TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Weird maternity outfit

I've noticed this as well. Pregnant Sims tend to show up one stage ahead off-lot. I also notice this on the family thumbnail from the 'hood view -- a Sim who just got pregnant is already shown with a bump there.
I've never noticed the Sims looking more preggo than they are, but I have noticed them wearing different maternity wear in the family thumbnail than they wear in the game.

Venusy: cancel and get the game somewhere else, then maybe the guide will ship. They are obviously having supply issues. Never order an in-stock item and an out-of-stock item from Amazon at the same time. You will get messes like this. I suspect it's actually the Prima guide that's causing the problem. I'd check your local EB to see if both are in stock, then cancel the whole darn thing! EB gives you a buck or two off on the guide if you buy it at the same time as the game.

I installed the 2006 Stuff Pack over top of the 2005 Holiday Edition plus all EPs up to Pets with no problems.
The Holiday Packs aren't like the FFS and GL packs... they just give you more objects and skins, no monkeying with the executable.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "pulled out their character files." Do you mean you copied the UserXXXX.package files to another location on your hard drive? If so, I'm not sure.
In the future, if you intend to uninstall and reinstall, go to My Documents/EA Games. Rename the folder The Sims 2 to anything else, The Sims 2 protected from the uninstaller. Once your game has at least as many of the expansion packs as it had before the uninstall, you can simply delete the new The Sims 2 folder and replace yours.

Good luck with that challenge. I've never seen that one, but I know I'd find it tough simply because I'm always sending my sims to watch TV to get their fun up. I don't know what I'd do with a Medieval house! Send them to watch the crystal ball!

SimPE insisted on reading all my sims and neighborhoods as unknowns. Very frustrating and is why I never did learn to use the thing. It didn't mean there was anything wrong with my game though - the game is fine. SimPE is borked somehow... probably because it was installed on the main user account and my sims are on a differenter one.
I think if you open the 'hood through the Neighborhood Browser, the Sims come up correctly. If you open the Neighborhood file directly, you get a large assortment of Unknowns.

Thanks, Sagana. That is exactly why I plan to create my own uni within the hood, rather than using a Uni hood.
How in the world could you do that? There wouldn't be any classes or homework, or term papers or anything. Does just putting a dorm into a regular hood make it work? You'd need a ton of hacks, which will probably all be broken when the next edition of Lies and Propaganda comes out. BTW, your Sims get credit toward their semester grade by interacting socially with a professor. Even College->Rampage uses this on occasion!
