51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Pets- Whats borked thread on: 2011 November 18, 09:08:28
Why on earth don't pets' hunger bars fill up from eating their prey? I don't expect a bug to have the same level of hunger satisfaction as a bowl of kibble, but you'd think there'd be some hunger satisfaction from nomming on their kills, particularly since drinking out of the toilet appears to fill them up!
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Pets- Whats borked thread on: 2011 November 12, 22:09:49
Hunter training seems to be broken, in that a cat can learn hunting skill from eating, guarding furniture, sleeping, playing with humans, playing with other cats (not just the pounce interaction either), breathing, going to the toilet, etc. All the while through training fatigue. It's taken my sim cat 3 days to get to level 8 hunter. Surely that can't be right?!

ETA: reset sim fixed the sticky hunter training issue. I really hope I'm not going to have to do this for every pet I train. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

will give redownloading them a try. Always download a fresh batch once I install a new ep/sp anyway just to be on the safe side, but you never know with downloads.

No green numbers. Interesting.

FPS limiter does not appear to resolve overheating problems for me with Pets, no matter where I put it. (old instructions or new - to be clearer). Lot view is at between 45 - 70FPS, hood view isn between 100 - 130FPS.

Is anyone else having this issue?
56  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2011 November 07, 12:42:54
Click on bed 'set as butler x's bed'. Awesomemod ignores this nifty little game feature and proceeds to send tired sims to that one bed, regardless of where it is in proximity to the tired sim.
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2011 November 06, 11:37:10
It just goes for a random bed unless there's a set butler bed about in which case it zeroes straight in on it for me without fail. Might just be sim stupidity, I don't think I've trained this particular family not to fuck up enough. Time for mayhem & death!
58  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2011 November 06, 10:11:41
Is there any way to make macro/go to sleep disregard the butler's bed?

Well now that you're here...
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Pets on: 2011 October 21, 00:21:18
So EA decided to give everyone an easter egg hunt for their codes, hiding them in different places even within the same country's distributions so that nobody would truly know where to look for the code unless they were willing to experiment. Joy!
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Pets on: 2011 October 20, 12:06:32
I got two codes. The one on the red card was the actual one for my game. I have no idea what the one on the booklet is for, but it doesn't work for the game itself. I'm thinking EA switched up the Limited Edition stuff redemption code and the activation code.

Well then. I'm glad I didn't get a booklet at all, to further confuse me. For reference, in my box (Euro version)  were the following: scrap of paper with generic installation/warranty/epilepsy advice, flyer with an ad for Hidden Springs and Sims mobile phone games, and the red flyer with Sims Social on one side and the so-called code for the EXCLUSIVE CONTENTZ, which worked without complaint as the activation code during installation. Just the one code to be had in my copy, and mislabelled it was, to boot.

In light of this, I might give the super secret content activation code a try. Later. Like some time next month when I actually have time. Why is it that gigs all happen at the same time?

Narky phonecall to EB games tomorrow it is then!
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / TS3 Pets on: 2011 October 20, 04:44:20
I have a question for those of you who have bought the game in dvd form. Does the game come with an activation code?

I got my pre-order copy today & there is no activation code anywhere. The only code-like thing is the redemption code for the store content. Am I missing something important or is there a can of whoopass with EA's name on it waiting to be unleashed on my end?
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / The Amazing Race for Sims 3 on: 2011 October 13, 09:04:57
Let me state from the outset that this is a 'for fun' play with using some of the lesser played aspects (for me anyway) of the vacation hoods. There are no points alloted - because there is no point. After all, as in the real amazing race, there can be only one (winner).

The challenge starts with 8 sims. The home lot can be as awesome or as crappy as you like - only the losers will spend much time there. The majority of these challenges can be performed by sims autonomously. Those that can be performed autonomously should be performed autonomously.  Some of the home hood challenges can be completed with the use of awesomemod's macros. These are noted in the instructions. The final challenge - in France - requires some clicking on the part of the player but all actions can be queued. If a sim stomps his or her queue, negating the commanded actions, they are considered to have dropped out of the challenge.

Home hood - each sim must macro/find gems & metals. The last sim to find gold* is out of the race.

China - each sim must head to the academy where they must learn the martial art of sim fu. The last sim to complete the task is out of the race.

Home hood - each sim must head to the park. In their inventory is a guitar. The last sim to gain a point in guitar skill is out of the race.

Egypt - each sim must head to the marketplace where they must learn how to charm a snake. The last sim to complete the task is out of the race.

Home hood - each sim must macro/find gems & metals. The last sim to find diamond* is out of the race.

Home hood - each sim must head to the park. The last sim to complete a game of chess is out of the race.

France - each sim must head to the nectary where they must harvest fruit then make their own wine using their hand-picked produce. The last sim to complete the task is out of the race.

