26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Study Parenting on: 2008 June 08, 17:25:36
The few times I've had Sims check on their babies, the thought bubble showed comfort as the lowest motive. Really helpful information, seeing as how AFAIK infants shouldn't even have a comfort motive at all.
27  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 June 06, 19:50:12
I don't believe that will work because some of the character data for them is stored in the V001_Neighborhood file. You could clone the Travellers and recreate them in CAS but you'd have to replace their memories and whatnot if that matters to you. I made clones of them for my merged neighborhood, if I still have them I will attach them.

Berney updated the tutorial for BV here, but the process is essentially the same even in FT.

Guidelines for submitting error logs can be found here in the FAQ, if you haven't seen them already.

Outdated hack or a conflict? You need to give more information regarding your game. What mods are you running and are they all updated? What EPs/SPs do you have? You may also want to post your error log so the smert people can look at it.
31  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help: Unknown Wants (BV) on: 2008 May 26, 19:34:09
You should do a binary search to track down the problem hack (if there is one).
32  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help: Unknown Wants (BV) on: 2008 May 26, 18:41:07
If you take out uni_ltws_sns entirely do the wants return to normal?
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help: Unknown Wants (BV) on: 2008 May 25, 21:04:32
Do you have the Uni careers enabled hack from here? I had a similar issue with FT but it was fixed, maybe it needs moar fixing for BV.
34  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Flickering, transparent Sims - why, and what to do? on: 2008 May 25, 21:01:59
To run the game in windowed mode:

Right-click on the shortcut to the game and select "Properties". Add "-w" without the quotes to the end of the Target line so that it reads "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 FreeTime\TSBin\Sims2EP7.exe" -w, or wherever your game folder is located. Make sure there is a space between the "...exe" and the -w.

Backups are also necessary in case "oops I fucked up and I have to start over" happens.

My Servo only started having this creepy face thing since I patched FT as well. Does it happen to female Servos? I might just feed mine to the cow plant and initialize a fembot if it only affects the males.

I haven't seen those before, cheers for the link jemjie!
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selfmade vacation sims on: 2008 May 17, 04:18:12
For Three Lakes I used Norwegian names with fair skintones and lighter hair colors. My Twikkii Islanders have mainly Hawaiian names with darker skintones and hair colors. I wish there were teen versions of the lumberjack outfits and grass skirts because they don't really fit in with the rest of the Vacationers.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Questions: Stock market, and employee work friend on: 2008 May 14, 17:35:25
My first sim answered the hobby chance card correctly when she chose to share her music collection at work and is now cursed to bring home the same game-generated garden club loser every day for the rest of her life.

TJ has a fix for that here.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Questions: Stock market, and employee work friend on: 2008 May 14, 03:15:28
The stock tip is from the Investing perk for Fortune Sims. The only thing I dislike about it is that it affects business lots as well, so my Sims sometimes end up with -§160,000 or so for daily profits. I have no idea about the Employee bit.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This interruption brought to you by Fight Club on: 2008 May 09, 05:07:04
I've noticed that as well, but the next morning, everyone wakes up and wanders to the Stolen Item Square and sobs, fumes, and generally kicks up a fuss. Have you checked for a bad memory after that point?

The last time it happened the burglar didn't actually steal anything. The alarm went off right inside the doorway and whatever the burglar was after was far enough away that the police arrived before he could reach it. I don't recall my Sim ever becoming furious with the burglar about it.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: This interruption brought to you by Fight Club on: 2008 May 09, 01:24:23
Is it normal, that if the cop wins (and family gets the reward), everyone gets a bad memory.  But, if the burglar wins and gets away, no-one gets a bad memory?   It doesn't make sense but that's how it is in my hoods.

That's how it is in my neighborhood and it makes no sense to me either.
43  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2008 May 07, 19:57:13
Would it be possible to add an option to view a Sim's raw LTA score? I'd like to be able to see it without having to shut down the game and checking in SimPE.
44  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No Bills At Dorms on: 2008 May 07, 18:32:16
I reused a dorm once but after having one of those mysterious "OMG! Scratchy icon thought bubble! Eek!" spots now I always bulldoze the dorm when my Sims leave and replace it with a new copy from the lot bin. I have been using  this dorm without a problem since my founder started Uni, but when the bills stopped coming I downloaded a couple more to see if it was just that one lot.

ETA: Problem solved with the addition of a new CAS dormie, just as Lord Darcy suggested. Thanks again!
45  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No Bills At Dorms on: 2008 May 07, 18:04:28
Fascinating, that never would have occurred to me. Thanks for the tip!
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sticky Aspiration? on: 2008 May 07, 17:54:23
There was the problem with the skins.package if you created any custom clothing on the sewing machine and another problem with the objects.package, not sure what the cause of that one was though. There is a copy of the patch here if you want to try installing it. If it doesn't install you can replace the corrupted file with a clean one off the CD (it should tell you which file is causing the error in installation), but IIRC you'll lose any custom clothing you made.
47  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / No Bills At Dorms on: 2008 May 07, 17:47:23
I'm not exactly sure when this started but my Sims no longer receive bills while they are living in dormitories. The mail carrier arrives as usual, walks to the front of the mailbox, and then immediately walks back to the sidewalk to do her little idle thing before leaving. I thought it might be the mailbox cover so I tried both the original and the awesome versions and still nothing. I cleared everything out of the ordinary on the lot debugger and made sure there was no invalid mail with TJ's college adjuster. I even moved my Sims to a new dorm, thinking it was just something wonky on the old lot but still no bills. The mail gets delivered without issue at the campus Greek houses and back in the regular neighborhood. I have all EPs/SPs and HCDU shows nothing out of the ordinary. No errors occur so there is no log to share.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sticky Aspiration? on: 2008 May 07, 17:33:32
I thought that the FT aspiration fix was supposed to give the correct memories for engagement/marriage but I had two Pleasure Sims get engaged - one got a green memory and the other got a red one. Both their marriage memories were green because they both married rich, so I don't know what they would have been otherwise. I *think* that the pulled FT patch puts everything back to normal because I just had a Knowledge/Popularity Sim receive a green marriage memory.
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default replacement neck issue on: 2008 May 06, 20:38:37
You have to create userStartup cheat file and put it in the Config file, I don't believe one is there otherwise. If you do a search you should be able to find an example of what the file looks like or even one someone has attached to a post. Just be sure the file is saved as a .cheat file and not a .txt file.

Dizzy rewrote Squinge's maternity mod, you can find it here.
