1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Base Game Items in buy mode catalog after patch 1.39 on: 2012 October 20, 18:00:11
I am going to test groups of these store packs to narrow down which one causes the problem. I would assume none of you are willing to provide support to someone who does things differently.... should I even bother to report back after testing? lol.

::slams head on desk::

Ok I get that there is another way to do it...but it doesnt make it the ONLY way. This way Ive explained is easiest, most efficient and most accomodating to what I'm trying to do with the game. I have obtained most of my games via Games4theWorld without issue - why would I not also use their fix. May I ask how any of you come by your games?

I have attempted using the No-CD mods before (both with and without Games4theWorld versions) they just dont work as well as this method. I get many many errors with it and not only that but my game used to crash to windows ALOT using the mod method to override the CD -- dont know why. With the method I use everything has been solid up till now crashing is mimimized greatly, and no error messages. I dont understand how it's outdated as a method seeing as its being updated constantly the last time being eartlier this month!? Also ITS MORE FUCKING EFFICIENT than what you propose because it eliminates several steps and precautions I would have to take if I were using the other method (i.e. Using mods to bypass the cd check). Maybe its not in-style in this little click but it has its benefits: firstly, it stops the invalid file error that prevents the game from taking an update in the first place...Secondly once the image file is in place It also stops the message about third party mods...(obv cause its not a mod) and lets the game boot preventing several other issues and glitches. Not only that but the game is way more stable using this method than any other that I have used. It crashes alot less and there are barely any conflicts.

Now every one of you has assumed the problem rose from the way I patched, and the fact that I use cracks but I have confirmed that the problem is not stemming from this. I ran the game vanilla this morning and the football is there. Then I Ran with just the Mods/Overrides folder (in which only essential mods such as Twalan mods and Camera/Lighting Mods). Everything is still fine and the football still shows up. Then added back all my CC Magic Sims3packs. The football is gone again. So Just as I originally speculated...the problem is from a decrapped store pack, it would seem. Since I ONLY have decrapped sims3store stuff downloaded from the thread on MATY. My only .package files are default skin by Newsea, Escands default eyes, some Twalan mods (which are all up to date for the 1.39 patch), and camera fixes. Thats it.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Base Game Items in buy mode catalog after patch 1.39 on: 2012 October 20, 04:16:58
it probably stems from not knowing what you're putting in your own game.

I know what I am putting in the game not everyone is a fucktart you know.  Wink

what is this thing, and what is it supposed to do?

If you don't know thats different, let me enlighten you. You followed which link? There were a few different ones. The first one is for EA's Super Patcher which was released to assist people having problems using the launcher / origin to install patches. And those for whom the manual incremental patch also fails. For example, It bypasses the "Invalid File Found", when attempting to patch.

The second link - which is the one I think you are referring to, is Games for the World's Ultimate Fix. Games for the World is a distributor of torrent versions of the expansions and store stuff. What you see there is not a mod or a tool or a program but rather a "NO-CD" image the overwrites the game's image file (thats the bootable EXE file) and DLL and host files with cracked ones so that the launcher does not prompt you for a disc during start up. Because the EA patches constantly make changes to the image file (the bootable EXE) and each new patch comes with new security features that turn this prompt back on (so to speak) someone with a cracked game has to keep re-downloading the corresponding Ultimate Fix. from this site. :-) By the way this ultimate fix is also supposed to cure the "Network Error" problem and prevent that message from harassing you. Make sense? The post is so sketchy because...well its a crack!

Now... i have been using this method for the last 9 months or so, every expansion pack and it works for me. I havent had a problem till now. So I would think its the new patch. Seeing as the Super Fix is merely an image file that simply overwrites the need for a CD, and not a configuration or the game itself... I dont really know how it could be the problem.

The post i referenced from the Sims 3 Forum in which the girl reported missing a bunch of base games stoves makes me think its patch related too ----or something to do with a Twallan mod because she states she has that installed.

Now that we got that out of the way.......... Ill run the game vanilla tonight and report back.
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Missing Base Game Items in buy mode catalog after patch 1.39 on: 2012 October 20, 01:09:20
I have noticed after I patched the game today that some base game items are missing, not just from lots but also from the catalog itself.

Let me retrace the steps I took: I took my My Documents/The Sims 3 Folder and renamed it "The Sims 3 Old". Then booted the game and allowed the game to regenerate this folder. Then I patched using the super patch (since the launcher gave me an invalid file error) downloaded from this post: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/175477.page. Then because I have warez versions of certain games, I used the games for the world Ultimate Fix Here: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems.
(Which Ive used for previous patches to solve the "Network Error Issue"). I redownloaded my mods such as NRAAS making sure all were up to date. I also decrapped my store stuff and reinstalled it via CC Magic.

