26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Legacy Challenge: TS3 Style on: 2009 June 11, 14:02:45
Funnily enough, TS3 seems to have been engineered especially for the Legacy challenge. Being a fan of the Challenge, I'm looking forward to news on this front. Don't take *too* long, eh?

28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Huge Rock is Huge on: 2009 June 07, 09:55:51
ETA: I made a stupid and made a new thread. Perhaps this can be merged into the existing Horror pics/vids thread, if that's not too much trouble.

At first, I didn't think to pick it up since it looked like a terrain doodad. Then as I was scrolling away, I did a doubletake. It looked suspiciously like a... egads.

So my Sim cheerily went up to it and swiped it to put it into his Hammerspace. This now redefines the term "butthurt noob" for I.

[17:25] <Lorelei> If I find one, I will totally be thinking that in my head
[17:25] <Lorelei> "I found a *Zucabr rock"
[17:26] <Lorelei> a.k.a. Huge-ass Volkswagen-sized chunk of useless mineral
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 15:02:32
Ambrosia simply resets the Days Before Aging timer for the Sim that eats it, and as far as I know does not actually revive any ghost Sim. What are your sources? Where did you hear this thing that sounds a lot like a fallacy?

I can confirm - it does revive a ghost.

Heh, trust the noob (ETA: I mean myself. I'm the noob) who's never cooked Ambrosia to put its foot in its mouth. But yes, it's an opportunity.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: revive sim that already have a tombstone? on: 2009 June 01, 13:53:35
To make a ghost Sim playable would need an Opportunity, which would allow one Sim, the Sim that receives the Opportunity, to bring a tombstone/urn/tombplate (note, ANY form of a dead Sim marker) to the Science lab to make the ghost playable. The Sim that received the Opportunity, and only that Sim, would then be able to make other ghosts playable.

make her eat ambrosia = alive again!
but i tried taking the tomb with me to work as a lvl 10 science job -> nothing happened :/ cant bring her back?? -> cant eat ambrosia = cant come back alive.

Ambrosia simply resets the Days Before Aging timer for the Sim that eats it, and as far as I know does not actually revive any ghost Sim. What are your sources? Where did you hear this thing that sounds a lot like a fallacy?

Note to clarify that these traits are invisible. They do not show up in the traits interface.

Results with individual service Sims are as follows:
  • Babysitter lacks one trait, but doesn't display any unique behaviour as regards to children.
  • Edit: The Sim here was not an NPC. Thanks Kyna and Roflganger. Tongue
  • Burglar lacks three traits and can indeed Sneak Here in navigational options.
  • Repowoman lacks two traits, but has displayed no unique behaviours.
  • Fireman lacks two traits, and does indeed display affinity for fire.
  • Maid lacks one trait, and does indeed keep things clean and tidy when using items, which is a subtle and boring "perk".
  • Policeman lacks one trait, and has the Brave trait, and autonomously tackled a (different from the other, now playable one) burglar
  • Repair Technician lacks two traits, and has full handiness skill, but otherwise shows no new moodlets or actions related to tinkering, repairing or upgrading items.
  • Pizza Deliverywoman lacks three traits, and shows no new pizza coolness.
  • Grim Reaper poofs in and poofs out, and cannot be Invited Over or Chatted with.

Erm, something noted is that adding the missing traits does not seem to affect the unique abilities of the Fireman, the Policeman, the Burglar and the Maid. The unique "traits" are not traits per se, but just added NPC related behaviours. All service Sims also lost their jobs when they were moved in.

Service Sims untested include Mail Carrier, Newspaper Delivery, Social Worker Adoption and Social Worker Child Protection; and I also can't get the Science Geek to appear after shiftclick-Mailbox->Force NPC...->More...->Science Geek is selected.

Also, please don't double post. Tongue

Anyway, does anyone know how to complete Guitar Star in the Guitar skill challenges? It says you need to play in 10 parties/venues to earn it. What exactly constitutes a 'venue'?

