Whenever I click on the THUM resource no image shows up. If I double click a resource details box pops up, but still no image. I'm using s3pe. Do I have to turn on something in the settings to view the THUM resource images?

You should see a line at the bottom of S3PE with some options. For Preview: choose Value. You can also see the resource names by ticking Names.

Once I convert a sims3pack into individual package files, is there a program I can use that will show me what item each package file is?

S3PE or postal, or some other package editor. Open it and if the names of various resources in the package don't give it away you can check the THUM resource.

On another note, has anyone seen a Pixie or Firefly show from the Tree of Prosperity? There's tuning for it in the XML, but even when I set the chance to 100, I don't a see any shows at all. Another case of borked animations?

Edit: I was going through the resources again, and came to the conclusion that EA must have decided to ditch the pixies and fireflies.

I would think so if it was just mine. I have a little bit of CC. The only thing my girlfriend has is,

awesome.package
aweconf.package.

So whats to conflict? We both have every Sims3 expansion and Stuff pack game.

You need to make sure you are patched to 1.29. If you install Master Suite Stuff without patching your patch level is something like 1.28. I can't remember the exact number, but it's not 1.29. So, check your patch level. Also, my sims skill just fine with AM installed.

Clean Slate does remove old romantic interests. If you dropoldloves to remove them, it will affect your reputation. The reputation system is so unbelievably stupid.
255  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Weird error after installing AM. on: 2012 February 11, 10:08:21
This is an extremely common Mac error. There are threads all over the Official forums and on MTS about it. Try re-naming your The Sims 3 folder to something else and starting a completely fresh game. Otherwise, Google might help. That's all I know on the subject because I don't have a Mac and have never experienced the problem.

I was just curious how you get the skydiving venue from the ford thrill car. I can't seem to even find the thing no matter how many times I download the thing.

Are you looking in community objects on a community lot?

I made some different flavors for the Rock Climbing Wall mod. "Slower" energy decay remains the same as previously posted, at -20/hr. "Base Game" energy decay means energy will decay at the same rate as when sims work out, which is -10/hr. There are also "Don't Break a Sweat" versions which prevents hygiene decay, and versions which allow children to use the rock climbing wall. Children will stretch when using the wall. Slower hygiene decay is at -14.76/hr. Note that un-modded hygiene decay is the same as base game work out hygiene decay when not using "Don't break a sweat."

File names should be self explanatory. Mouse over the icon left of the file name to see the full file name. http://www.mediafire.com/?f9f4126wse39d

Edit: Added a text file with the descriptions for each version

It looks to me that the Infinite Flow HT uses the wrong animation because it's there, it just doesn't match the tub. What's wrong with the casino HT? And I doubt the torches are supposed to light up since other lights are present.

The casino hot tub is also using the wrong animation. If you look closely, you will barely be able to see some water "flowing" at the base of the wall. There is a slit for the for water, however, between the King and Queen.

Edit:
I found that the Rock Climbing Wall decayed energy way too quickly for my taste. EA had it set to -50/hr. I set it to -10, which is a bit faster than when working out with the exercise machine.

Edit: Updated file

A -30 Energy drop every time you use the cauldron?  Seriously, EA?

I thought that was a little much too, considering my sims can break space rocks all day long.

Hi,

I really want to download this Rock Wall : http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15100.msg586533.html#msg586533

But, the problem is that I can't install this sims3pack file (I just can install package files), My launcher bug with them, So is possible to post the file in package format ??

Thanks =)

It's extremely easy to extract the .package file from a sims3pack. Just google it.

Does anyone know if there's a mod that fixes the broken animations for the Infinite Flow Hot Tub (from December 2011 compilation) and/or the King and Queen of Steam (Las Vegas Set)?

I don't know if anyone's interested, but someone made a mod to stop the cauldron from dropping your sim's energy when conjuring: http://scarletsims-creations.blogspot.com/2012/01/cauldron-no-energy-decay.html

You might be interested in this: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/s3s-browser/installation-startup

It's a small program which will read the sims3packs and packages you have stored somewhere (your Downloads folder, your back up drive, wherever) and use that to determine which store items you have.

I've never experienced crashes due to 3booter/FPS Limiter with Windows 7 64-bit (nor with XP, nor that matter). In fact, every time I had random crashes, it was a bad piece of CC.

I've used the _RIG fix tool on these packages just to be sure, but does anyone know if that is really necessary?
Gosh, the set was released waaay after the 1.29 patch! Of course you don't need to Rigfix it!

Sorry, I was not clear enough. I'm not using _RIG fix on the set, which obviously doesn't need it. But the first fix provided by kissingtoast had some _RIGs from the Spellbook and FOY in it . The newer packages don't though, so nevermind. Of course I don't need to rig fix those. I should have looked at those as well, my mistake.
267  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 January 30, 08:58:19
With this file, the interactions for the spell book and fountain of youth are blank for me. But everything else works fine. I'm using de-crapped sims3packs.

I had this problem early on, when trying to figure out the spoon with the cauldron. I know it's a pain in the ass but if you uninstall the objects that have missing strings via the launcher then reinstall them it fixes that. I'm going to add the link to the previous version if you want to be lazy about it.

