51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CONFESS! How many of you pay for downloads? on: 2006 May 24, 23:15:27
Sigh.  Y'all are bad, bad people that make me want to throw money away to buy clothes and objects for electronic people that don't really exist!!  My husband already wants to delete them all and get his wife back.

So, if you were like, going to pick the better deal (best quality, # of downloads, frequency of updates) would you choose Around the Sims 2 or Sim Chic?
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2006 May 23, 02:19:05
I started a neighborhood from scratch after having my two previous neighborhoods become BOFVFS.  I used the delete all characters cheat and installed all of JMP's no regen hacks.  At the time I only had UNI, this was before NL was released.  I created 30 sims in CAS and only 1/ of these became playable sims.  The rest became townies.  I followed a strict population growth limit.  When NL and later OFB were added, they became the only outsiders in my hood.  Some of them married my CAS sims and have produced some beautiful children, giving the gene pool a greater variety.

Fast forward to today.  It has been almost a year now.  I only have 341 files in this neighborhood.  I have recently celebrated the birth of my 4th generation.  In fact, to keep the population down, I pared it back by killing off many sims with disease.  Yes, my sims suffered the plague.  Most great civilizations do.   Tongue  I don't delete any of my playable sims's tombstones after they die, though I might start the practice as the neighborhood continues to age.

Anyway, I couldn't be happier with my neighborhood and it's population.  Smiley  Thanks JMP.

I feel the exact same way.  Every one of my Sims' homes have something from WDS, or else they are wearing their hair and/or eyes.  I just feel like, after paying for them, there is no way I could delete them.  And WDS stuff is such high quality that I don't have a problem paying for it.  Too bad I can't say that for most of the other pay sites.
54  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Recolors of Sanmoo's Femininity (BINNED!) on: 2006 May 20, 17:54:04
I love this!!  I felt the exact same way about the "fringy" hair that y'all did.  Thank you very much, Jelenedra.  Smiley
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I need some help with this slow-ass site. on: 2006 May 14, 22:38:08
Darn it, now that I download it, I see it looks much better in pictures than it does on the Sim.

Oh well.  Thanks Skandelouslala.  Grin

Don'tcha hate it when that happens?  I downloaded that "Sanmoo--Femininity" with the tendrills that hang down from MTS2 that looked gorgeous on the pictures, but very strange in game.  Sad
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim Murder on: 2006 May 14, 03:43:12
No, I'm glad they took murder out, if it would be as bad as the fighting is in my game.  Sad  My Sims are sluts and therefore we can't have a child's birthday party without some poking, shoving, and someone getting their butt kicked.  If they had left autonomous murder it, the average birthday party would be something like this: "Happy birthday dear Billy. . . omigawd!  Grandpa killed Grandma because she flirted with the mailman forever ago! C'mon, let's go kick a trashcan and give him roaches!"
57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Yet another hair thread - OFB Hidden Hair Properly Binned & Animated on: 2006 May 14, 03:15:11
Thank you for posting this, Blue.  Smiley  I had downloaded another version of this that had no animations at all, so It just didn't move.  The weird animations from the SC version had bothered me as well, so I preferred the "plastic" one to the SC one.  I really like Windkeeper's version, and can't wait to try it out in game.

59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATED 20.4.06* on: 2006 April 23, 16:33:57
My sim-self and sim hubby kept having ugly little boys with jowls like a bulldog and teeth that stuck out through their gums!!!  They were hideous!!!  I can't find any pictures of the, wish now I had taken some.  LOL  I just sent them to the plastic surgery machine ASAP!

But, then again, all 4 boys are now adults and breeding.   LOL

Are their offspring just as ugly as they were?

So far we have three little girls and one boy, and all of them look normal.  So far, so good.  Smiley

Really?  Now, that would be an option I would use.  Smiley  Would anyone be so kind as to post instructions and/or a link to a tutorial when they erase memories?  Would you use this to get rid of townies?

Great!  Smiley  Thank you, Maxon.  Smiley
64  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Squiggly Lines of Doom!! on: 2006 April 17, 00:07:39
I was checking my Sims' memories with SimsPE and found over half of them were invisible gossip memories from other sims!  I have JMP's Director's Cut for OFB installed, and I thought there was a hack in there that took care of this?

