I love your houses!
Is there any way to download one of your neighborhoods complete with lots placed (and maybe even a few families)?
I have no idea how to do that, and I'm sure it would be a monster to download, but I might check into that Thanks for the compliments King Corky! Thank you! I would be very happy if it it was possible.

I had a sim spawn a plantsim (not all that great-looking) have him grow up and spawn another plant-sim (fairly decent looking if I say so myself). I cured them both and they are still not bad looking, although it seems that talking to regular sims about their plantsim experience seems to not impress other sims...

Colossal cave..... I never got the hang of SimAnt and SimCity was impossible when you upped the difficulty, remember that awful disaster noise when your whole city was going up in flames? I still play Colonization - anyone ever heard of it? By today's standard the graphics suck and the music always was glitchy and electronic sounding, but I remember just loving the beginning with the intro picks of European docks and then this little ship in the middle of the big blue ocean with no land in sight.... Still play it sometimes.
What's the point in cheating? - cheats cheat themselves.. mum was a teacher so I absorbed that whole ethic like blotting paper. The game's too easy already. I cheat when something has screwed up on the lot, but that's about it.
SimAnt just aggravated me, SimFarm even more so, but Colonization is still fun! Transport Tycoon Deluxe too. I get all my old games from "Home of the Underdogs" (can't get link to there at work).

I agree JAM, but you still have to rest your eyes on them and *shudder* breed them and I for one prefer green humanlooking sims to hideous monstrosities. I've got enough of those with the Maxis made townies....

BTW, what distro(s) do you run on your Linux boxes? Well, "distro" implies it's distributed, which isn't entirely accurate, but I run Black Hat Linux. Strangely appropriate name.... But you're right, that is not a distro, that is just software and information about how to protect yourself. Unless you build your own Linux version?

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Anyone know what this means? News item on Thesims2.com today

Who cares about the news of new EP's, THIS is what got me puzzled:
In other news, we've been bumping into a lot of community members here in the Sims studio. Famed sims creator, HappyMoonBelly, joined us as a full-time employee in the video capture department and is now known as MaxoidMoonBelly. There are three new QA testers from the community.
Now, I knew about HappyMoonBelly, but who are the three new QA testers from the community?
Anyone know?

I am running Ubuntu Breezy on the hubby's puter. No Linux on mine as there is so far no way of running Sims 2 on Linux, although you can install it using VMWare, it just doesn't run very well because of the DirectX issues.

I find the association of jobs with interests to be helpful: I try to assign sims to the jobs they thus want as a result, and thus when I have sims talking to them, I know what to pick as a topic and know they'll talk about.
I much prefer my sims to be unpredictable. To me, it adds some challenge that way. But I was wondering, I hate to go downtown just to purchase the required magazines for interest generation. Could the interest magazines be incorporated into a buyable bookcase instead?
