Thank you! I will try your version for a while as I hate to mess with interests.
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATED 20.4.06* on: 2006 April 22, 16:16:33
My sim-self and sim hubby kept having ugly little boys with jowls like a bulldog and teeth that stuck out through their gums!!!  They were hideous!!!  I can't find any pictures of the, wish now I had taken some.  LOL  I just sent them to the plastic surgery machine ASAP!

But, then again, all 4 boys are now adults and breeding.   LOL

Are their offspring just as ugly as they were?
78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATED 20.4.06* on: 2006 April 21, 09:41:13
I doubt he will win any beauty contests even as an adult but he should at least become less of an eyesore.
He looks normal to me in that picture.

His eyes are bigger now but still way smaller than a normal "human bean".
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATED 20.4.06* on: 2006 April 20, 06:41:13
Toddlers often have malformed features, particularly if they have a number of strong facial traits, since their heads are not big enough to express or contain them. Once they get older, they start looking more normal. The game is optimized for adult faces.

I doubt he will win any beauty contests even as an adult but he should at least become less of an eyesore.
80  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATE 20.04.06* on: 2006 April 20, 06:26:01
I would never harm a sim, even a sim as ugly as Mort here.

He is now a child and his features have improved (slightly):

Here's hoping teendom will continue improving his looks!
81  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Papers and pillows are psychedelic and modular stairs are blue.. on: 2006 April 18, 21:09:05
Do you have OFB? I used to have this problem, but I updated the drivers to play Oblivion, and the problem doesn't seem to exist for me anymore.

At any rate, this has convinced me to buy an ATI the next time I got a card.

Take it from a long time ATI user, stick to Nvidia... Even with the nonsense with the colors flashing, it is a FAR better card. Shows bump mapping perfectly etc.
82  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Papers and pillows are psychedelic and modular stairs are blue.. on: 2006 April 11, 17:03:25
I installed a better graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 6600GT) and now the pillows are psychedelic colored when sims sleep sideways, the newspaper likewise when it is being read, water puddles are bright green and the cheapest modular stairs are now blue instead of green.

I have googled and found out that this is due to an Nvidia driver that doesn't work and that you have to install an older driver to fix it. But is there perhaps another way of fixing this? And no, the newest driver still does not work...
83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: spyware in SimPE exe? on: 2006 April 09, 10:15:56
If you'r using XP, try msconfig.exe. On the last tab vitually all of them can be unchecked.

Yes, Start>Run>msconfig>Startup is your friend. Also Start>Run>regedit and then Edit <name of spyware program>
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hidden Lifetime Wants? on: 2006 April 09, 10:11:10
Snootysims tend to be more prone to rumor-mongering, they're basically the opposite of MATY.

Yes, but they do get the real news first too. Problem is to sort out which is which...  Cheesy
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *Now with discernible features!* on: 2006 April 09, 10:09:42
Oh snap. Now that I can see the pic I can see that IS the ugliest simchild ever. I want to see pics of him as a kid and teen and so on!

I promise to post follow-up pics of him. And it fits actually that he is ugly. See, he is a rich heir in an evil Victorian family that runs an orphanage, so this is going to turn into an interesting story... Shocked
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Possible to make genie NPC? on: 2006 April 08, 21:24:24
Sounds cool!
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: About individualism in sims, obsessive/stupid behaviour, mods and feeling lonely on: 2006 April 08, 21:18:36
Nadira, I feel like that sometimes too.
Then I take a break for a month or three and then I start wanting to play again.
And I get an idea for something I have not tried before. Right now I am running a Victorian orphanage / boarding school with the help of Inge's objects and All About Style's fantastic outfits. The couple running it a very evil (of course) and have an unending slapfest with each other.

See, this is the clue about the game for me. Don't be so concerned with the new features. I don't use them until they fit MY purpose for the story in my head. I can't be bothered to actually write down the stories, too impatient for that, but having some basic idea about where things are going makes it even more fun when the sims decide to override my plans.