Blah blah.

To borrow a quote from the beautiful Patrick Bateman, I fail to see how this is my problem.

Waffle/woolgathering.

Thanks for sharing? I'm confused as to why you would bother telling us this though.
No reason, really.
I mean, there's no links to actual porn and allegedly we can't Google this porn star, so what's the point?

Or was that a rhetorical statement?
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 13:14:38
I got confused somewhere along the way in this thread.

To borrow a quote from the beautiful Patrick Bateman, I fail to see how this is my problem.

There's a gay-for-pay (allegedly straight but has gay sex) porn actor who goes by the same name: Patrick Bateman. At first glance, I'd thought it was him you were referring to, but I realized that that probably wasn't right. Luckily, Google doesn't even know who the porn actor is. Tongue

And now I'm not confused. So I shall go wash my hands three times now, instead of doing groanings.
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 29, 10:06:08
Has anyone found a way to cheat skill levels yet? The Lifetime Rewards thing with Cheat Engine was easy enough to think of, but I don't know what types of values they use to represent skill levels. Sad

And yes, I know that it's pretty sure that it's been asked, but damned if I'm gonna trawl through seveny-un pages. The search option didn't cough up much, aside from people saying that there is no way found so far. So my obvious choice was to ask again anyway. Tongue

I'm trying to test certain aspects of genetics, but this lack of shiftclickery is confusticating. No Speed Up My Pregnancy, no Spawn..., no Tombstone of Life And Death with which to impregnate Sims.

And speaking of that! What is this about male pregnancy? It seems to me like they didn't include the frameworks for guys to get pregnant (as they did with TS2 because of alien abduction) so does that mean that guys will have to endure invisibibbility in pregnancy? Sad What a blow to the homosimual rights movement. Gobias Koffi and whichever Frio brother he chooses will have to adopt or be invisibibble.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about the premades w/pets on: 2006 October 20, 05:00:13
The premade 2-dog and sim-dog families that come in the sim bin are now always installed into ANY hoods by default whether you had the neighborhoods before you install the pets or you make a new custom hood / regenerate the old hoods after installing. That kinda sucks. Tongue

Have 20 Simultaneous Pet Best Friends

This has got me curious, is it 'Have your Pet have 20 Simultaneous Best Friends' or 'Have 20 Simultaneous Best Friends of Pets' ?   The way the LTW is being phrased, could make it either way.

The sim who has the LTW wants to be best friends with 20 pets. Stupid crazy cat lady.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets EP questions... on: 2006 October 19, 01:46:37
No Maxis-hearted llama goodies this EP, unless they were hidden and need to be unlocked.

No uni leash pets, but you can, of course, have caged pets.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pets New Lifetime Wants on: 2006 October 18, 14:23:08
I would hate to have two strays wandering around my house, though.

The Leader of the Pack came and befriended my Sim in free will while I eat lunch in front of the computer. Said Leader also summons another wolf, or at least another showed up. A stray cat also wanders by at the same exact time and is greeted by me/my man. It turns out, wolves are hostile to other pets. My man's dog and three cats slip into the mess. All hell breaks loose.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have the bonus of PETS? on: 2006 October 18, 14:16:39
Umm about that, I think that this new Accessory.cache file in my user folder might be something. I tried opening it in SimPE (GLS version) and it's all gibberish to me. Maybe someone who speaks random hex code strings would know how to make sense of it. Tongue So I'm not sure about that 9 flag thingy, but after testing removing it, I can say this is the file that stores the data of which things you've unlocked.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have the bonus of PETS? on: 2006 October 18, 10:05:05
more codes as they were given to me (I can't try them yet)

blue camouflage collar: ZZZ11ZZZHZ1AQ91ZB1A, ZZZ11ZZZHQ11Q91ZB1A
bandit mask: EEGJ2YRQZQARQ9QHA64, ZZZ11ZZQHQAAQ91ZB1A

They work, thanks! Cheesy Also, any variants of passwords are because you can select an option to attach a Personalized String to any unlocked goodies, so you can have
"PescadoROX Pink Fur Color for Dogs" appear instead of "Pink Fur Color for Dogs" when your friend uses the code.

now that there have the codes that only need the link for enter the code and download.
or someone who already have the downloads can upload them and put here?

