on: 2009 March 28, 16:59:56
If you're wondering why your 32-bit system sees slightly under 4 GB it's because some of those reserved addresses are used to identify devices on the computer (keyboard, bios, sound card, etc.)
Heh, I remember taking up my Google cudgel and thrashing that truth out of teh interwebs after I doubled up my 2GB and wondered where some of the extra had gone.
Can anyone explain why my x64 does this?
3  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Hack Directory - All Hacks on: 2009 February 21, 15:57:24
Serves me right for only typing half a post. Tongue

I did not realise they were related, or that one required the other and creaturefixes is available separately.
I think I have worked it out, but cannot find this specifically referenced.

yellowpee.zip contains yellowpee.package and creaturefixes.package
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Game hates me. Can't uninstall. on: 2008 December 19, 10:21:28
Thank-you for your suggestions and apologies for the delay.
I managed to fubar the whole thing and had to delete the game files and re-install. So far I am testing in Bloatville. The only skins I hve are Amber's female nude overlays, so I do not think it will have been that.
As I mentioned, the birth crashes were seemingly random, and it turns out they were. I use TJ's triplets and quads and often choose the random option. As far as I can tell, it crashed when trying to create more than 2 babies. I did have the latest version, but so far so good without it. I may run over to Simbology if I really want it back.
6  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Game hates me. Can't uninstall. on: 2008 December 14, 18:53:18
I have had crashing problems for some time now. I usually get crash to desktop just as a baby is being born, but this is not always the case and the game lasts for different periods based on nothing I can work out.
Being sick of this I decided to try the standard EAxis un/re-install process, but can't.
I cannot uninstall my game. I tried the menu links, the application in the game folder, and the Add/Remove programs. Short of deleting and hand cleaning the registry, I don't know what to do. (Is it necessary to clean the registry if I'm going to reinstall?)

Does anyone have any suggestions?
7  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Problem fishing in one pond on: 2008 November 08, 15:19:35
This is stupid. You should be able to click on the sim to have them fish.
Oh Great One, is there no way to include fishing in the skillinator?
The option already exists, under "Business".
I just updated my awesomeware and Be Fisherman disappeared from the sargeant box. I played the same lot minutes before and after updating.
Did it move?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Grades and Aging on: 2008 November 08, 08:36:29
Where will you begin to look?
Obviously not on this page, despite you helpfully providing them with a direct link.

Damn you, Lana B! You stole my hedge maze idea before I'd even built it. Not fair!
Sorry witch, but it is a castle (that is, it is meant to be a castle). I was remembering a trip to Hampton Court Palace while I was building. The original maze was much bigger, but all those hedges made moving the camera, even in build mode, a nightmare.

I love your pool maze Jim. I did it myself so many times in Sims1, I'm disappointed in myself for not thinking of it.

I'm a bit late, but as I did the work a while back, I thought I might as well tack it on the end. I kept all the platforms, but changed the style somewhat. I failed in my attempts to make it day.

Ground floor plan:

The highest platform is on a separate tower. I couldn't resist making a Captured Princess Room at the top.

*I have everything up to and including AL. Once again I failed to keep the phone hack out. My apologies. One day I will work it out.
11  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: September on: 2008 September 11, 21:34:37
Lana, I downloaded your house through Firefox, but when I tried to install it the clean installer gave me an error message.

It looks like a really nice house though.
Boo. Hiss
I have put the file somewhere else and changed the original link. The quoted link still points to the original upload which I will leave in case it works for some.

If someone gets it to work, please let me know.
12  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: September on: 2008 September 09, 19:06:41
I added a link to the file. I tried playing it, but I have no idea whether it will stand for proper playing.
I have everything up to and including AL, but managed to include the phone hack and Pes' Humble computer so use Clean Installer.
13  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: September on: 2008 September 08, 21:56:10
I decided to do something constructive for a change.
I have made hardly any changes to the building, just internal walls, and my usual boring decorating style. i can't bring myself to use furniture, walls or floors that I hate.
It can be awesomespecced. I divided the garden to allow for private stuff. There's one door dividing the house. There's no nursery, so not a spawning house as is. There are 2 public bathrooms and space for a public pond and/or pool should they be desired. Bedrooms are unfurnished. I always delete the beds from others' lots anyway as I insist on high comfort.
I don't do landscaping. I just dumped a few bits in so it wasn't too naked. (See treeless 'hood in background for further proof)
See the wonders of a virtually unchanged house.
Front: See the treeless hill, but faked garden!

