376  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Fix major scrach on nightlife cd. Any suggestions? on: 2006 September 22, 20:20:49
I'm not making a new thread for the same issue. haha. Actually, my disc isn't that far gone yet, as it still works, but I would like to forgo the hassle of putting the thing in the drive in order to play the game any time. I do have daemon tools at home, but really don't know how to use it for this purpose. Can anyone give me an easy instruction? ^_^

I had this happen to a sim that my sim brought home from work. The game said that my sim brought "so and so" home from work, but I didn't see anyone. And then later the TV turned on [by itself] and for some reason my sim wouldn't go in the bathroom... o.O I guess he was on the john. It was odd, but I eventually got him to leave by telling another guest to leave and selecting 'say goodbye to all'

ok, I'm a complete dorkfish. I keep hearing about controllers for this thing. What are they and where can I find them in the menus? I've spent the past hour looking thru the buy section in my game and can't find anything.  Huh

What causes the game to run so slow sometimes [mostly on big lots]? Is it inadequate processor, video card, or ram? My processor's a 2.6ghz, and I have 512 of ram... Can't remember what video card I have, I'll hafta fill that in later, but I bought the card because it was on the list on the Maxis site. In fact, I built this computer TO PLAY SIMS. haha. I was a month behind everyone else in playtime, but I didn't care, it was worth it. But I can't play a lot bigger than 3x2 without SIGNIFICANT slowdown.  [sorry if this doesn't belong here, but it IS a hardware thread and this is a hardware question]

I'd love to hear any feedback.

I have a weird rule in my game of only buying lots under 20,000 simoleons [starter level prices].

You don't keep a few expensive homes around for the sims who make it big?

I also have a bad habit of getting bored with families and starting new ones. haha. I'm trying to get out of that by giving myself challenges.

Is there a way to bin new hair/meshes that you've downloaded from a site? I get annoyed when I'm looking for brown hair and I have to go into the custom stuff to find the new meshes. Some folks bin their stuff right, but others I guess don't know how. I would appreciate any help. Cheesy

How much does the lot cost? I have a weird rule in my game of only buying lots under 20,000 simoleons [starter level prices]. It gets really tough to stick to that, but I don't like cheating! [at least with the money cheat]
