Stuff that for a joke (and starting again from the bottom can go screw itself)

I'll play again later and see if I can figure out why she's getting a raise instead of a promotion. There's no sensible reason for it, but then again, I've known perfectly sane sims to decide to bunk off early on a Friday for no good reason, so if that's the case (which it shouldn't be because it was after knock-off time when I got the message about the raise) I can punish her directly. If it's just the usual 'look we want you to work late tonight so no promotion for you' then I'm going to be very pissed off & give her her damned promotion manually. Because contrary to the game's beliefs, she's damned well earned it!
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Medical Career Raeg! on: 2012 July 15, 06:12:36
Okay, so before I start, let me just state that I have my mods set to 'only one may lead = false'. So there is no modly reason (theoretically) why the following should be happening.

My sim was in a great mood, performance meter topped out & finished her work day. Only, instead of the promotion she was due, she got a pitiful raise & was put on call for the evening. The frequency that this happens in the medical career infuriates me. Is it just that the game has a sim lined up for on call work and cannot have them on call if they have just been promoted? What gives?!

Anyway, vitriol, profanity &n rage quitting ensued. I'd only recently saved the game so why the hell not. Fucking fuckity fuck fuck, I had that bitch up all frigging night working from home to prepare for that freaking promotion, and she's only 2 from completing her frigging LTW! I wouldn't care so much if I hadn't just spent hours of my time on it & she wasn't about to have another two frigging days off after a couple of back-to-back pregnancies. Fucking dick move, game.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Poll about Aging: what settings are you using in your game? on: 2012 June 27, 12:41:24
I was using rule of 6, but found that adults kept breeding up until the day they eldered up, leading to the situation of grandkids having babies at the same time as their grandparents. Also the teen lifespan was ridiculously short, leaving them unable to achieve any game fun besides having a mood swing.

YMMV of course, but I found lopping off the majority of the adulthood stage & stitching it onto young adulthood instead minus a week that went directly to teens worked out well for me.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Poll about Aging: what settings are you using in your game? on: 2012 June 27, 01:55:13
Customised lifespan with extra-long teen & extra short adult stage that balances out to a normal lifespan. Did have it set to mirror reality somewhat but found the teen stage too short and the adult/youngadult combo insanely long. Plus all those grandparents (and great grandparents) having babies at the same time as their children & grandchildren was driving me nuts so I dropped the adult stage back to a week and set my hacks up so that there's no tfb close to elderhood and that pretty much squashed the issue entirely.

Would it be possible to turn scold into a user-interaction? Preferably to replace the autonomous version if possible.

Witches (old & young alike) know that long pig isn't worth the bother of putting up with mewling brats.

The advice was useful. After much digging around in the bowels of the registry, I was able to eliminate the problem. Insert appreciative bleating.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / I done fucked up. on: 2012 April 28, 16:13:01
I had to do the uninstall/reinstall dance for reasons pertaining to a bad framework setup I was only recently aware of.

So about 4 hours into it, I'm exhausted & I accidentally gave the ok for EA to install origin on the lappy. I uninstalled it without any problem, however, I am unable to either install OR uninstall the stuff pack that I was installing at the time of this stuff-up. Despite having apparently successfully uninstalled it on several occassions, it seems to return from the bowels of my lappy to infuriate me.

The stuff pack (master suite stuff) was an impulse buy I have rapidly come to regret.

Is there any way to extract myself from this problem without an expensive visit to the nice people who sold me my lappy to return it to factory settings?

Still failing to see the appeal of the nassel bra.

OMG! Nipple flowers! I never thought I'd see them outside of a bad BD costume!

Well colour me squee-ed, if there's a Bella, an Eman or a Madam Abla (ie: some awesome to make up for the horrors of costuming) in there I think I might just change my mind about the stuff pack and get it after all.

Holy hell. You mean it will be WORSE if I do what it wants me to do?!
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lights! Camera! Inaction! SHOWTIME! on: 2012 March 24, 23:43:16
Granted, and I can accept a certain level of ep-related wishes. It's just that the current status quo exceeds that level by a long shot. None of the other eps combined come close to the epic level of SHT-related wish spam in my game.

I'm not expecting a fix for it (although if it did happen I would grab it with both hands) I'm just bitching about it because this is the MATY bitch about SHT thread.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lights! Camera! Inaction! SHOWTIME! on: 2012 March 24, 13:28:06
Is anyone else having an excessive amount of ep-related wish spam?

