I don't usually download lots but this is great. Thanks for putting it out here for non-house-builders like me.

I think OpiumGirl is trying to make her households sacred, not trying to switch active households. If that's the case, then she needs to ctrl-click a non-active sim using the currently active sim. You can't ctrl-click the active sim to make it sacred. To be honest, it's easier to just type "bless" into the console box, because doing so blesses the entire active household.

So just to clarify, it's not possible to ctrl-click on the lot in the neighborhood view?  Just via ctrl-clicking on a Sim (which I already know how to do)?  I have no problem typing in "bless" but I want to make sure things are running properly and I wondered if I should have the ability to mark a household via the "edit town" view.  Thanks for the advice.

@everybodyhatesclifton,
Must you quote that entire post with images?  It would have been as simple as deleting the image links.....
54  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 22, 04:17:45
I've just started trying to use the "sacred" family option and the only way I'm able to do it is via "bless [family name]". For some reason, CTRL clicking and/or SHIFT-CTRL clicking yield no options other than the regular ol' lot information tab/popup.  Am I missing some step here?  While I have no problem typing it in manually, I still wonder why I see no option while trying to click on the lot manually.
I have testingcheatsenabled and all that but I have not noticed many changes while ctrl/shift clicking objects so I keep thinking I'm missing something...
55  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indie Stone Now with added Awesomeness on: 2009 July 21, 03:17:49
Just as an update, I was able to get my game started and running with Indiestone  by (oddly) generating a new config file for AwesomeMod.  After doing so, I have started it multiple times without a problem.
56  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indie Stone Now with added Awesomeness on: 2009 July 21, 02:53:54
As I said, I was wondering about the newest versions and I couldn't be sure by your post, though the timing seemed appropriate. Good to know.
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Indie Stone Now with added Awesomeness on: 2009 July 21, 02:37:20
I jumped when I saw this thread because I've been really wishing for a better Story Mode.  For some reason, my game absolutely will not load with the two most recent versions of awesomemod and indiestonemod (Just the mod, not the core). It does the whole "loads blue screen some" and then crashes.  The differences between this and the "usual" loading ctd are:

 1. It always crashes in the same place with Indiestone.
 2. It never, never loads....not ever. (unlike the usual ctd which eventually starts up after multiple tries)
 3. My game loads normally without Indiestone mod

Has anyone been able to use the two most recent successfully?

Thanks for the break down.  Tongue  I still don't understand what the file in question actually does.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: BREAKING NEWS: TSR INSTALLS SPYWARE! on: 2009 July 21, 01:59:58
Wtf is this?  What does that actually mean? Not cool at all.
60  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 20, 22:39:17
No, it just removes default EA blocks in place to disable it. You still need an XML mod to get it working. See the Pudding Factory for more info there's a couple of different threads about it and several options and variants there.

Got ya. I noticed there were a lot of mods for teen woohoo but I never like to use those mods because they almost always end up too bloated and/or complex for me. That may be due to the nature of the function being more difficult to implement, I'm not sure, but I always avoid those kinds of overhaul mods since they tend to come with so many problems as well.

61  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Supreme Commander on: 2009 July 20, 22:12:07
@coconnor,
So, what was the actual cause of your issues?

It seems that the laptop was just running too hot.  Can't be certain; however, issues have stopped for now at least.

Cool, what have you done to curb the heat problems?  I'm just curious. I don't own a laptop for gaming, just a MacBook for doing everyday stuff so I rarely push it enough to overheat it. Just interested in what steps you took to cool it down since it seemed to "resolve" your issue to the best of your knowledge.
62  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 July 20, 20:51:35
How extensive is the "Enable Pedophilia" option in Awesomemod?  Does this replace a "teen woohoo" mod or does it do something else?  I don't have any similar mods so far but have seen them mentioned recently.  What exactly does that option do, and is it enough to avoid needing a "teen woohoo" large scale mod?

Heehee...love the pics.  That last picture is really something...It's mostly her cheekbones and side profile that scare me. I'm usually all for a little brush-up but, this time, I think genetics may have been the way to go.  Roll Eyes

65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 20, 04:36:19
Alas, this isn't news to anyone (except you, apparently).

Yes, apparently so.
Upon having a closer look at the hair, I conclude that it is one of the most hideous styles I have yet to see.  Are there actually people who like this hair? (curious)
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New peggy hairs. They doesn't replace anything on: 2009 July 19, 23:35:41
Wow, I didn't realize how shady Peggysims was....I remember reading about something about "stolen" content which she/they manipulated and sold without any permission but, those sorts of stories were going around a lot back then.  Looks like she doesn't give a crap about anything other than the revenue she's got coming in.  Shady, shady business.  Undecided
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What, in Heaven's name, is up with traits?! Scary Pic included on: 2009 July 19, 20:20:42
You're not seriously suggesting that Peggy is one of the best, are you?

