I have no clue, that's why I asked.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: UseRabbitHoleEntrySystem on: 2009 August 16, 18:00:39
Oh, I am a bit stupid when overtired... I know it says "token" and I read "token", but my brain was trying to comprehend "Tolkien" and not really being familiar with network protocols "Tokien Ring-style" sounded a bit like it could be one of the MATY memes that I am not awesome enough to understand.
3  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: UseRabbitHoleEntrySystem on: 2009 August 16, 03:50:52
Token Ring-style works like a queue with numbers as you can find in waiting rooms IRL: all waiting Sims get assigned a waiting list number, and try to enter when their turns comes up. This avoids the collisions and with it the large timeouts of the default system.

Dare I ask why this is referred to as "Token Ring-style"?
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Misplaced Graves on: 2009 July 31, 05:48:36
Well I would understand if some of them disappeared entirely, if they weren't at all connected, but the paticular sim I want to find now used to live in their house, is connected on the family tree and shares the last name. using a copy of the game I went into the lot she lived on and checked her son's inventory, household inventory, the entire lot, had the son check the mausoleum and then systematically checked every lot she frequented (to my knowledge) and still no luck.

My next plan is to go to a back up, clone her, age her, stick her in the bin with the same name plop her into the hood and befriend and kill her off just to get  her into the cemetary... but that seems like a lot of work.

Wouldn't do that if I were you. You'd still have a lost sim floating somewhere in the hood. As tedious as it is, I'd try scanning the entire hood. Though the only way we could really solve this problem is by hacking the game.

Are you suggesting that the theoretical existence of two of the "same" sims would somehow break something, or just that she (the original) might be taking up extra resources as one more ghost I am not worried about freely roaming wherever she may be? because I am sure that if she exists somewhere, then so do at least a sozen or more (so far) neighbors that it keeps calling and telling me they died... I didn't even get that for her. Though it would have saved me a lot of hassle. I got that message after the father moved out so I had one call him the next day to visit, he came, chatted, died and I didn't have to wonder where his tombstone was.

6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: File that decides Maxis "townies"' names on: 2009 July 29, 03:56:13
It's a start, but how many more atrocities are there?
7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Misplaced Graves on: 2009 July 29, 03:54:46
I had thought she was at library (seems to be where they all run off to every time Supreme Commander takes over) so I had searched there, but I did get a screen shot of her ghost and Grimmy before it auto-zoomed me back to my lot for whatever reason. I double checked and sure enough I was wrong she was at the gym and her urn was right there waiting still. Now if I could find the final resting place of one last sim I would be happy. Do not in play sims that aren't close to your playables leave urns/tombstones, or is it a lost cause?
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Misplaced Graves on: 2009 July 26, 21:50:49
I can't seem to find the gravestone for one of my sims who died off-lot while playable.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: File that decides Maxis "townies"' names on: 2009 July 25, 07:07:06
FFS EA, how fucking hard is it to go to babynames.com and copy/paste?

Unfortunately a search for baby names pops up babynamesworld.com first which does indeed list Amanda as a name for both genders.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Showering is Inappropriate Behavior! on: 2009 July 17, 00:09:43
They don't even care if I harvest from thier garden (not sure if they ever care, even if you're not an overnight guest?)  Anyway, I'm not sure what the issue is with your sims and showering.

I am not sure where the line is on that, I have had one sim wander through gardens of people he knows, but wasn't invited in and harvest and they have been fine with it. On the other hand when my other sim walked into yard of the guy with the fenced in garden and just help herself while he was right there, the inappropriate thought... he tried kicking her out, but as she was already outside and/or only had one action queued (harvest) she just ignored him.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 06, 06:12:26
Fireplaces which can be stacked atop each other, sharing one chimney. It's idiotic if I want fireplaces on 2 floors I have to partition off so much space.
At least one of them does stack.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: No money for you! Higher bills in three flavours! on: 2009 June 27, 19:56:23
This is to say, what single day, if any, would you prefer gigantobills to be delivered on?

