I also have lotfullofsims and all my households load and play fine. I don't think any of them have got past 8 members since I installed FT though, so I guess that's not very definitive.
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lot Sync Timer: how do YOU use it? on: 2008 March 07, 18:00:51
I also play each family a full season, or 5 days. Then I play Uni sub hood 2x3 days = 1 study year. This of course leads to very long study period for the students, they are gone a full seasonal year from the original hood, which is a long time even if they enroll at 10 days into teen-hood. I am contemplating speeding it up and do 2 study years in one rotation..  I use the LST to keep track of the total amount of days played.

That is a lot of time to have them away, a little brother or sister who was a baby when they left would be nearly an adult when they got back, surely? Or their parents would have died of old age. That seems a little excessive!

I can't play my lots on a one day rotation, loading times are too long for me and also I couldn't bring myself to leave a family after just one day, I like to give time for interesting things to happen so I get used to their personalities and can rememebr what I was intending for them to do. When I leave a household at the end of a season I've often forgotten by the time I get back round to it!

I don't think I've patched since sometime before Pets, although when I installed FT it did say "you're installation is already up to date." I thought that was a check to see if you had the latest patches, but either it isn't or the game got it wrong because it's so long since I downloaded a patch I can't even remember which one it was.

I've never had a major bug or problem with my game, and hardly any minor ones. The only real problem I remember having was due to an un-updated hack, which obviously has nothing to do with the patches.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Suggestion: READMe labeling for mass downloaders on: 2008 March 07, 17:46:56
The hacks here are always zipped so even if you download a bunch at the same time it's only one extra double click to open the zip file once you've downloaded it and read the manual. That way you can still unzip the whole lot at once (to save on copying and pasting) but you've already read the manual so it doesn't matter if it's overwritten. Or you could rename them yourself before unzipping them to the destination folder.

I know this doesn't work for rar folders though sadly.
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Replacing the Kitten Killer on: 2008 March 07, 17:29:11
I actually have created LESS love-keeping, because frankly, it's annoying as hell that they keep them FOREVER.

I agree, that teens keep loves hack is one that I have never downloaded because it would just be too damn annoying to have them running round in love with half the neighbourhood and it's not exactly hard to have them fall in love again if you really want them too.

Since I installed your hack that stops them falling in love so easily things have been much better, but less love-keeping would be awesome, is it available to the public or just something you have in your own game? I don't think I've ever seen it around...
81  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lot Sync Timer: how do YOU use it? on: 2008 March 06, 18:25:06
I play using the season to keep up my rotation as well, before that I didn't really have a system. With the whole going to college thing I only let them go the day they are due to become an adult because I don't actually mind the teen stage. What I then do is I figure it out at one college year for every sim day, so if I have two teens go to college on the first day of the season they would be in fourth year by the end of the rotation, whereas a teen that went on the final day of the rotation would have just finished first year at the end of the rotation.

I don't keep really accurate notes of this though and I don't use the lot sync timer, so probably some of them end up on the wrong schedule depending on what I decide. I use the college adjuster to speed them through college and they only take the end of year exams, never the halfway exams, to prevent memory spam with the Deans list thing (although I don't allow them all to get full marks every term).

The kids return in the next season so if they leave in autumn it will be winter when they return to the main 'hood, although sometimes that means they've left university in the spring depending on how long I've spent playing them on the university lots!
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can I delete a university in game? on: 2008 March 06, 18:10:51
Thanks for the advice. I was worried that deleting the uni might delete the sims ......
fyi - It wouldn't have deleted the sims.  When you delete any sub-hood, playables just get dumped in the simbin.  You need to clean up potential messes though, like dormies in dorms or owned businesses in a sub-hood.

That's really good to know actually, I might consider deleting the downtown in that neighbourhood then since I never use it!
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Always twins in any pregnant. Help!!! on: 2008 March 05, 23:30:20
Despite reading rather a lot about it I never quite got that whole re-randomiser thing on the lot debugger, what exactly does it randomise? I know randomises something to do with births to eliminate the first-born effect but I never quite understood what. Is it the personality points? And by first-born effect does that mean the first born in every family, or just the first sim born everytime you reload the game?

