Figuratively speaking of course. Just an analogue folks. No need to take it seriously.

Cheesy I know I was just cursing generally. As you do..

No I have no hacks to do with ageing. I realise that this is a known glitch that has to do with the coding and not the puter. But the puter is easier to kick than the coding.

4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OK so the BV glitch got me on: 2008 June 03, 19:19:01
Thanks to all. Yes the ageing is working but at 90-odd days although it does count down from there more or less normally.

Who wants Sims who live that long? Not I. Stupid mac.

Thanks for suggestions and advice.

5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / OK so the BV glitch got me on: 2008 June 01, 20:39:14
I recently had the well-known "repeating vacation" glitch the one where when your Sims get home the BV taxi comes right back to pick them up again.

So I lost my family. All the non-cheating fixes did not work and I had to use boolprop to get them back. Now put into a new house I note that ageing seems to be  buggered. A hacked object confirms this, telling me that the two Sims have 96 and 97 days to live.

Er..what the hell? ageing is normal with the kid they had post-glitch.

Advice?

6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Married twins on: 2008 April 27, 19:41:21
Pity Sims don't have two-headed brats. Predictably enough the twins had twins (yawn) I really hate the puter at times.

Apropos of which, is there any way to change a surname for mac-using peasants like myself? I can't warm to "Subject" as a last name (yes, Nervous was one of the adopting parents)

7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Married twins on: 2008 April 25, 21:41:57
Oh spare us Tristan and Isolde (and Gotterdammerung)

Easy to get brats removed. Just ignore their every need

Incest. A game for all the family.

9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Married twins on: 2008 April 25, 21:11:52
I did this just to find out if it was possible.  I got a set of boy-girl twins taken by the social worker then got them adopted into different families.

As children they were friends, as teens they fell in love and went steady. As young adults in college they got engaged. As adults they married and are now expecting their first kid.

I'm amazed I was able to do this. The genetics should be interesting to say the least.

So do I. And the wretched machine is a mac and a big powerful one too.

Still crashing

11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Just a heads-up on: 2008 April 06, 23:05:24
Not a few of the downloads from this http://www.simsdesignavenue.net/EN/themes/menu_themes.php  site are causing my machine to crash like a frickin Russian spaceship

Avoid the "Rosee de Matin" and "Out of the Way cafe" in particular

I had problems with this stuff before (a pity as it is really good). Currently it is fucking up my decorative items selection. If I select either "All" or "Misc" from that menu the puter crashes straight back to the desktop.

Not good. Just to warn others,

12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Strange Uni problem on: 2008 March 10, 21:02:45
I've just put in the no university immunity hack for the NPC's. Good stuff it is too! Much more fun to watch the buggers pee themselves etc.

However I also have the College Adjuster, a hack I find indispensible. Now an odd problem has developed with the Uni skills bars. Even if the Sim has the correct skills for their major the bar is stuck with those little markers that usually show you what skills they need to advance. Even adding more skills (vanilla or cheated) dosen't help.

Moving the Sim to a different lot does unstick it but the problem tends to occur with multiple Sims that I wanted to go to college together.

Is this a hack conflict? The debugger dosen't shift it (although I am mightily enjoying the smiting)

13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Always twins in any pregnant. Help!!! on: 2008 March 08, 20:48:09
I've had a terrible run of twins births lately. It happened three times in the same family (with two different women) then in one CAS-created family then in an older family twice.

I give UP. My previous computer ( a PowerMac) was a terror for the twins plague. This one, a modest dual-core MacPro started off OK but now seems to have caught Twin Plague Syndrome.

14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Only slightly dead? on: 2008 March 05, 21:19:09
Thank you kindly Gynarchy. I'll install that directly.

OK update, Awesome as the Lot Debugger is is does not help here as  live mode is not accessible and I have no living Sim to use it with.

The toasted tot still appears in the family bin and the option to move her to a lot is still there but the debugger does not work with no live mode.

Would adding her to an existing occupied lot work do you think?

Yup that worked fine. No tombstone or urn but the stiff sprog is no more.

Thank you to everyone.

15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Only slightly dead? on: 2008 March 05, 20:34:35
Well excuse me for existing  Grin

I still have no clue what the hell the lot debugger is.

16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Only slightly dead? on: 2008 March 04, 23:52:40
What teleporter bush and what lot debugger? As I said I'm mac-using so some common PC tools do not work for me.

