Don't we all. *patpats Solowren*
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 19, 00:13:32
Oh! I thought the instructions stated that I needed to place both the stove and the painting, but your explanation makes much more sense. *feels silly*
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Changing Sim height or eye color in game on: 2008 June 18, 17:39:10
Perhaps the plastic surgery machine could be hacked to allow such things.
29  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Shopping district black on: 2008 June 18, 16:53:16
Never compress hacks. Bad things will happen.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 18, 16:33:09
It's the same way with the vacation lots, and that drives me batty. Why would my sim want a tropical vacation, when I haven't even installed Twikii (sp?) Island?
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 18, 12:58:31
I still only get the warning the first time I enter a 'hood, but I only have up to BV. Is this a new thing with FT? How annoying.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 05:41:16
Well, that's scary, isn't it? I feel so violated.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sporetrial and SecuRom on: 2008 June 18, 05:05:59
Am I the only one who doesn't remain connected to the internet when playing games, making sims, etc? Isn't it a generally good idea to disable stuff like antivirus software before playing games such as TS2 (I even disable my firewall, as I'm not online when I play TS2 or use Body Shop), which means that you should also disable your internet connexion, rather than go without antivirus protection? I understand that the creature creator isn't it a game, but it's still part of a game. If you're not connected to the internet when you run it, then it can't phone home.

Hmmm, from what I've read, it's probably a graphics-card problem, but I don't remember what others have done about it. Updating (or downgrading, depending on the problem) your driver might help, I would think.

Actually, on second thought, it looks like your day/night toggle might just be backward. Did you accidentally click it to make permanight in your 'hood?
35  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Eaxis House of Fail Makeover Challenge on: 2008 June 17, 18:46:12
These are all really beautiful. I meant to mention that in my first post, but I was too embarrassed after being a 'tard and posting the wrong makeover. I had pledged to not go on a downloading binge, but I am weak and made of phail. *yoinks many houses*

Sims2Wiki reports that Squinge had a 'vampires bite anyone' mod and it's at the Graveyard, obviously no idea whether it needs updating. Christianlov has one that makes Sims always accept a bite but don't know if it affects who can be bitten as I've not felt like messing with it.

Hmmm, well, I already have his 'bite neck' and 'always accept bit neck' hacks but the one you've mentioned is not at the graveyard.

* Compatibility: Seasons, Bon Voyage, FreeTime

Does this mean the hack will work if I only have one or two of these EPs, or do I need all three?
38  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Eaxis House of Fail Makeover Challenge on: 2008 June 17, 02:03:47
This may will get disqualified, as I originally made the house using a few bits of CC (mostly hacked objects), but removed them with Clean Installer prior to upload, AND IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LOT. Otherwise, it's all Maxis.

EDIT: Doh! I just realised that this challenge is based on a specific lot, and my makeover is of a different lot. Reading comprehension FTW! Oh well, I'll leave it here, anyway, because it may be of some use to somebody. Yes, I am having one of 'those' days.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 17, 00:58:16
Hmm... I wish it was possible to assign certain Sims in the house to "do chores" like a Servo so the big ol' manors can have live-in maids and butlers and the like. Currently you always have to macrotastics them to clean and then find them something to do so they aren't lounging on the couch. I know there are NPCs out there that do this sort of thing, but I'd rather use one of my many playables or townies. Something like Paladin's servo controller that would work on non-servos, perhaps...

I apologise if this has already been mentioned - I haven't finished reading the thread yet. Christianlov has updated his all-in-one NPC hack, and it's very easy to use. You place one of the custom stoves, place the custom painting, use the painting to select the various attributes you want for your NPC, assign the NPC (sometimes the game has to create one first), and then a servant shows up, dressed in the bartender's uniform. The only problem I've had with it is that, often, a second NPC shows up. Deleting it using MoveObjects on or banning it with TJ's visitor controller solves the problem. I've found that, after a couple of deletions, the erroneous NPC stops appearing.

While I'm here: I'd like a 'vampire can bite anyone' hack that does not rely on relationship score to allow neck-biting. I use a hack that only fulfills hunger for the vampire and drains energy for the victim when a vampire bites somebody, and a 'bite anyone' hack would be a welcome addition to my game. It seems realistic that a hungry vampire would be indiscriminate about who s/he bites, and wouldn't necessarily even want to bite friends, as friends know who they are and can report them to the authorities. Tongue

Also, I really, REALLY want a 'DJ STFU' hack. The female DJs don't bother me too much, but the males do this sort of falsetto sing-song that's just really fucking irritating, and they do it EVERY FEW SECONDS. I've also noticed that the maids no longer seem to clean up dishes or TV dinner-trays unless they're green with flies swarming about (the dishes, that is). This is new since BV, as far as I can tell, and it's stupid.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime and Autonomous Eating on: 2008 June 17, 00:45:38
Ah, I see how that could be a problem. Monique at InSim has some sort of hack that makes sims fix the proper food for the proper hunger-level, and to automatically serve food, instead of only making a single meal, based on whether or not other sims in the household are hungry, but it's only been updated through BV. It may still work for FT, though.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Freetime and Autonomous Eating on: 2008 June 17, 00:13:17
And here I am using hacks to STOP my sims from autonomously making food. I just use 'Macro../Eat' when I notice them getting hungry. To each his, own, I guess.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The new version of Securom demonstrates just how borked it is (Mass Effect) on: 2008 June 16, 22:52:29
That's why it's a good idea to wait for hacks (and hack updates), bug fixes, patches, etcetera, before even BUYING the game (unless you arrr, of course). I won't even consider a new EP or SP until said fixes are released. It's unfortunate, but it has to be done.
43  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Game is choking and dying. Wah! on: 2008 June 07, 06:11:45
If it's a laptop, try elevating it on a non-solid object (kitchen cooling racks work well).
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 07, 06:09:06
I wish we could plan funeral parties or wakes using the phone, like we can for house parties, etc. After all, there is a black buffet-table already in the game.
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's on YOUR Wish List? on: 2008 June 06, 19:45:43
Most of them do. It's the ones with high Outgoing points that'll walk around like that. Shyer sims will look down, gasp, and change into regular clothing, at least if they're naked. I agree that it's stupid to go outside in one's undies, though.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cheeze Nazi Silenced, Film At 11 on: 2008 June 06, 16:31:43
Mine hasn't died yet, but the signal has been very erratic. It'll go from 56 mbps to 18 mbps, to 1 mbps, back up to 18... Well, you get the picture.
47  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Monastery, renovated from a Maxis lot on: 2008 June 06, 16:28:23
You've done an awesome job, witch. Alas, I do not have FT yet, so I'll have to wait to download this. After I do get FT, I'll be heading down to laverwinkle!
48  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Halp, it broke it's self! (Or, boot.ini woes) on: 2008 June 06, 05:15:44
I've heard/read that their products are getting to be better quality, and they do actually have very good support (usually). They also seem to have a lot more upgrades available when ordering from them. I know several people who have Dells, who are perfectly happy with them.
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Three-story house with major complications. on: 2008 June 06, 05:13:19
Hmmm, for the second foundation, have you tried the indoor split-level foundation rather than the typical brick one? Sorry, I can't remember which EP it came with. Pets or Seasons, I think.
50  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Halp, it broke it's self! (Or, boot.ini woes) on: 2008 June 06, 04:53:14
Yeah, I'd go ahead and try the repair install. That's fixed a number of problems for me in the past. Then again, talking to Dell support could be helpful too (unlike me in this post).
