76  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: Suggest Outfit Fix *EXPERIMENTAL* on: 2007 March 07, 10:06:38
Any news on the Seasonability of this hack? It's not in the Seasons directory, so it's banned from my game at the moment...
77  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2006 November 08, 11:28:56
Other than Pescado's, I have the following hacks installed:

Paintings stay visible by Twojeffs (updated after Pets)
Food already available + Low food warning + Visitors snacking fix by Twojeffs (not updated)
Moveinall by Pinhead at MTS2 (not updated)
Custom objects placeable on shelves by Numenor at MTS2 (not updated)
Pregnancy wear any outfit from MTS2 (not updated)
StayThingsShrub (not updated)
Timeclock + Help shoppers first by Paladin at Simwardrobe (not updated)
Teleporter shrub by Inge (not updated)

The two that looks most likely to affect phone routines are the teleporter shrub and the moveinall. I will try removing them as my next step.

I also have a number of hacks by Pescado that haven't been updated yet, but I kind of assume that if one of those was the cause it would already have come up here...
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lots resetting all the time on: 2006 November 08, 11:06:17
Thanks for the suggestion about sethour.

To answer some of the other questions, the lots do keep resetting, they didn't just reset once after installing the expansion (which I expected). And I don't have any beds hack.

I am now refraining from updating any hacks, and we'll see if that fixes it -- you never know.

Going away for 3 weeks now though, so I'll probably need to update when I'm back. The experiment may not be possible right now. Oh well, we'll see.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Lots resetting all the time on: 2006 November 06, 18:22:48
This has been happening pretty much since I installed Pets (and did not happen before). When I open a lot that I had played previously, there seems to be a 50% or better chance that the lot will be reset -- characters standing around doing nothing with bladder bar half-way and hunger bar some way down, and if they were supposed to be at work they've missed it.

It doesn't seem to reset to a specific time, but I wouldn't swear to that. The latest instance reset to 09:59 (but it may have been the time I'd left it at).

I have updated all the awsome hacks and all of the other hacks that I could find, but I do have a number of hacks installed that are not updated. If necessary, I will remove them all and then test, but because of the nature of the problem this is particularly tedious. So I'm hoping that someone else here knows the problem and ideally has a solution for it...

(I have searched and checked the thread and found nothing post-Pets about it: if i've missed something, do feel free to point me in the right direction.)

So it is, I had forgotten.

However, I have the latest version of the phone hack installed (yep, checked right now, 23 Oct...), and this is still happening.
81  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2006 November 06, 14:10:42
Ok, now running with the latest, shiniest and awsomest version of Autoyak, and the parent still shows up on the lot when I call a child. Further checked that this also happens when I call via "Call Sim", not just "Call Friends" (which had been where I'd seen it previously).

In all cases I've been calling from a mobile. My Sims don't use landlines as a rule :-)
82  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2006 November 05, 20:20:43
Well ok someone's cheating here  Grin

There's now a version of autoyak under Pets that's dated 6 November, and it's still the 5th over here!

Anyway -- will download and install, then report. (I thought I was safe, I had redownloaded all updated hacks just last night...)

83  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2006 November 05, 18:53:48
I have an interesting new variation on the old problem of sims showing up on your lot when you phone them. Now, if someone calls a child on the phone after children's curfew in the evening, the called child's parent appears on the lot (as if they had come to take the child home) and stands by the entrance port (possibly because there is no child to take home), while the phone conversation with the child goes on as normal.

(If I then interact with the parent, they remain as normal guests until 2 am. And they don't need to be greeted before interacting.)

Hope this is helpful il finding out what's going on... I assume it's AutoYak because of the related problem mentioned above. It could of course be something else entirely.
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can you actually make money running a restaurant? on: 2006 August 13, 14:19:45
Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. I have Relevant wages, not BRY though because I don't tend to go for extra automation -- I'm a micromanaging freak  Smiley

Thanks for the replies. Running the restaurant is fun, pity about the money. I wish I could get parties of diners rather than just single sims. That would make it more fun, as well as probably generating more income.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Can you actually make money running a restaurant? on: 2006 August 13, 08:32:01
...because I can't. Maybe I'm just retardo... But I only get single customers who come in, buy one dish, go. The restaurant is now level 9, it runs with only 2 employees (and 2 playables), the cook is lev 10 cooking, the price is Expensive, but it still only makes a ridiculously small amount of money every day.

Am I missing something (leaving aside cheats), or is it really impossible to run a successful restaurant?
86  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Eat Crap II: Electric Boogaloo on: 2005 November 30, 14:22:13
I have this hack installed but it doesn't work. It used to. I'm pretty sure that it *used* to work when I first installed it (i.e. when I installed the NL update).

I have no idea why it stopped working. I don't have the "eat more talk less" hack, so it's not that. I've tried reinstalling the updated hack, and it made no difference. My sims are eating rotten food and stuffing themselves until the dish is polished.

Anybody else had the same problem, or has suggestions?

TIA,
Anna
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Don't Talk, EAT! grrrr on: 2005 September 23, 17:03:33
What I don't like is the way single Sims out for a meal are sat at separate tables, I'd rather they were put with someone else, or even better asked "Do you want to dine alone, or with other Sims?"  That way if they needed social, or to meet people, they'd have the chance.
Someone already suggested forming a casual group before leaving home. What I have done a few times is form a casual group on the spot, in the restaurant (though of course people you have never met are unlikely to accept).

The other thing is -- I think that is what the option "Be seated at counter" is for. I say "I think" because I haven't actually had a chance to test it yet, but I think it means that you will have a chance of socializing with other Sims who are sitting at the counter, either eating or drinking. (I'll test it next time I get a chance...)

Lurvely!  Grin
Now, does anybody know where to find skirts for men? Or robes, if you want to make it sound less kinky  Wink I have some fantasy character Sims who look just wrong in trousers...
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 17, 18:08:13
Can anybody interact with Mrs Crumplebottom?  Whenever my sim tries to speak with her the actions are dropped from the queue.  I don't know if this is a bug or by design Undecided
Datapoint: me too. No idea if it's a bug or design.

2.) You could probably tweak the Graphics Rules.sgr file in Program Files and try to make your machine look like a higher spec machine so that you have cinematics again.  We needed to bump up the specs so that we could pass the baseline FPS test with the neighboring lots visible.

So, not really a bug, but I'm quite interested... would anybody here have the details on this? Specifically:

1) How do I tweak the file? (it's complex and I wouldn't want to mess it up too badly, but maybe someone here has already done it and can tell me...)
2) Is it enough to modify the file under Program Files, or should I copy it into some folder under Documents?

Thanks in advance!