I have yet to have a zombie in the game and I only had a vampire for a short while earlier this week (the evil woman in the orphanage). Try to use your imagination for what you want to play instead of letting the sim decide for you, at least create a setting for the story in your head and you will see that it becomes fun again.

88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hidden Lifetime Wants? on: 2006 April 08, 21:10:02
I know, MissDoh. It was just a hope against hope that there was something to enable hidden deep in the crevices of the game.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! on: 2006 April 08, 21:08:59
I can see it now. That kid is damn ugly. Damn ugly.

Congrats!  Grin

 Cheesy Thank you!

I was very surprised. I hope he grows better looking.
90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! on: 2006 April 08, 20:50:22
Grin It was WAY past midnight that night...
Let me try again

*starts game*

That better? Just refresh the page to see the poor kid in the first post.

Try making their interests similar and then chat. The  more deliberate 'friendly' interactions you make, the better relationship they will get.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hidden Lifetime Wants? on: 2006 April 08, 20:17:03
Shucks. Oh well, I guess it was too good to be true.
93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Hidden Lifetime Wants? on: 2006 April 08, 19:56:13
I just read a chart at SnootySims (yeah, Maty withdrawal alright) over the different Lifetime Wants possible in the game.
I don't know if this is true or not but it listed certain LTW that are only available if you don't have NL installed.
Is that true? Can they possibly be enabled again since they are in the game in the first place?

Here's the link: http://www.snootysims.com/lifetime.php
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 07, 06:13:48
Edit: Sorry, my adsl router is playing up and I seem to have managed to quote myself. :/ Post removed.

@sciberg - sheepwrangler? IT support? Bet you feel like being a sheepmangler sometimes...

You bet... I am not on anti-depressants for nothing. Hopefully I will get another job sometime soon.
 Wink
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Inge where are thou? on: 2006 April 06, 20:30:17
Inge, you are my hero. One of the great sim modders out there is female! How many other games can say the same thing about their modders?
If you still need me to test your institution bunks, pm me and I will send the results to you.

I will miss your site and I hope you will feel like modding again in a bit.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My ugliest in-game born child EVER! on: 2006 April 06, 06:09:43
Remind me how I turn that on again.
I pressed TAB and tried to zoom in more but somehow it didn't work...
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / My ugliest in-game born child EVER! *UPDATED 20.4.06* on: 2006 April 05, 23:17:52
I'm baack!

Finally felt like simming again and what happens?

A creep is born...

His parents are very pretty but I guess the mix was wrong.

I will try to post a better pic tomorrow, but anyway, he has eyes like pinpoints and a very angular face.

*tired...*
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OT - You know you're an internet geek when.... on: 2006 January 22, 08:37:58
I do all my banking online and find it a huge inconvenience when I have to write a cheque.  In fact, I usually have to turn the house upside them looking for them!

Imagine having to get your mum to post your cheque book to Germany, so you can write her a cheque back, because your internet banking wont send money from another country.

Have you heard of paypal.com? That's what we use to transfer money back and forth from Norway to the US. Of course, you do need two paypal accounts. One that has a foreign bank account connected to it and one that has a US one. Works great! And no fees either.
99  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Programmable Sleep Clock v3.2 (01/13/06) on: 2006 January 22, 08:29:12
This hack is a bit too complicated for me to use.
I have tried to use it but I am not about to print out the list of bed type codes or learn them by heart in order to use this hack.

Is there any way you can make this hack more user-friendly? Like, say, have it automatically pick up the bed-type that is located in the same room as the clock?
100  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Possible hack? Dorm-style apartment building in hood on: 2006 January 18, 09:10:02
Unfortunately, it didn't seem to work for me. I changed the zoning to dorm after my sim claimed a door, then exited and saved to neighborhood (to finalize the zoning change)

in my notes on changing zoning, it says you can't have a sim already living on the lot when you change it  Huh

That's what I heard too. And you can't do changelotzoning to dorm in a residential neighborhood anyway. Does not work. Unless someone is able to hack it.