Friday, or whatever day would make them need to be paid by Friday.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Children witches/warlocks on: 2008 October 19, 16:40:14
Seeing a child sim casting inflammo on his mom and then bringing her back as a zombie and wiping all her memories might look a little bit more disturbing than having a teen sim do the same.

I think that would be disturbing no matter who did it.
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: MQ Teleport and MQ Serve Count updated for AL on: 2008 September 21, 03:13:33
I thought servecount changed the number of servings... not messed with the actual serving action.

anyway thank you for fixing because either way I want it and was disappointed to find it wasn't working for AL.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: September on: 2008 September 03, 00:58:16
Thanks. I kind of figured that, but just wanted to double check.

Next question: I've tried searching for the meaning of "Awesomespec" but I'm a bit lost. I think I get the basic idea (The One Desk on the first floor, kitchen/upstairs lockable behind doors, two separate crib areas for twin spawn...). Is there any other important point I'm missing? Or maybe a post I can be pointed to for clarification?

try this http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7263.0.html I don't know if there is newer but it's the most info I can find (I may not be looking deep enough, I tend to do that... it's hidden in the war room.
16  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 12, 15:28:48
The only pack I don't have at this point is Ikea.
17  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 11, 06:37:18
I believe that is true, that objects you don't have just disappear. I've not heard of anything bad happening.

Thanks, neither have I, but that doesn't always mean much when it comes to Sims.
18  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: August on: 2008 August 11, 05:36:49
Minena I was wondering what you used from Ikea Stuff,

if you don't have an EP/SP things just disappear right? or is there more bad to it than that?
19  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Fail: July on: 2008 July 08, 15:13:53
Nice re-dos... I wanted to try, but spent about 3 hours fighting with it and it still was junk.
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! July: AUGH, get that stuff off my face! on: 2008 July 06, 18:36:59
actually I believe the face is messed up as people don't always know how to make the body part of the skin line up/match the face, it's a separate image. As far as I can see the only thing "on" her face is the awful maxis-like lipstick.
21  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Eaxis House of Fail Makeover Challenge on: 2008 June 26, 18:55:10
I hadn't previously had problems either, just yesterday for whatever reason.

got it now... I have a whole street full of 190s now... only renamed to random ascending odd numbers.
22  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Eaxis House of Fail Makeover Challenge on: 2008 June 26, 05:26:06
I don't know what the issue is exactly, but I have trouble with both of the last two... firefox and filecrunch don't want to play nice apparently... though I am not claiming that as fact... I just keep getting the

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at f4.filecrunch.com."

message.
23  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 24, 04:40:02
Sorry, I only checked the first page of this forum, contests only went back as far as Sept(?) of last year... The pants one must be further back.

*Edited*

nope, just me being a dumbass... I was only scanning the first few words of the threads, and the older ones start with the month instead of "More Awful Than You"
24  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful than You! June: Stuff that you Do. Not. Want. on: 2008 June 23, 22:05:39
There is a lot wrong with that... but almost as bad is the comments on TSR about how great it is...

I don't know if I like this game anymore... I was enjoying everyones else's horrid finds... but when I thought I'd try to see what I could find... following the part that it's worse if they expect money in return, I went in search of a paysite... picked a name at random from the booty... went and looked at there clothes... now I want to hurl...
http://www.glamoursim.com/thesims2/frameset.html

there is not a single outfit, that I saw (I refused to torture my eyes further by looking at them *all*) that I would imagine putting on a Sim of my worst enemy to burn them up in...
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone take the lastest survey on the Sims 2 web page? on: 2008 June 21, 00:06:02
Yeah, I was too... I had Sims 1 before they released the first EP... In any case I don't argue that it was better, I just wish people would stop using those few things as their excuse as to why they don't buy SPs. Sure there are good reasons, but Maxis giving us a few things free is not on the same page as people whining that the SPs, which any/all have more in them than was ever released "extra" for the first game, cost money.