For example:  I'm looking at Noah's memories.  Someone has gossiped to Noah about Leia's recent infielity on her husband John.  So, Noah has 4 memories about the event!  "Leia cheated on John." "John caught Leia cheating".  "Leia lost John as a best friend." "John lost Leia as a best friend."  He even has one listed as a "Toddler Skill Token:  Gossip about Jasmine Olshlinksi"!

So, would these memories be causing squiggly lines?  And, will removing them damage my neighborhood?  Because, so far, I haven't experienced any problems with this hood, and it's 8 months old, my longest surviving hood ever.  Smiley
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Squinge found something interesting... on: 2006 April 06, 02:25:31
Hey, I'm one of those "Christian Soccer Moms", well, okay, a t-ball mom, not soccer  Roll Eyes, but I breastfed three babies in public.

I belive it's a cultural thing.  I'm sure that many of our friends "across the pond" are wondering why the hell this is such a fiery debate.  But, big business has done a lot to turn us from mammals nursing our babies to sluts selling everything from perfume to pop music.  Amish women can nurse their babies in their churches, but I can't nurse my baby in a shopping mall unless I go to the bathroom.  Go figure.

I'm in the Deep South--Bible Belt--Conservative Red State-Redneck and "Dubbya" lovin' Land.  I'm in my mid-30's.  I was "raised right", which means raised to be modest.  I spent a fortune on nursing bras and blouses that had pannels that allowed me to not flash any nipple just in case.  And, I still covered up with a blanket if I was in public, even went to my car on more than one occasion to nurse a baby.  I hated it, but I just didn't feel comfortable doing it because, again, our culture sees me nursing as something "dirty" and "sexual".  Its wrong, and it's not my fault, and it's definately not my baby's fault, but it's a cultural fact of life where I live, and I bend because I must live in the culture.

With my last baby I worked and I pumped at work.  I had an office and plenty of privacy, but "Just In Case" I made a little sign that had a cow on it and said, "Kristal is in but busy, please come back later."  A female co-worker was offended and made me take it off.  The males, well, they had no idea what I was doing!  LOL

Anyway, I'm with the majority I think when I say I want this mod in my game very much, but am willing to wait until there is a More Awesome one from Pescado.  Smiley  As much realism as possible, please.  Smiley

Oh. . My. . . Gawd!!! Shocked

Ashleigh, pass the damn tissues!!   Cry Cry Cry
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Major Maxis Slipup on: 2006 March 18, 13:53:00
Okay, here's my theory.  Maxis meant to include the Family Fun items in OFB.  But, they realized that this would make it more than one disk, and they were trying to keep production costs down.  Sooooo, they took off the nautical themed stuff and some other extra tid-bits, gave it a name, and packaged it to try to squeeze out another $20 from us.  I'm still choking.  $20!!!!  And it's not even pretty stuff!!!

70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Logitech mouse and The Sims 2 and this big HUGE hammer! on: 2006 February 04, 22:53:00
I have a track-ball by logitech and love it.  If it wasn't for my track ball, I think I'd have carpal-tunnel by now.  My middle "scroll" button works fine and I've never had an issue.  I would highly reccomend them.

Which circle of hell is housework in?

it would have to be one of the lowest depths of Hell for me!!!  I'd better be good and make it to Heaven so I don't have to come back and wash dishes!!! Undecided

73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is one to know what these ARE? on: 2006 February 04, 22:46:39
For the Clean installer, go to www.modthesims2.com.  Look on the left hand column down the page to see other sites that are hosted by MTS2.  There will be a link there for the clean installer.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: But it seemed like such a good idea at the time! on: 2006 February 04, 22:43:52
Hello, my name is Kristal, and I have a downloading problem.  I have been clean for about 3 days now.  I have not downloaded anything in three days.  But, I am finding it hard to resist.  And, I am also finding it hard to clean the downloads out.  I keep looking at stuff and thinking, "I know I'll use that." or "But that's so cute!" or "Don't I have a sim wearing that right now?" and so I can't delete it.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How is one to know what these ARE? on: 2006 February 04, 22:32:48
I used the Clean installer when I did mine.