I can't ressurrect the brat as no-one outside her family knew her. I'm stuck with her. No matter.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Only slightly dead? on: 2008 March 04, 22:29:52
I can't SEE the kid. She does not exist. Despite occupying lots there is no-one there. I cannot interact with a brat my computer cannot see.

I assume something went wrong with the death token.

18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Only slightly dead? on: 2008 March 04, 21:14:40
Dear me but Grimmy has got it in for me lately what with wussy unscary ghosts and now this.

Simple enough scenario. I was playing the "Traveller" family from BV. Mum puts some toaster pastries in the oven (those things are bloody lethal), turns the kitchen into a raging inferno and the entire family is toast before you can say "Stupid Sims". As it was a pre-made family and I couldn't really care less I saved and exited the lot only to find that the lot shows in the neighbourhood screen as being still occupied by a dead child.

I can (and did) move the corpse child to the "Families" bin and was amused to find I can move this rotting rug-rat to other lots. The taxi shows but no-one gets out yet that lot will show as occupied. By an invisible and evidently immortal brat.

How on earth do I get rid of this bucket-kicked kid? Not a major problem but an odd one. I'm mac-using  BTW so stuff like Sim PE etc isn't an option.

Suggestions?

19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Borked needs bars. on: 2008 February 28, 22:12:48
Gah I don't bloody believe this. I installed a couple of MATY hacks yesterday, the "Don't wave at me" one and the one that fixes the BV gardener problem. I already have College Adjuster, No Friends for Promotions, No Baby Harrassment and Preg for all genders, oh yeah and the BV anti-gesturing thingy.

Since then my legacy family (and ONLY them) have developed rapidly-falling needs bars particularly bladder and hygeine. This is not to be understood. I don't have the souvenirs thingy that allegedly causes this and as the new hacks have not affected any other family it can't be that either.

I don't want to lose the legacy lot with all the graves and whatnot on it. I've tried everything from using moveobjects to reload the individual Sims to moving half the family out then back in again.

Any ideas VERY gratefully received.

20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bring out your undead (please) on: 2008 February 24, 21:43:16
Well that is exactly what I mean. These ghosts are a bunch of "living-disabled" big girls blouses. They are total rubbish. They obviously spend all their time at ghostie workshops entitled things like "The Living And Why You Should Not Go BOOYAH"

Frankly I've seen scarier Sims. What is with these crunchy-granola organic ghosts?

21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bring out your undead (please) on: 2008 February 22, 23:33:59
What on earth has happened with ghosts since BV? First I got a bizarre (and very aggressive) haunting from a tombstone held in Inventory, something I did not think was possible.

Now I'm getting total wussy ghosts in my community graveyards. Instead of scaring the hell out of everyone (and I rely on this to fulfill my knowledge sims ever-present "See A Ghost" want) these mild-mannered wimpy liberal excuses for the vengeful shades of the underworld merely jump in and out of their tombstones a few times then bugger off without even trying to make anyone cack their pants. This is not on.

I want proper scary ghosts. What the hell is wrong with these deceased denizens?

22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trailer trash/ Chav names on: 2008 February 18, 21:59:47
Or Apple. And I say this as a mac-user.

23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trailer trash/ Chav names on: 2008 February 18, 19:47:21
Kind of reminds me of a former Chancellor of the Exchequer who had three daughters named respectively Thomasina, Nigella and Horatia. Sort of get the idea he wanted sons?

24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Trailer trash/ Chav names on: 2008 February 17, 18:56:03
Believe it or not the "Ayslhyn" name was randomly diced up. There was this complicated letters-to-numbers random name generator that some clever bugger thought up. Most of the time it landed you with names like "Ssqittchmus" but just occasionally it did generate a decent name. So I diced it up,liked it and used it for a character who went on to become a ludicrously powerful magic-user. The character was male though. Go figure.

I'm now going to hide under my mac for being such a nerdile dweeb and making public admission of the origin of the name.

And I have enough chavvy names for a lifetime of simming.

Thanks to one and all. My own appallingly chavvy username (for those who are interested) derives from a D&D character of mine. Yes I AM that much of a nerd. Goes back decades before these newfangled computer thingies.....eeeh back in the old days you made your own fun with pencils, paper and percentile dice.

You youngsters.....