Everything seemed fine until I went to play a family of athletic sims. I got the "Missing Object" message upon opening the lot, but figured I had just forgot to reinstall some store stuff after the patch. But when I went to have my sim play a game of football the football was missing from the lot. I went to Buy Mode to buy a new one and the item is simply no longer in the catalog. I generated a brand new town and opened buy mode in the new town and its also not in the buy mode catalog!? It had once appeared in the catalog under Entertainment/ Sports, also could be found under Outdoor/Outdoor Entertainment. Now its not there at all. My new store stuff is though....so I have confirmed that its not a CC folder/subfolder problem..

I considered the possibility the football may have been a store item, or from an expansion...but I went browsing around on the internet and found that its a base game object according to Carls Sims 3 Guide. That was pretty shocking. So far this is the only item I can remember missing but Im sure there are more. Anyone having this issue? Anyone know what to do about it?

I searched a long time last night for specifically problems with the football object - no luck. Then for people experiencing problems seeing base-game objects in the buy mode catalog. This was the only post I could find, where someone couldn't see base game objects and its from July and its from the Sims 3 forum (ugh): http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/563400.page

Any ideas? This is all under the assumption that the football is in fact base game -- Can anyone actually confirm for me? If its not, let me know its provenance (expansion/store set) so I can go trace it. If it is from the base game like i suspect, then i have no idea why this is happening.

My first inkling of a thought was I remember back using sims 2, sometimes custom objects could overwrite eachother if they didnt have unique GUIDs. The thought breifly crossed my mind that some of the decrapped store stuff overwrote something but then I considered the thought rediculous....right?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How can I make the Sims 3 recognize installed expansion packs? on: 2012 October 20, 00:21:51
Hi Viewer Are you still having trouble installing pets?

I have never attempted using steam for the Sims (for Sid Meier's Civilization yes sir). So I dont know how far I can help you on this matter but I have a few ideas because Ive used Origin. I do know that Origin installed games do not go into Program Files/Electronic Arts like the Hard-Cd games, or cracked versions they rather go into the origin folder. I think you were spot-on if this is what you meant when you said something about Origin using other means. I would think that if you had games that were installed via Steam it would go in a steam folder?? ..

So this is what I think: If you had steam versions, or if you had HARD CD version, and attempted to install via Origin the installation program might not be finding the original game because it may be defaulting to its own Origin Directory. I think you said that you directed it to the right directory though during the installation prompts.

If not my second thought is:  when you attempt to play the game you said it reverts to late night? Well you might be clicking on an old desktop icon from your previous install. Oddly enough Ive had it happen that Ive clicked an old icon and the game does the loading screen for whatever icon (Late night in this case) but once the game boots the expansion is there.

Boot up the game and see if the world called Appaloosa plains is in the choices for worlds. If so pets is installed you just need to make a desktop icon for it -- OR:

If you installed the game via origin and it sucessfully completed? Then theoretically you should be able to see the game in your games library in the Origin program, and should be able to click play from there. (If you have cracked games this might cause an issue but open origin and open the games library and see if its listed there that way we know its sucessfully installed. We can fix the cracks later).

Another option: Also could try looking in Program Files/Origin (I think) and browse around for installed games et cetera. Locate the exe file and try clicking it from that directory.

If all that fails....you need to consider sticking to one method of installing games. Ive sucessfully used a combination of hard CD games, origin and 2 cracks. But i would think using origin and steam would be a problem if my above suggestions do not work. Let me know!
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TS3 STORE Working Inventory List on: 2012 January 12, 14:39:14
Thanks Morrig yeah I caught that typo yesterday, actually there was a lot of stuff I missed apparently. And Yes I did catch that website too, but it is also missing a thing or two.

I'm working on an update...Im going to change the way it looks alittle bit perhaps  sort it differently. I'm also in the process of adding release dates and URLs to the captured information. I've been using EA's News Archive to pinpoint release dates, and also finds websites...since they dont effing list the dates anywhere. But alot of stuff was never reported in the news. Nonetheless...I'd say the amount of things I found in the last few days since my initial excel file has like doubled.

I've also been trying to collect the info on sim point bundles. I did not ever take up those (rip)offers....the "finds" sites are helping to figure out what the special gifts were.
Sim Point Bundles and other Time-Sensitive Rewards/Incentives get removed from the Store catalog after a while. They are no longer accessable. However EA doesn't always completely erase the URL's Ive been able to locate a few of them so far but it's alot of work tracking them down because you must know the exact name of the item in question. Many of them are on that simalouge library link but a handful are not.

Anyway there will be an updated version soon that's alot cleaner and includes more info.

Edit: Updated now.