I only ask because I have only used this option once and I couldn't really see what effect it had. I haven't noticed a lot of sims born in game with the same personality (I think in one family a twin had the same personality as her older sister, but that's the only time it seems to have happened).
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can I delete a university in game? on: 2008 March 05, 17:02:26
Thanks for the advice. I was worried that deleting the uni might delete the sims and cause problems and I hadn't thought about moving the playables that came with the 'hood to the sim bin (like the Greek House people) so it's a good job I checked. I have both those hacks you mentioned jsalemi already so I guess I'm good to go!
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can I delete a university in game? on: 2008 March 05, 11:48:15
I have a neighbourhood that I've been playing on and off ever since the base game came out and when the uni ep came out I added one of the standard Maxis unis to it. Later on I decided I'd rather have a custom uni and added a second university hood to the game.

Is it safe for me to delete the first university hood? All the professors and dormies from that hood appear in the second uni hood so I assume they are shared between the two, are they specifically linked to the first uni hood though?
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Obsessive Diary-Writing on: 2008 March 04, 10:41:33
I'm glad this isn't just me. My sims used to annoy me by writing in their diaries before FT, now they drive me crazy with it. One of them started doing it as his birthday party the other day!
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Abandonated Mods Needing Updates for Free Time on: 2008 March 04, 10:40:43
Okay, I'll add:

from squinge:
CallToDinnerFix
NoAutonomousFishing
noautonomoustalkthrough
noautonomousTVChannelChanging
PaintFaster
StopWatchingFire.package
TalkLecture.package

Is noautonomoustalkthrough something to do with the teddy bears? If so TwoJeffs has a hack that does that over at Inteen. Stopwatchingfire I assume from the name does something similar to Pescado's firemod so you could perhaps use that instead?

I added some custom foods for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago, but was annoyed to find that despite the excellence of the foods in other ways the 'call to dinner' option does not appear on the serving plates. Also since I installed FT some of them have stopped working, which I find rather odd.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FreeTime questions on: 2008 March 03, 23:34:08
Oddly I've never had any sims wander into my house randomly without being invited in, except for the occasional time when I've used the phone to invite them over. Sometimes then they just wander in without ringing the bell, but since I invited them I'm not too bothered.

Maybe it's down to the right combination of hacks, I have one that stops visitors raiding the fridge and various others to prevent more annoying guest behaviour.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Big Foot Hair and Beard taking my cc over on: 2008 March 03, 23:25:38
Only vaguely related to the topic at hand, but when I open up body shop, very often the randomly generated adult male that's made if you generate a random sim ends up having the Bigfoot hair/beard, even though it's a hidden hair. Same thing happened with the Santa hat when I had a hack that kept it hidden. This wasn't a CC problem, mind, it just used those hairs at random.

That happens to me too. Everytime I open bodyshop and click to create a new sim I get that stupid bigfoot hair! I have no idea why because I don't have any missing meshes or anything, I'm meticulous about keeping my custom hairs tidy in my downloads folder and within the game. (The rest of it is a mess, but the hairs are tidy!)
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lifetime Membership indeed! on: 2008 March 02, 23:53:18
I'm glad someone else has mentioned that, I thought it was my imagination when a sleeping sim got the icon for gaining interest in music and dance earlier today. I haven't deleted any sims without following Deleted 2 though so maybe EA just messed up.

Also I played the new FT neighbourhood for a bit before I put in all my CC and went to play my normal neighbourhood and some of the sims there got their one true hobby highlighted without ever doing anything towards it. Since this happened in a fresh neighbourhood in a game with any hacks or CC it's either a feature or something EA screwed up.
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Always twins in any pregnant. Help!!! on: 2008 March 02, 23:47:18
That's very true. I think I give the benefit of the doubt too often. I was thinking along the lines of either, the OP either hadn't expressed the fact that their sims have not eaten any cheesecake clearly because it's not their first language, or that they hadn't really understood the whole thing about cheesecake causing twins 100% of the time prior to this thread because I suppose the explanation is a little complex if your English isn't 100%.

I'm clearly overthinking this now. Time for bed I think.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Some content has disappeared from my game! on: 2008 March 02, 23:15:25
Since I've installed FT I've noticed that a few of my custom objects no longer work. They appear in the catalogue but when I click on them I can't actually put them into the sims houses. I thought this might be a GUID problem. Is that likely to be what it is or is it just that the expansion pack has broken a random selection of objects? If it is the GUIDs is there anything I can do about it?

