1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: My game won't start? on: 2009 December 03, 00:43:28
Raising the dead to say that I had the same problem for Sims 2 and Sims 3. I fixed it by rolling back my display drivers to the previous version.

I have written a small program to replace the roads in one neighborhood with the roads from a second neighborhood.

Well, that's just brilliant and right on time. I'm off to test it out.

ETA: Works perfectly. I just had to move a few stop signs around.
3  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: TUTORIAL: Neighborhood Terrain Surgery on: 2008 March 22, 20:30:29
Question: Is there any way to alter just the roads, while leaving the neighborhood decorations intact?
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage NPCs on: 2007 October 19, 18:16:39
I was wondering how many NPCs objects like the check-in desk, snack bar and massage table will create. Will new chefs, massage therapists and maids be spawned or will the game use existing chefs, maids and beauty shop NPCs? My game is already kind of bloated, so I'm on the fence when it comes to buying Bon Voyage.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bon Voyage NPCs on: 2007 October 19, 17:32:13
How many new NPCs will Bon Voyage dump in my neighborhood if I don't send sims on vacation but place BV objects in main neighborhood lots? The BV objects look great, but I don't want a ton of additional NPCs running around.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Altering Body Meshes? on: 2007 August 25, 17:46:11
I've done a fairly decent job altering different parts of the game in order to get things the way I'd like them to look. Still, I've always been wary when it comes to editing body meshes. I love Marvine's Athletic Guy series, but it seems as if the project has been abandoned. What I'd like to do is to recreate these three outfits...

...for the Athletic (http://www.insimenator.net/forumdisplay.php?f=160) body type.

Where can I find a good tutorial? Would this be doable for someone who is a beginner? Or would I be biting off way more than I could chew?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Excessive Pranking In Spring Season? on: 2007 March 23, 15:12:25
My sims currently have no friends due to the excessive pranking that goes on during visits to community lots. Even sims with only three playful points immediately decide to prank someone once showing up on a community lot. This has resulted in many many sims getting beat the hell down and pretty much each sim in the game has at least 3 or 4 enemies.

I never had this pranking problem with any of the other expansion packs. Seasons has managed to turn the sims into obnoxious jerks. Does anyone else have this problem? This was funny at first, but now every date or outing ends with some fool in the corner crying because he got slapped in the face.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Atomic Bar Stools and Counters on: 2006 December 10, 05:06:19
Well, after testing this out, I've discovered that sims can't use an atomic stool if there is another stool to the right and to the left of it. How silly is that?

Neat looking little restaurant.

You can get one that looks just like it. I took the Factory Living Grocery Store at MTS2 and just redecorated it.

It looks like you've failed to install noroutefail, for one thing.

God, that's wonderful. I had no idea that hack existed. Well, I'm off to put that in right now.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Atomic Bar Stools and Counters on: 2006 December 10, 02:43:04
Thanks! I deleted a door that seemed to be blocking access to one of the atomic stools in the diner. I'm still having a problem with the rest of them though.

Can anyone figure out what I've done wrong here?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Atomic Bar Stools and Counters on: 2006 December 10, 01:11:46
Is anyone else having a problem with sims not being able to sit at atomic barstools placed next to atomic counters?

This set up worked fine when I was using a different barstool/counter combo.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Stop stealing my juice! on: 2006 December 10, 01:05:19
Happens in my game all the time. I never found it annoying until I tried playing a family without using money cheats.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Crazy University Idea on: 2006 November 28, 23:27:16
I've seen hacks on MTS2 that allow adult sims to go to college and I've heard that you can use the changeLotZoning cheat on a house in the main neighborhood to allow an adult sim to "rent" a house instead of buying one. I have to wonder, would it be possible to have young adult sims live in the main neighborhood and attend university? I've just started yet another new neighborhood, and it'd be great if I could have university students live in town. I figured I'd take the following steps:

Build a house in the main neighborhood.
Move a couple of adult sims into the house.
Use the ChangeLotZoning cheat to make it a dorm.
Change the adult sims to young adults with Insimenator.

