Or add a scanner similar to the one in BUY so it can find the clones of the Maxis objects?

Had debug on; no error logs, no error dialog either.

As I said in my original post about the problem, the fiancee was able to grow up on the home lot with only 1 side effect: 2 diplomas!  Apparently, whatever the hack checks to see if someone can grow up from YA to adult is updated last, so that information was not updated.

Now I'm scared to install it, with 2 people breaking their cds so close in time...

Personally, I don't care if the option shows up during dates or not; I just want it to work correctly if it is there!  If you do disallow it, only the "askee" being on a date should prevent the option from showing up.

I'd have to do some pretty contrived stuff to engineer a "natural" age transition on a date, but I'll see if I can manage that.

Meanwhile, here's poor Byron's file...  It kind of looks like his part of the transition was complete; it's just the part that involves the neighborhood files that didn't "take."

Dang, could this be related to the other problems with cross-sub-hood moves?   Although the Townie family is the same as the Dormie family, he might still be marked somehow as living in a dorm still...

Maybe it's the translucency?

Having a Propose->Engagement rejected is a sure date buster too!
57  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 April 24, 19:21:31
I'm a little confused by the multiple possibilities...

If I want all the skins Dewshine has put in the "pixie" range, I need to use the NPC skins from Dewshine's page?
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can the horrible werewolf walk be fixed? on: 2007 April 24, 13:47:29
It's the "borfin dorfin" I'd like to get rid of.  Zombies should stick to "Braaaains!"  Even when talking to plants.

I would think that would make the plants turn into Cow Plants.

Try Delphi's Download Organizer.  http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=227925

It still incorrectly flags a few things (older skin tones and hair recolors, mostly) as orphans, but it's great for finding meshes with missing textures and vice versa.

Theo's color binning tool will remove unwanted toddler/child hair.
61  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2007 April 22, 15:20:34
That option only comes up if someone on your lot is sick.
62  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 April 22, 02:44:34
I just hope they don't post pictures of the babies here!
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Program to help remove clothing on: 2007 April 21, 23:19:39
BodyShop?

You can use Delphy's Download Organizer from MTS2 (just go to http://www.modthesims2.com and search for DDO) to tell if you've got stray meshes or textures.

jfade is working on a special purpose proggie that will show you the thumbnails used in the game and let you delete stuff, but he's not done yet.
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there an easy way to empty a family's dresser? on: 2007 April 21, 16:47:14
The simplest way is to move out and move back in.  However, you're gonna lose gobs of money since everything is depreciated to the max.

Someone call the social worker and save that poor kid. Won't someone think of the children?

No, the social worker is too busy taking away children who got overheated jumping on their beds.  Can't worry about the Sims who simply sell their children by the hour on street corners.

Yeah, if you overfeed, he hibernates for a while and doesn't fix any hacks.  You need to feed him just enough to sustain life!

But eating brains should give them extra time...
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help, my game asploded! on: 2007 April 20, 20:29:12
Why should sara have to pay for it at all? She already did.

It's like $5 to pay for the plastic CD, some sloping forehead intern to put the CD in an envelope and type your address on a mailing label, and postage.  Heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new copy (unless she can persuade the tech to fork over for that too (when pigs fly)) and safer than using a cracked copy.

I'm weary about replacing the .exe with some cracked one. *shrugs*

Me too.  I'd back up my exe, try the crack, and get the new CD from Maxis ASAP.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help, my game asploded! on: 2007 April 20, 20:08:23
If you registered your software, Maxis will send you a new CD for cheap.
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Glitch Uni/Seasons ? on: 2007 April 20, 04:40:37
I used to do that.  Now once I know they've got A+'s, I let them live a little...
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buggeration and double buggeration, Serves me right too. on: 2007 April 19, 19:56:44
Darn.  When I saw the subject line, I was expecting something like the "plague of twins" thread.  I'm so disappointed.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Glitch Uni/Seasons ? on: 2007 April 19, 19:53:33
I just use College->Rampage at the beginning of the semester.  When it goes away, I know the "bar" is really full and they can party until finals.

Trying this now...
74  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 April 19, 13:44:58
Their child could end up any shade from the human parent's skin tone up to the darkest human norm or the lightest faerie tone up to the pixie parent's skin. (If I remember how dewshine numbered his skins...)

If I wanted my faeries (or demons) to interbreed with humans, I'd probably use the non-genetic version of the faerie skins so the children will have one parent or the other's skin.
75  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Syberspunke Archives / Re: Testers Wanted: Grow Up Townies *EXPERIMENTAL BETA* (Updated 2/16/2007) on: 2007 April 19, 03:43:54
The Visitor Controller has nothing to do with this hack.  Use the Hack Conflict Detector from Paladin's Place (http://www.simwardrobe.com) to see if something else is conflicting with it.  If the "No Gypsy et al" hack is different from the Visitor Controller, that's your conflict right there.

Ste, I have your info...

1) YA Michelle asking Dormies to grow up:
Randolph (179), in the dorm, asked to Grow Up->Summa Cum Laude.  Aspiration dialog appeared, clicked no, successful transition.
Joey (209), date on university community lot, asked to Grow Up->Summa Cum Laude.   Aspiration dialog appeared, clicked no, date automatically ended, successful transition.
Earl (197), date on normal community lot, asked to Grow Up->Summa Cum Laude.   Aspiration dialog appeared, clicked no, date automatically ended, successful transition.

2) Adult Dudley Dropout asking Dormies to grow up:
Marcia (178), at Dudley's house, asked to Grow Up->Summa Cum Laude.  Aspiration dialog appeared, clicked no, successful transition.

At that point, poor Marshall's ghost managed to scare both Dudley and Donna to death...

3) Adult Sydney Scrapingby asking Downies to grow up:
Byron (181), date on normal commnity lot, asked to Grow Up->Summa Cum Laude.  Aspiration dialog appeared, clicked no, date continued, no transition.  Looking at Byron in SimPE, he seems to be at some intermediate state.  His age is adult in the SDSC, he has 8 wants, his character file has 3 Property Sets for Teen, YA, and Adult, but he still uses his YA portrait (in SimPE) and appearance (in the game).

What files or screenshots would you like to see?