Options - (Press F5 to access while ingame)
--Game Options (the double gear icon)
beside "House Specific Options
Free Will
O Off
O On" there will be a key icon which, when highlighted, will say "Click to view unlocked assets and generate Sims Gift Codes to share your new content!"
At the bottom-right corner of the Unlocked Sims Gift Codes window, there should be another key icon with a 0101 under it.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have the bonus of PETS? on: 2006 October 18, 09:40:35
Alot of the unlocks occur randomly. I've had a few pets in a few careers and they get a random unlock at each career level.

Oh okay..

Also anyone notice in boolprop there is a spawn option for learning behaviors. I've tried it but i can't get a object to spawn.

It spawns an invisible, uninteractable object if there is nothing around your sim at the time of spawning. I have no idea how to get that piece of crud to work. Tongue

43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / New Sim Lifetime Wants shipped with Pets on: 2006 October 18, 08:41:29
Just thought I'd post for those who wanna know. Tongue
The 3 new Pets-related Lifetime Wants:

Family Aspiration
Raise 20 Puppies or Kittens
This one seems like it's not so bad. Litters can come out in 1-4 from breeding, or more efficiently, you can adopt (mass adopt, even) pups/kits from any phone. After a brief 3 day childhood, the cute little buggers become adults and you can ship them off to the Pet Adoption Agency / give them away / sell them to neighbors / kill them and move on to the next set of pests.

Popularity Aspiration
Have 20 Simultaneous Pet Best Friends
This one looks like it's a potentially bloody task to complete, seeing as stray pets are marginally fewer in number (initially, I have no idea what the cap is or if there is a cap) than townies, so you might have to create animal families / wait forever for the game to spawn them (-- that is, have a pet in the family so that pet walkbys will force the game to spawn some) / take advantage of a sim going for the Raise 20 Puppies or Kittens one.

Wealth Aspiration
Have 6 Pets Reach the Top Career Level
This isn't so hard after you get past the idea of the rigors of taking care and training 6 pets. Commands aren't so hard to learn, and if your pet is a Genius, your family isn't dirt poor so your sim has free time and/or your sim has some charisma, they're quite easy.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Someone have the bonus of PETS? on: 2006 October 18, 08:38:19
The different unlocks seem to really just be subtle random changes to a master password, but here are a few more codes assuming I didn't get cross-eyed when typing them in:

Edited because lindaetterlee and (a few seconds before she(?) posted) I figured out that the unlocks were random and not fixed according to job/level.
Random unlocks:
Pink Fur Color for Dogs -- ZZZ11ZZZ9Z1AQ91ZB1A
White Zebra Stripe Collar for Dogs -- ZZZ11ZZZHZ11Q91ZB1A
Orange Diagonal Stripe Collar for Dogs -- ZZZ11ZZZ9Z11Z91ZB1A

Black Smiley Collar for Cats -- ZZZ11ZZQ9Z1AQ91ZB1A
Pink Vertical Stripes Collar for Cats -- ZZZ11ZZQ9QAAQ91ZB1A
Pink Fur Color for Cats -- ZZZ11ZZQHZ11Z91ZB1A

On a side-thought, where would the data pertaining to which codes/skins you've unlocked be stored? Would it be possible to edit this to unlock everything / share this file once it's cracked?

Tongue
I found the pets a bit annoying, uninstalled Pets and restored my Uni/NL/OFB/FFS/GLS game folder so I didn't really spend much time playing once I got my copy. When my little bro manages to convince me, I'll reinstall and play a test family alongside him and try to unlock everything to share.