I keep getting sims with no ep-related traits or ltw rolling up wishes to host some sort of act. The want to hit the karaoke bar I can handle. The want to host stuff 4 & 5 times a day at the cost of trait & ltw-related wishes is not so great.
42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2012 March 18, 01:58:08
I'd love to see better bed selection for the bedtime story option. I am stick of my sims choosing random beds for their "stories". Kids should be read to in their own beds so they can fall asleep in their own beds!

QFT.

Oh, and so much THIS!
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hostile Play Environment on: 2012 March 13, 07:34:11
I have to take umbrage with the OP. This forum isn't a hostile play environment, it's an openly hostile forum.

Now the game, that I'll agree, is a hostile play environment at times. Particularly the constant borkage due to patches & the persistent sound issues. Those definitely make for a hostile play environment.

But the forum?

I don't know about anyone else here, but I don't play on the forum. I mostly read for mod updates & whargarble about patches, eps & sps. Occassionally I make a mod request or error report and even more occassionally I get sporked. But that's what we do here. That is, when we're not playing sims.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 has stopped working - Windows or computer problem? on: 2012 January 25, 09:28:41
I've found that turning off the internet connection from the gaming computer has resolved both my crashing issues and my lagging issues. I also don't have the featured items folder repopulating itself any longer. YMMV.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims 3 Pets- Whats borked thread on: 2012 January 18, 13:19:51
Less than three! I wish I'd known about godmode sooner.
46  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 December 14, 07:51:38
AFAIK, there are many mods that stop the carpool & buses from coming in the first place, none that alter the non-clickability of the queued 'get on bus' that can only be unqueued by resetting the sim in question.

Which begs the question - why the hell have that freaking want if you can't fulfil it unless you go into cheat mode to do so?
47  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2011 December 13, 11:31:28
Is the inability to cancel school from a sim's queue a feature because it's only come up for me since I installed the new awesome?

I'd really like to be able to fulfill a sim's want to skip school without having to reset them in order to do it.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Asylum Challenge with Floopy tweaks on: 2011 December 10, 14:30:23
I've been playing the asylum challenge for sims 3 and found it a bit broken. So I played with the rules a bit & made them both a bit simpler and more challenging.

Asylum Challenge

Objective

Your sim has been committed to a rundown asylum. Unlike the other inmates, your sim is given certain privileges in exchange for certain responsibilities. Privileges include holding down a job and leaving the lot for errands. Responsibilities include guarding the welfare of the other residents.

Stuff

No item may cost more than $500.

1 toilet, 1 sink, 1 bath/shower.
Any number of skill-building objects, but limited to one of each type.
One electronic entertainment item.
No emergency appliances
One of each kitchen appliance
5 pieces of sleeping furniture
6 pieces of sitting furniture (including 1 piece of napping furniture)

Sims

Sims must be young adults. Sims should be unrelated.

Each sim must randomly select one of the following "madness" traits:
*insane
*neurotic
*kleptomaniac
*hotheaded
*inappropriate
*childish
*absent-minded
*technophobe
*hydrophobic
*never nude

The following traits are prohibited:
*brave
*daredevil
*natural cook
*unlucky

Gameplay

Once you have moved your household into a suitable set-up lot, reduce the family funds to $100. You can do this by releasing fish into a pond or by buying sculptures, exiting buy mode, re-entering buy mode & deleting them until you reach the desired household funds.

Choose one sim. This sim is the only one you will control. This sim bears the responsibility of being the breadwinner for this household.

Sims may not leave the lot, with the following exceptions. The controlled sim may only leave the lot to work or to purchase groceries or books.

Items may be replaced if they are burned or stolen. Otherwise all new items must come from the sims themselves (paintings, klepto items, celebrity gifts, etc) and may cost no more than $500. Items may not be moved once a sim has successfully used the item. (moving to fix routing fail is encouraged)

Bogarting by inventory is not allowed. Bogarting by habitual use is encouraged.

If a sim dies, remove one piece of furniture. Also, you may move the grave to a more suitable location anywhere on the lot.

Scoring

+1 per skill point for any non-controlled sim.
+1 per friend any non-controlled sim has.
+1 per 1000 Lifetime Points any non-controlled sim has.
-1 per day in the Asylum.
-20 per sim death (excluding old age)
-30 per visitor death (excluding old age)
-5000 if the controlled sim dies before attaining LTW.

Unable to select 8th sim in household from premades because 'household is already full'. WTF EA? Are you aresholes insane? What if I want to use a premade? It's not like sitting there for 3 hours with the random button is going to help. Fuck you!