*exchange for metal/gem of choice depending on difficulty in your game of finding it. For me, gold comes up after about 3-4 searches with the macro, so it shouldn't be an all-night task to get 7 sims to find some. Same deal for diamond, usually about 8-9 searches before finding any, but still enough out there for 4 sims to squabble over.

I'm not sure where that little addendum is legal, but I'm sure as hell glad it's not in Australia.
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAST in Build and Buy Mode Bogging Down the Game on: 2011 October 04, 11:42:32
Then I notice the absolutely SICK amount of memories I've managed to get(why the hell did they implement them in the first place?)
They implemented them BECAUSE PEOPLE DEMANDED THEM, because people are IMBECILES and never contemplating the implications of what they are asking for.

I was happy without memories. I was horrified when they returned. I thank the mods Pescado & Twallan for giving me back the game I wanted rather than the one foisted upon me by bleating stupidity.

Jonas, go here, download that mod, go into your game, out in to town view & click on city hall and select the Nrass menu. You will eventually find a control in there that gives you the option to turn off memories for the entire world. please note that this only works in the main world and does not apply to the vacation worlds. Now since you're here I am going to assume you have awesomemod in, so to save yourself some time, you can clear memories for your entire town that way. Unfortunately, this is the most reliable way to keep memory spam down in the vacation worlds, so if you play them a lot, I'd recommend clearing memories once every few sim hours or they will get monstrous. And remember to clear memories before your sims head home. Without the memories you will find that your game does not lag unless your gaming runs to 4-5 hours in a session, in which case it's time to get up & take your dog for a walk instead of gaming all day.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Change active household during vacation on: 2011 June 29, 09:50:40
That save is (probably) fucked, try playing from a previous save. Your other option is to do something different to what you normally do (stop playing it exactly the same way - make a minor change to the "script" as it were) then save (under a different file name) then try to leave the vacation hood.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations: What Sucks, What's Fucked, and What Did EA Get Right by Utter Luck on: 2011 June 16, 02:32:38
I noticed last night that a couple of toddlers from other households that I never touched aged instantly to young adults. I have played around with the age settings in the game, and I use no other aging hacks than what comes with AM (test version).

Interesting. Well, there goes my theory. I guess it must be random dumb luck as to whether or not you get the aging bug.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations: What Sucks, What's Fucked, and What Did EA Get Right by Utter Luck on: 2011 June 15, 00:06:10
I'm not certain he's right about that, if that is what he's implying. At least no more so than AwesomeStory does, comparing both around the time I did the switch-over. To my knowledge SP hasn't really changed in that functionality. It's more about using what's already in game in part of the background of your game, same as Awesome. At any rate, aging has changed in a big way in Gen, so perhaps it's more that the game now requires a different approach.

Speaking of the aging bug - my observation is that it appears that people who have played around with the new aging settings aren't having the aging bug, but those sticking to their favourite aging hacks are having issues. I'm not by any means suggesting that the aging hacks themselves are broken, however it might be an idea to move the aging sliders around (and just pop them back to normal) then save changes & see if that helps resolve any aging issues. I'd love to know if my observation is circumstantial, correlatory or has basis in fact. Actually, it might be better to do a show of hands & see if my observation is made of fail. So, if you've played with the aging sliders & are still having the issue, you're encouraged to tell me so in the most obnoxious manner possible (prize for the winner).

I'm not getting an aging bug.  My sims are aging up at the rates I specified in game options.  Could it be tight pants?

My only mods are AM, assorted Twallan (SP, overwatch, register, careers, master controller) and Buzzler birth control mirror.  The statement by Pescado here : http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,18136.msg574415.html#msg574415 seems to suggest it might be Twallan SP (unless I'm really misunderstanding it) but others in this thread say they aren't using Twallan SP.  Curious.

You are grossly misunderstanding it. I don't have the aging bug. I did have a hiccup in my game when two playables aged up at once and story progression tried to fix the hiccup. Awesomemod complained. I posted the error report for both pes & twallan not knowing whose mod was responsible. Story progression will eventually get a rewrite in that area to fix the issue awesomemod didn't like.

That answered exactly zero of my questions.

Go suck a bowl of dicks cocknobbler. I was telling you how you could find out for yourself.

The imaginary friend ages up if the sim kid ages up on the home lot.

I am pretty sure the cost you pay for doing all this in docking fees pretty much turns this into a net negative.

There's a bonus in social and a bonus in relationship, and if they're going to bug me with wants & autonomous asks anyway they can get some damned learnin' in at the same time as far as I'm concerned.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations: What Sucks, What's Fucked, and What Did EA Get Right by Utter Luck on: 2011 June 09, 23:37:46
Yes, yes it does. Not a lot, because you don't get much reading in before the kid falls asleep, but the kid does learn from it.

I didn't see a skillbar above the parent's head, so maybe not for them. But for the kid, yes, certainly.

Does anyone know where the dispel rumours interaction has disappeared to?