ETA: Well, I just tried my idea with a test neighborhood. Doesn't work. All I ended up with was permanent freshmen who never went to class and never aged. However, they were able to get jobs, fall in love, etc. I don't know if they can have dogs and cats as pets or give birth. I'll test that out later. They did have college related wants (do homework) and actions (talk about major) though.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Pets and Community Lots? on: 2006 November 18, 19:17:23
Is there a special object of some sort that you have to place on a lot in order to get pets to appear? Whenever I have a sim with a pet visit the dog park, his dog is the only pet there. However, there are other sims in the neighborhood with dogs. Are the only pets allowed on a community lot the ones owned by the playable sim? If so, that's ridiculous! I suppose I could just use the Insimenator to force other pets in the neighborhood to show up, but I can't believe EA would overlook something so simple. I mean, the whole point of taking your dog to a dog park is so he can play with other dogs, right?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Dogs, maids, tubs and beds. on: 2006 November 18, 19:13:03
Now that I think about it, I could have sworn that I saw pet grooming stations in the previews for Sims 2: Pets. What happened to those? That would pretty much solve the whole tub problem too.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Dogs, maids, tubs and beds. on: 2006 November 17, 17:24:42
It seems as though the pets and NPCs in my game can't use some of my old custom objects. For the most part, this isn't a problem. I don't want animals climbing all over the furniture anyway. Still, I would like for my Sim to be able to wash his dog without having to buy a new tub each time he does it. How can I update a tub for The Sims 2: Pets?

Also, this isn't a big deal to me, but maids won't make custom beds.

And finally, is it normal for a pet to forget all its training once it steps on a community lot? One of my sims has a dog that's a perfect angel at home, but loses its damn mind everywhere else. Eating flowers, running around crazily, snapping at strangers...the works! And yet the dog has full green bars for all of the appropriate learned behaviors. I don't get it.

ETA: I hate the wolves so very much. All they do is upset every dog in the neighborhood. Sadly, the no strays patch doesn't work on them either. I really wish I could get them from showing up. My sims live in a major city! Hell, I've never seen a wolf just hanging out in Brooklyn, so why are they wandering around brownstones in my game? Arrrgh!

Those are really nice looking jeans Digital Femme.
Thanks. They're actually the NL jeans for male sims than I altered to fit female sims. I don't like any of the Maxis jeans for females and all of the good jeans made by other players are for very skinny meshes. The waists are so narrow!

Argh! I can't see your site at all. IE 7 is a pain in the ass. Ah well, I need to download Firefox anyway.

Digital Femme, are you looking for any small terrain or particularly for one that looks like that?
Because I have SC4 and I would not mind makeing it for you if it's that you want one to look like that exactly.
OMG! You are my favorite person of the day. If you could do that, that would be wonderful. I just want something with very few roads and one route leading out of town/off screen. I need something extra tiny since a Uni with no more than ten buildings looks weird in a big neighborhood. And most of the small terrains people make are islands and I'm always wondering how the heck sims get to and fro. Hmmm. Maybe when I'm finally done with Metro Valley, my next neighborhood can have a castaway theme. Those teeny tiny islands on MTS2 are pretty nifty.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Small Neighborhood Terrain? on: 2006 November 05, 01:23:47
I thought featured artists never had their items in the free section. I'd love to be wrong about that though.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Small Neighborhood Terrain? on: 2006 November 05, 00:47:23
Can anyone point me in the direction of a free neighborhood that looks like this?

http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/hoods/326046/

Seaville is from a featured artist at The Sims Resource, and there's no way I'm going to pay almost ten bucks to download one file. Well, maybe two, this climbing course (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/297798/) is pretty neat looking too.

Anyway, since I hate asking for something without giving something in return, here's a pair of jeans I made.

You can download them here (http://download.yousendit.com/D8F1200703DDAEB4) if you like them.

I thought she meant different neighbourhoods, as in N001 and N002, not sub-hoods of the same neighbourhood.

That's what I meant. Actually, I'm wondering if Shaklin's No Strays Patch might also solve my problem and prevent all strays, wolves and the LotP from showing up on residential and community lots in one shot. I guess I would have to exit out of the game and remove the patch when I wanted to switch neighborhoods, but that's not too big of a deal to me.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Banning Werewolves? on: 2006 October 25, 14:10:53
Thank you so much! Maxis used to be pretty good about allowing players to keep the "wacky" characters out of the game if players wanted to keep things "normal". I guess they decided not to bother this time around.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Banning Werewolves? on: 2006 October 23, 19:15:35
I have two neighborhoods. One is for "norms" and another is for monsters, mutants and aliens. I don't want any monsters or aliens in my normal neighborhood. I have Sims 2: Pets, but I'm not in a rush to install it unless I can keep werewolves and possessed wolves from showing up in my normal neighborhood. Will removing the Leader of the Pack simply cause another one to spawn (like with Grand Vampires)? Can he/she even be removed from a neighborhood in the first place?
