I just tried to install the Ultimate Stage Venue from the other thread, but even after dragging it onto s3rc (and then decrapify) the venue shows up without a shell, so all I'm looking at is a black box. Thre was also issues with the last EP's Pet Shop, and I gave up on that. Katy Perry set looks to have installed ok though. Any ideas?
Do not decrapify. Install them as package files.

Finally a proper answer, thank you. So they use their own tool, interesting. I guess only Pescado could know whether it's a rip-off of his tool or not. And also it's interesting that the other 3 files cannot be opened while the Katy Perry one can. I guess it's either their tool behaves inconsistently or they really decrapified that one and only that one for some reason.
Sorry, I was a little unclear about that. I don't believe the other 3 sims3packs posted were run through a de-crapify program at all. I'm just not sure if they would re-upload that file with an already de-crapified version in it. Actually, I haven't used 4shared, so I don't know if it's possible to upload a new version of a file and keep the same url. If it's not, then my concern is unwarranted.

Does this mean the other files by this same person posted in the downloads thread has already been decrapped too? The Showtime bonuses were untouched when I downloaded them. However, they are posted by thesimstg.com, and I have no idea if they would change their files to upload a de-crapified version for people who complain. There's another factor to consider here: thesimstg.com apparently has "their own" de-crapifier. I have no idea whether they ripped off Pescado's tool or wrote their own. The site is in Portuguese and I used Google Translate to translate it. Here is their Unblock program, which does have English instructions: http://www.thesimstg.com/2010/05/instalando-sims3pack-protegidos-apos.html Since they are using their own "unblock" program, I suppose the sims3packs are not actually not de-crapified, but rather unblocked, which I say to make a distinction between Pescado's tool and theirs. I don't trust their tool because I don't know what it does, or if it has bugs, and I'm too lazy to test it when de-crapify and s3rc work fine for me. To be sure that I know what I put in my game, when a person I don't trust/am not acquainted with posts something, I extract the packages and see if I can open them. This way I at least know whether a sims3pack is untouched or not.

It's been common knowledge for a while now that the Simport rewards are in the game. You won't have to download them and you won't find them in buydebug. Modders will be able to unlock them just like they do with other "hidden" objects in the game.
Although you need to connect to get the achievement badge on your MyPage, the progress of the achievement is tracked in-game even when you play offline. As soon as you connect to the internet, you'll be rewarded and it'll get posted on your wall. There's no way to prevent this from happening and all you can do is delete the posts afterwards.
I see, thank you for clarifying that. I have not been interested in Showtime whatsoever and have not bothered to follow any information about it, as you can clearly see by my total lack of common knowledge.

The chieves add nothing of value to the game except meaningless grinding, like Memories added nothing worthwhile. Probably Simport will be useless, and all the 'unlockables' will be able to be activated via a mod.
As far as I can tell, you must be online and logged in to the sims 3 site in order to unlock achievements. This leads me to believe that the rewards will be downloaded the same way memories rewards were downloaded, which is pretty crappy. I have no desire to grind crappy achievements nor would I wish it upon someone else.

Are you trying to open the new sims3pack with custard? Because you can't do that. You might want to read through the custard thread at MTS or take a look at the last page.
Were you asking me? What I want to do is only use part of a compilation, I don't want all the stuff inside the Sims3Pack. Sorry, I was asking socurious. However, you can take those package files from the compilation, find the objects you want and then merge those into one package. Edit: you have to run them through s3rc to merge them.

Well, my game doesn't crash at all unless I put bad CC in it. So while I'm sure EA would like to sell a crapload of Showtime EPs, I'm not inclined to believe any conspiracy. I don't know why I don't experience these crashes. My game is fully patched (all minor EP/SP patches). I haven't touched the DEP settings. There are currently 170 files in my mods folder because I've been too lazy to merge the new stuff in yet and I'm considering switching over to CC Magic. My computer is equipped with a silly amount of ram (16GB) but that much ram isn't necessary.
There is a store item which can cause the game to crash: the Cellar Arch. It was fixed quite a while ago but you could try re-downloading it. In December there were some "discretion" doors posted on MTS which were removed because they caused the game to crash.(The Discretion Doors have been fixed and re-uploaded) At some point, my game was crashing due to TFM's STFU TV mod. I don't know why that was and I don't know of anyone else who has had that problem. I removed the mod and my game stopped crashing. It could have been a conflict with some other mod but Delphy's Dashboard didn't report any conflict. Personally, I think it was a problem of Overwatch combined STFU TV. In any case, if you can find a way to reliably crash the game, then it's very likely a CC problem.
I know people don't like to be told to get a new computer, but before I built a new one the game was moody. I didn't get many CTDs then except for when Save Error 12 reared it's ugly head, but that was annoying enough.

Is AM still supposed to fix the reset bug when using the Spell Book from the store? I experienced this problem today and I am running AM. I fixed it myself by combining simon's fix with kissingtoast's MagicItems fix. Here's the script error log, if it's any use at all.

These objects have to be more than simply "unlocked" to be usable in other worlds because they are not separate objects from the Lunar Lakes package. To make them available for other worlds, they must be cloned and then unlocked. It's a really simple process, and only requires s3oc in addition to s3pe. I've gone ahead and done it, and the links are below. But I apologize, as after I finished, I realized that maybe you would have like to have done it yourself. Oh, well. You can still do it yourself and ignore my files, if you like. Because these objects are cloned, anyone can use them, whether they have installed Lunar Lakes or not. Also, it does not matter whether or not you have a de-crapped Lunar Lakes. Edit: Files have now been recompressed so that they are a bit smaller. Edit 2: All rock crystals are now available in the World Editor. Please re-download if you want this functionality. Enjoy. http://www.mediafire.com/?tq8h9ifkc71vyh4 -- all 4 rock crystals in separate package files. http://www.mediafire.com/?76gcfjxh9s8xc7i -- all 4 rock crystals in one merged package.

This isn't even entirely correct. You can completely remove this sound bug from your game with Overwatch because it turns off the eight bajillion TVs and Stereos that sims keep on all the time. Frequently using AM's fixall helps as well, but you have to remember to do it; Overwatch is automated. I recommend TFM's STFU mods because the game has too many annoying sounds, but you can clean up sound bugs without them.