Downstairs: Marvel at the sameness of the house!

Upstairs: Be awed by the cramped emptiness

Living room: Be grateful I didn't furnish your house!

Dining room: Oooh! Chairs!

Kitchen: I'm running out of fake enthusiasm!

The back bit: Decorated walls and caffination station!

Some random at a community lot networked at me and offered to put me in touch with his friend Therapist.
I refused, assuming this was a VBT.
Is there a hack for this?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: More bullshit from Massive Shithead on: 2007 December 11, 23:02:12
Doesn't always work.
We signed up last year some time and still get calls. My tactic with them is to make sure I get their name, the company name spelt correctly and ask them to tell their manager that I will be reporting the company. It took months to get the calls down even though TPS says it should take one. The report form is really tedious and demands heaps of information so I don't always follow up. Simply saying I signed up to TPS doesn't put them all off.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge's age duration hack: how to modify? on: 2007 December 07, 02:05:53
Birene, also remember that this hack only changes the ages for NEW sims that are created or born.  All of your existing sims will remain just as they were.  Have you tried it yet with a new sim?
Actually, it will kick in at the next birthday.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Teen Prom -- what hacks can make this happen? on: 2007 November 30, 18:28:38
Is there not a motivedecay cheat that could help with 4?
18  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2007 October 25, 23:22:55
1. Pause
2. Summon dead sim (I use Inge's teleport shrub, Insim also works)
3. Make dead sim selectable
4. Use lotdebugger to queue tombstone spawn action
5. unpause then repause as soon as tombstone has appeared.
6. make dead sim unselectable
7. unpause game (dead sim will disappear)
8. The end

Note: steps 6 & 7 may not be necessary but I like to do it anyway.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is someone can tell me if the game is compatible on a Quad 64bits? on: 2007 October 24, 23:40:40
I'm running on XP Pro 64bit. It works, mostly.

I think my issues are with BV but, as I have had this machine less than a month, I have not run any other game combination on it.
20  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 22, 00:06:41
low terrain and ponds on pre-built lots don't mix. I've found they will punch holes in the terrain - removing the offending lot and entering a different hood and then returning, seems to fix those holes.

Ponds 'dug' after the lot is placed are fine, as long as you don't try to move the lot to a different spot afterwards. That includes moving it to the lot bin and back, it will punch a hole, package it instead, if you want to save it.
Ah, I did not know that. I don't move or package lots very often and I have previously only been concerned about how flat a terrain is, not its altitude.
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 20, 00:03:52
I used the same SleepyCat terrain to make the new 'hood so it's all completely flat too.

I did do my own lot and it was happy enough being packaged, installed and placed in my game. If anyone is able to see if I can transplant out, that would tell us something.

Hut differs slightly from Jolrei's.
22  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 19, 18:57:58
I reinstalled the sims2pack and placed the lot in another 'hood with the same result. I entered it in build mode while unoccupied, just in case that helped.  Tongue  Maybe this is one of those YMMV issues. I was fairly lucky, not encountering several common issues with NL on my laptop. It looks like I've run out of luck on that score.

The next obvious thing to try is packaging a lot myself and seeing if that will transplant successfully. If I actually do this, I'll report back.
23  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 18, 20:35:49
I'm afraid I deleted the lot from the catalogue (still on the PC somewhere as sims2pack) and ditched the 'hood too as I placed it badly and made the road go under water.
The file is clean, just the lot.package, and the terrain was fine (I used one of SleepyCat's, Sandbar1?) it was only the ocean that broke. I'll give it another go when I go back in game.
24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: The SC4 Terrain I did so I could have more beach lots on: 2007 October 18, 13:48:09
Jolrei, I tried your beach hut, which I quite like, but the beach was broken for me. No waves, couldn't swim. Sand activities were still possible. This was the first lot in a brand new 'hood.
Has anyone had a successful transplant?
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Uni making too many prof's in SaraMK's merged hood on: 2007 October 18, 09:58:19
It's possible that this is an EAxian "feature" which they introduced with a later EP. It's the sort of thing they would do, force extra character files on us.
