I have the exact same card.  It runs well enough without having to sacrifice too much.  I knocked the view distance options down a couple of notches and that was all I needed.  That being said you probably got it for the same reason I did.  I was looking for a video card on the cheap and found it on Newegg for $60.  So, no, it's not the best card.  And yes, you will want to save up for a better one.


I predict they will try to phase out the HDDs we have now in favor of solid state drives in a couple of years.  Then we can all sit around and laugh about how HDD's used to be clunky devices that had moving parts while we watch our computers boot up in five seconds.

Does "Yew need moar RAMZ" apply when you already have seven gigs of it?  How much more do I need?

If you enjoy games that crash a lot for no apparent reason then TS3 is for you.  Playing this game is like holding a bottle of nitroglycerine while in the middle of a large crowd.  Eventually someone is going to bump into you.  And no one will be happy with the results.

Also, TS2 runs about a million times better and faster.

Buying your computer from Wal-Mart is never something to brag about.

I would try a /fixall first.

Shutting your computer on and off adds more wear and tear to it than leaving it on.  The only time mine turns off is when an update requires a reboot, I'm going to be gone for more than a day, or when the weather is bad.  As for Macs and Apple in general, I would totes have one if I could afford it.  I like using something different every now and then.  This is why one of my computers is running Ubuntu.

I'm sort of in the same boat now.  My old machine blew up and I'm using a new one I bought some time ago but never got around to setting up till now.  It's got seven gigs of ram (Vista 64bit) and a quad core processor so I don't think I'll have any bottleneck issues there.  But it has ye olde PCI-E slots.  I know the new PCI-E 2.0 cards are backwards compatible.  But is it worth dropping the money for one if I don't have PCI-E 2.0 slots?  The regular old PCI-E cards are hella cheap on NewEgg.

My sim used to just run to the gym in Bridgeport because it was right across the street from his apartment.  Now he insists on using the subway terminal on the apartment lot to get to the subway terminal across the street on the other side of the gym.  This is very annoying.

ETA:  On the other hand, my toilet hasn't broken 20 times in one week.  So I guess this is some improvement.

This appears to be a problem with everyone.  It's frighteningly common for me to switch to another household and find everyone passed out in a puddle of their own pee and starving.  There's a couple in my current Bridgeport stuck in an eternal "Tour City Hall" with "Expire" in their queue.

I was fully prepared to go on a blood sucking rampage until I found out you have to get friendly with the victim and then ask them if you can bite them.  A bear doesn't ask you if it can eat you before it eats you.

I find toggling black lights on for the entire lot and then toggling them off fixes this too.