You didn't have to do that, but it was very accommodating of you. One thing, I've used the _RIG fix tool on these packages just to be sure, but does anyone know if that is really necessary?
268  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 January 29, 15:14:14
Here is another fix, hopefully the final product. This SHOULD work for sim3pack, decrapped sim3pack, and packaged versions of all of the items.

The thing I need tested with this one is whether or not the spell book and fountain of youth not only show up in game but both animate correctly, ghosts when learning a spell and waterfall and sparkles in the FOY. Testing of course from someone not using decrapped sim3packs.

There's been some talk on a German Sims 3 forum recently that using FPS Limiter with a DirectX 11 graphics card can lead to the card burning out. The thread is here: http://www.simforum.de/showthread.php?t=184232 but it's obviously in German. In short, it seems like the program is forcing backward compatibility with with DirectX8 which can lead to card burn out. I admit, I don't understand all of it. Perhaps someone smarter than I will find that it's just a bunch of hullabaloo over nothing, or maybe it's useful information for people with DirectX 11 cards.

I'll try it out & report if my spellbook has it's animations.  I'm certain my fountain has been working like it should and the ladle showed up on the cauldron & the voodoo doll I think was working properly.  I know I saw the needle.

Edit:  This is weird.  I put your fix in, went to a house that already had the spellbook on the lot and the animations showed up, but, I noticed it was gone from buy mode (it's supposed to be in miscellaneous entertainment).  I know it was there before.  Weird.

This is happening to you because you're using a legit copy of the book. The "fix" includes non decrapped package versions of the SB(what you have) and FOY. To avoid doubles in the catalogue I set them to not show up. I'll make a version that they show up in later today, or you can do so yourself with S3PE, it only takes a second. You should be able to fix it by deleting the OBJD file for the spell book, there's only two of those in the package so it's easy to find, one's for the FOY one's for the SB.

OK. Figured it out, I think. This file contains the old SB and FOY fix, which is really just the objects as packages with a merged BUFF file. But, I've added my BUFF file and my spoon and needle to it as well. This Should work. All you need is this file and the objects installed. Fingers crossed.

So, just to clarify:  With the current fix, we need to have the Magic objects installed, but not the spellbook or fountain?

You need them all installed aside from the "fix" as decrapped sim3packs, I only say that because that's how I have it installed so that's the only way I can say for sure that it works. As for the enchant thing, the only thing I've noticed it do is add the flying ghost effect to the other objects. No clue as to whether it actually does anything though.

Yes, everything needs to be installed as de-crapped sims3packs. I thought I'd just confirm because I did try a couple other methods. I tried at first with crapified packages, but it didn't work (I expected as much but the lazy in me was hoping for the impossible). I had the spell book and FOY installed as a package file, with the fixes, which I also had to take out. Once everything was in my game with de-crapped sims3packs, it worked perfectly.

Looks like there's going to be a voodoo doll, cow plant, and rock-climbing wall coming out in January. At least, that's what I'm gathering from the Facebook page. There's another "sneak peak" on day 10, but I can't really figure out what it's supposed to be.

A voodoo doll and a cauldron sound like they'd be in a "magic" pack if you ask me. The cow plant may also be involved.

Day 10 Sneak Peek is about a Bon Voyage compilation coming to the store. Looks like it will also come with a lot.

Cow Plant Sneak Peek: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/472885.page
Bon Voyage Sneak Peek: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/474605.page

Rock Climbing Wall announcement: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/473603.page

The Magic Cauldron has not been explicitly announced/confirmed by EA except in the patch notes for 1.29, as far as I know.

You are on some serious drugs, then, because there is NOTHING like that on the page, only some splash screen.

Pescado, do you have a facebook account or are you logged in to your facebook account? You will not be able to see the calendar if not. Also, you might have to "Like" The Sims 3 facebook page to see the app.

WCIF a ceiling fan? Is it part of the Environment pack or something else?

There's a "ceiling fan" in the store from Island Villa, but it's just a ceiling light. There are two ceiling fans on MTS. One is from cmomoney, and it's animated. The other is a light, like the one from Island Villa. There could be more floating around, but those are three I know of off the top of my head.

When I try to install the gym and the salon, nothing happens, but the nightclubs and park installed normally...I will load up the game soon and see how they are.  Thank you Brownlustgirl for the link... Grin

The Salon sims3pack contains a TSR pattern and is also broken, so you need to extract the .package files. The lot is called: 0x711079070393708846bbd804c442833d.package
The pattern is called: 0x5aad1eae6e1d03a3f6309c3c42d5f0cb.package

Put the lot .package file in your Library and it will work. If you're having trouble with the gym then do the same for that sims3pack.

EDIT: the lots from the EA Poland site are NOT made by EA apparently: http://simsvip.com/?p=3768&cpage=1#comment-47654
275  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 November 17, 18:36:31
The Salon lot comes with a pattern from TSR attached, for some strange reason. The lot is also wrongly categorized as a door (how in the...?). You can make it work by extracting the .package file and putting it into the Library folder. Whether to keep the crappy TSR pattern is a personal choice, I suppose.