8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / TS3 STORE Working Inventory List [UPDATE 2012-Jan-23] on: 2012 January 10, 05:55:23
Working Inventory List of all EA Store Content
Updated: 2012-Jan-23 REDOWNLOAD!
--------------------------------------
New Features as of 2012-Jan-23:
  • Completely reorganized.
  • Typos and errors fixed.
  • Updated with all known store items up to 23 January 2012.
  • Number of items reported has nearly tripled, and sets have been seperated from premium/promo items. To update I compared my information with that of the Sims3 News Archive and the Simalogue (http://www.thesimalogue.com/the-sims-3-store-catalogue.html) [thanks neko for the tip].
  • Excel File now includes 3 sheets: List of Sets, Promo-Premium (Limited Time Stuff), and Compilation Contents.
  • Captured information about each file now includes the date it was posted on the store, URLs, and what exactly the files contain. Also the new sheet for promo items records info on the promo's themselves.

Info:
So the TS3 STORE catalog is an ever-changing terribly unorganized shit storm. A couple months ago I created an excel file for my personal use in an attempt to begin keeping track of what I had and what I needed. There have been many attempts to do this, but I have attempted to compose a more complete file that captures information about the items in a grid format for comparison. Right now it is offered as an excel file, when/if I get the chutzpah one day it may be on html Lips sealed

Updated!Sheet One: Sets
I have tried to catalog all of the content in Sets...Individual Pieces are not catalogued unless they were premium items or simpoint items. Otherwise its going to be a nightmere to compile Fuck that.

  • Set Name: The Set's name in the catalog.
  • Set Category:How EA categorizes it's sets on the store website (Fantasy, Speed, Classic....etc)
  • Sub-Sets: The various parts of the Set (Example: Bayside Set has Bayside Bath, Bayside Kitchen....et cetera)
  • NEW!CAS: Checked if Set contains Clothing/Hair. Object: Checked if Set contains object/ BuildChecked if has build items. Lot:if has lot.
  • NEW!Part of Compilation: If the Set is found in compilation pack(s) they are listed here.
  • NEW!Free: Self-explanatory.
  • FileName: Have you noticed some of the filenames have nothing to do with the set's name in the catalog making it impossible to find in your downloads folder? (Example: "Indulgent Living" Set has a filename of "Boudoir", WTF?) So If the Set has a weird filename that I was able to match it to, I recorded it. Update: Mostly all filenames recorded now.
  • NEW!Date: The date the set turned up on the store. (estimated, based on sims3store news archive).
  • NEW!URL: URL is only included if the item is not searchable using the search feature or by browsing the catalog categories.

NEW!Sheet Two: Promo-Premium
This list contains individual items that were either premium or only available for a limited time or as a result of doing something like registering your games, buying simpoints, posting on Facefuck, drinking dr. pepper, et cetera. Normally Simpoint, Promos and donation items are pulled from the store after their promotion period ends but there are some exceptions where it seems EA forgot to block access to them. If that's the case I've included the URLs.

  • Type: Method by which the limited time/promo item was obtained (SimPoint, Promo, RegGift.... et cetera)
  • Category: The specific promotion... (Example: The game for RegGift, Promo Brand: Dr. Pepper, T-Mobile..et cetera)
  • Item(s): The Item Names in the Catalog.
  • CAS: Checked if contains Clothing/Hair. Object: Checked if Set contains object/ BuildChecked if has build items. Lot:if has lot.
  • Free: Checked if free to download. "R"- Free but must register game, refer to Category for which game.  "PO" - only available thru a pre-order. "PR"- Free thru a promo, refer to Category for which promo.  "I"-Incentive - Refer to Category for the type of incentive.
  • Available: Checked if the item can still be located easily on the store via search or categories. "Link" - If the item not easily found on the store, then refer to URL field. "Repacked" - if the item has been repacked in a more recent file, refer to filename and/or URL to find out which one.
  • FileName: Self-explanatory.
  • Date: The date the set turned up on the store. (estimated, based on sims3store news archive).
  • URL: URL only included if the item is still available.

OLD!Sheet Three: Compilation Contents

  • Name: Compilation Set's Name.
  • Clothing: The clothing sub-set(s) for specified Set or Compilation. If none left blank.
  • Objects: The objects sub-set(s) for specified Set or Compilation. If none left blank.
  • Objects 2: More space for same as above.
  • Build: The build sub-set(s) for specified Set or Compilation. If none left blank.
  • Lots: If a lot or Rabbithole is included the Set's name is simply repeated here.