That is the funniest thing I've read in ages.
That's why I quoted the word "pro".
Personally, I don't think so but, look at how "famous" she is?  I was sort of referring to her in a "Brittany Spears is a pro" kind of way. The way where she sucks mammoth ass but the masses can't get enough.  I try to cater to everyone, see.  Roll Eyes Obviously many of you/us here thinks that Peggy is some sort of "best", otherwise she wouldn't be in such a vast business but some here are enlightened enough to hate Brittany Spears for her lack of talent and not her personality or personal choices.
Really, though, some of her stuff is more fugly than the fugliest Sim I've seen posted on MTS (and there are some very scary ones).  Grin
I can't help it, it's still funny to me

I think her taste in sims, people, and life in general has already been shown as being a bit ... funny. The world, it is so ugly!

*faints from ugly*

Cheesy Indeed, there is much to be fainted over.

A couple of those Sim models are fucking scary.... Lips sealed A couple of the hairstyles too.... Cheesy

Back from long summer vacation....
@ashkitty  Cheesy
My avatar is just a warped 3d display of insanity. I'm always pleased to know when I've grossed out someone enough to have the image banned or blocked.  I wish more people would say so.  Roll Eyes
Heh, It doesn't "do" anything, really, it just kind of a dramatic expression.  The things on the side are just regular ol' pins.  Clockwork Orange twistedness...I can never get enough of it.
The only times I've ever removed an avatar was if it was flashing crazily or erratically playing the same animation over and over again but I did have one person express their dislike of the image via pm.  This was a while ago and I just did my best to assure the person that it was not real.  And it isn't.

More thread talk is:
I've seen some real fugly Sims coming out of the works, even by the "pros" (PeggySims, anyone?) Man, some of those Sims are just plain hideous though the hair doesn't help too much.  http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15971.0.html
See?  Even the best can make a HUGE puddinglish mess.  Grin
70  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 June 25, 03:56:30
In the last thread, there were a ton of separate posts with different commands for different things that weren't always listed in the rtfm.  Is there any way people might list the ones they know?  I never got around to messing with the commands in AwesomeMod since I just stuck with playing regularly while running the mod siltently, but noticed there was a lot of talk about different ones in the last thread. I had intended on going through and making up some sort of reference however, that is no longer possible.  Maybe someone could start a thread for that, or post them here since the thread does say "helpful tips".  That would be awesome as a recap all in one place.

I think that is a good idea. If someone makes a list like that I'll try to edit the first post to include them.   I should probably also add the various mouse commands that I know of.

Thanks a lot. That will be a great help and will probably cut down on a lot of questions if there's a comprehensive list that everyone can refer to. Much appreciated what you've already accomplished here.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Poor Body Textures Outside of CAS on: 2009 June 25, 03:48:12
I'm curious, does anyone actually know what the difference between high quality and low quality lighting?  I mean, what is the difference in rendering that would cause one to be less taxing on the system than another?
The only thing I can think of is how the light reacts to objects and not the actual light and darkness.  So, if you looked around you at the room, it might not be too drastically different, but if you looked at a bunch of objects it may be quite noticeable.  Does anyone know if that's what it is, or if it's something else completely that makes the difference?

Just wanted to say that I think the kids turned out quite nice -- particularly the girl, imho.  Though as you say, the lips could stand a bit of de-puffing, that's about it.

Also, I told you so.

*gloats*
Cheesy You deserve your day of gloating, completely. I'm still in shock, though, about the outcome (that you predicted).

I wouldn't know too much about what you've said, Rockermonkey, since this is my first spawn.  From the looks of things, you may be right, though I'm sure it depends on how the parents look in the first place.  I've found that a lot of times, I make sims with similar features, for one reason or another and that definitely caused the children to come out looking similar to one another at times. Perhaps you have a basic "style" of making sims which causes this same sort of theme for the girls.  I may be wrong about that but, it seems feasible given the trend of my experience with Sims 2.

Thanks to Ashkitty for not being too mean about my mistake. Smiley I can give you a gift of a Sim if you want.

There is no separate option for adjusting shadows and light which has made me hesitant to use it.  Minx, you mention that there's no difference in quality. Do you mean if you turn the "lights and shadows" on the low setting?  I didn't notice much of a difference but,  I was expecting it to look worse so I turned it back up to high in the end.  Is it really not noticeable enough to bother with using high?

Another thing is that normal shadows look fine most of the time.  Shadows on the ground from objects are smooth and normal. That just makes it hard to believe it could be hardware related (RAM or otherwise).  Otherwise, it would probably go for all shadows and not just sim related ones.