Also I have noticed that a pair of Maxis trousers from the base game no longer show up. These were working fine before I installed FT and I was wondering if this was something EA did to break them. If someone could check these trousers in their game I'd be grateful. It's a pair of adult male trousers, they are the sort of tan colour with creases down the front and come with either white or brown sneakers (possibly other colours too). It's the ones with the brown shoes that don't seem to work; if I dress my sim in them he gets a pair of red trousers instead.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Always twins in any pregnant. Help!!! on: 2008 March 02, 23:09:08
I donīt think the cheesecake has nothing to do in my case. Anyway, next time iīll play i will try to remove the CC and triy a new pregnant and letīs see what happen. i will let you know. Thanks all of you.

If they are eating cheesecake, then it has everything to do with it.  Roll Eyes
In the OP's defense, s/he used a double negative. So cheesecake has everything to do with it.

As further defence: it does sound as if English isn't their first language. If it is then, um....

you are supposed to be BFF's after 2 days of being best friends.

What!?! That's ridiculous. I can be really close friends with someone for months then lose contact with them and never speak to them again. I know sims don't live as long but two days is lame. Pescado has a made hack that stops them making BFF with anyone after they leave the child stage and the more I hear about this ridulous BFF thing the more I'm tempted to download it. I really didn't want to at first since my sims don't tend to make best friends with anyone until they are teens and I would like to see some BFF things occuring. The ideal for me would really be that it takes at least 5-7 days to make a BFF and they stop making them once they leave the teen stage.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Abandonated Mods Needing Updates for Free Time on: 2008 March 01, 23:57:35
Jordi's version of LotFullOfSims (I believe at least three different people have made versions) is reported to work with Bon Voyage.  Hackdiff reports no changes needed, so IN THEORY, it may work with Free Time also.  We won't know for sure until one of the awesome has a look at it or a whole lotta people have tried it and reported their experience, so if anyone has a test 'hood they're willing to risk for the cause, please do.

Ok, well lotfullofsinms definitely worked with BV for me, so if hackdiff isn't reporting any problems for FT either I'll stick it in my game and see what happens. I'll let you know of the results!

Whilst I'm here I might as well ask about harderhardergrades. I love this hack but I've just done a search and it looks as if it hasn't been updated since before BV, although it did work with BV. Is this correct? I have no idea if the creator is still active or not.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Abandonated Mods Needing Updates for Free Time on: 2008 March 01, 16:45:13
I've been looking through my downloads folder to update all my hacks and I noticed I still have eatmoretalkless by crammyboy installed. I guess I should take that out since it doesn't work anymore and noeatcrap (which I also have) does pretty much the same thing anyway!

Also I have lotfullofsims in my game and it was working until Freetime, although I don't think it's been updated since before BV has it? I tried to go hunting for the place I downloaded it from to see whether people were reporting that it still worked but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where this mod originally came from? Or can anyone tell me whether it does/doesn't work with FT?
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FreeTime questions on: 2008 February 29, 13:17:41
BFF are made far too easily, the memory spam and new interactions are ridulously annoying. In real life I have one person who is my best friend who I share all my secrets with and forgive straight away if she annoys me. I don't see why sims should have more than 2, maybe 3. Most annoying is the stupid hug interaction that wipes out the sims queue and current activity. It only happens if the sim is outside when the BFF drops by but still, grrrr.
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So anyone else not so happy about the new lifetime aspiration thing in FT? on: 2008 February 27, 19:51:54
My sims just never seem to fulfil their lifetime wants anyway since I don't pay much attention to them so I've not really experienced them wandering around as mindless drones. The other day however I had a sim phone a college student (called Helen) and got the message "Helen has just fulfilled her LTW etc." I assume her LTW was to do with best friends as the person ringing her had just got the 'made best friends with Helen' memory. If I decide this has made her too boring she will become a candidate for an untimely and tragic death.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wardrobe Wrangler Released! on: 2008 February 26, 23:43:12
I think it is because you are setting the white hair to custom, although if you are familying them I don't see why it would do that, especially if you set the elder hair within the custom package to 'grey'. Have you deleted the elder packages from the other colours of the hair?

I've also found that some of my hairs from Rose won't show up in the Wardrobe Wrangler, but I guess I should post about that on the forum rather than here Tongue
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wardrobe Wrangler Released! on: 2008 February 25, 21:57:30
Thanks, I made a start on deleting the extra grey hairs and put all the colours into families. After I'd done a few I decided to check bodyshop and found that for some reason it is displaying almost all the grey hair as the Maxis straight hair in the thumbnails. When I click on the thumbnail the correct custom hairstyle shows up on the sims but it's still pretty annoying. Does this usually happen?