Notes:
  • The 3rd Sheet, Compilation Contents is not really updated as far as it's organizational layout. Nonetheless its pretty accurate up to December 2011.
  • Updates: I'm pretty sure I got most of the items recorded, some info such as filenames is missing in some cases. Its a very simple working list and if anyone can help fill in missing info feel free. Going foward I will try to update it as I can...perhaps monthly? but no promises I work 2 jobs and am trying (to no avail) to write a dissertation.  Lips sealed  Yikes.

OK. It's up to date as of 23, January 2012. Redownload- (Old File: Yesterdame_Sims3StoreInvList1.rar)
Enjoy. Give me feedback constructive criticism......i hope someone finds a use for this.  Grin
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: decrapped Sims3pack fails after patch - any work around beside .packages? on: 2012 January 09, 22:10:21
Nope, but to avoid the issue entirely you can use CCmagic. Doesn't work with counters, the textures still screw up. Any counter installed in a way other then the Launcher seems to screw up.

you are doomed to fucked up counters, you've probably had fucked up counters this entire time and never realized it,

Okay with the counters yes they have been fucked up the whole time, as in not connecting to eachother in corners...Yes I know about that problem.....I thought you meant the textures in general. Sorry.

As for CCmagic, I was using the search feature on MTS. Thanks guys Ill test when i get home from work.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: decrapped Sims3pack fails after patch - any work around beside .packages? on: 2012 January 09, 17:43:48
Wait, I can't even find this program..that isn't the TSR one that I've heard warnings about is it? I've googled this and searched MATY and MTS ...... too many results come up about the magic feature or magic book item in the game.  Undecided how come I never heard of this tool? Link please?
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: decrapped Sims3pack fails after patch - any work around beside .packages? on: 2012 January 09, 17:23:51
Ok, so usually I just take the entire sets offered on Knightguy's thread... Does it behave ok with sets? and if so will it still mistreat the counters if they are contained in a set?

thanks
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: decrapped Sims3pack fails after patch - any work around beside .packages? on: 2012 January 09, 01:36:23
i figured that much when i didnt find any posts about it....arrgh im out of ideas on how exactly to narrow down whats blocking it in my config. Anyone else got this prob?
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / decrapped Sims3pack fails after patch - any work around beside .packages? on: 2012 January 09, 00:14:43
Hi,

I know this may have been asked in the last month on the forum but after an hour of reading about similar CC problems i've not yet found an answer that specifically addresses these concerns. My already installed CC seems to be ok, its the new stuff i've got issue with. Sorry ahead if my post is hard to follow, bear with me.

I have basically everything from Knightguy's Store thread from 1st post thru Oct 2011, never had issues (that I was not able to solve myself) installing these decrappified sims3pack files via launcher. I never usually patch the games unless I HAVE to and usually not through the "official way". *cough*. Ahem anyway, I had the launcher open on my computer and I stepped out of the room...come back and my computer-illiterate-boyfriend was checking his email. Suffice it to say the latest Pets patch 1.29 is now installed on my computer unintentionally...(i could kill him!)whatever, now I'm having trouble getting ANY new sims3packs installed (EA Store, decrapped store, & non-EA CC)

So I just tried installing newer store stuff (from that post) that  I've decrapped and the launcher lies saying "sucess" or sometimes "already installed".  I tried non-EA sims3packs example: ATS's New Year Sets and also jomsims(at TSR, yes i know TSR is ALWAYS problematic) and Melinda's shopping break. All sims3packs wont install, tried de-crapping, no luck. I know how to turn sims3packs into .packages using the Delpy tool. But I have so many friggin packages and besides I usually like to keep the store stuff as sims3pack files to seperate it from CC (which I almost always convert to .packages).

---HOWEVER i sucked it up and did a test with ATS, jomsims, and Melinda sims3packs:
results: The dashboard picked every single one of ATS files up as conflicting with eachother  I had to nuke them. as for the jomsims stuff, game ran slow prockmon picked up like 288Million opens for each one..WTF!? The converted Melinda's stuff didn't cause any problems in procmon, delphy, or dashboard so far, but have not actually tested in live mode yet.
--------------------------ARGH!
I want to know if theres a way to get my decrapped Sims3pack Store stuff (and any other sims3packs) installed without totally downgrading the patch, or doing a fresh install (i dread it!). As i said, I have like practically all the nabbed stuff from Knightguy's thread up to October 2011. I thoroughly read the other 5 recent posts regarding this effing patch, it appears people are having animation problems with existing CC and store stuff. I have not actually checked in-depth yet...I can live with some glitching my main concern is getting it installed at this point. I have not yet seen posts addressing that specifically.

Other things I noticed....my previous sims3store packs from a long time ago, example lorianda sims3packs are shopping up in the buy mode catalogue with the "store" icon (a blue shopping bag) whats up with that? Was it always like that?

Yeah sorry this is so effing long and if its been answered already simply link me. Thanks.
