26  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Feb MATY "More Awful Than You" CC Treasure Hunt: Pants! on: 2007 February 12, 01:57:47
Ta-daa! These pants come from Simsconnection, and are called 'Club Pants'.

Perhaps they are called 'Club Pants' because looking at them is like being hit with a club?

Perhaps, hehe! Grin Hard, and on the eyes too.
27  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Feb MATY "More Awful Than You" CC Treasure Hunt: Pants! on: 2007 February 10, 01:47:12
Good, good... The uglier they are, and on less purpose, the better.

Edited to add my entry:

Ta-daa! These pants come from Simsconnection, and are called 'Club Pants'. While the colour choices are tacky to say the least, and the belt thingies look like they were painted on, I think the worst aspect is still the mesh... Sharp-angled muscles, anyone? It may be just sharp-angled fat, too.

At least they're free.

OOH, I love the little girl's hair!  Anyone know where it came from?

Isn't it this one?
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Rating stuffs, on: 2007 January 17, 07:19:51
I once got in a heated discussion on the BBS too. I made a point about there being more than two different ratings. In the end, I don't think they believed me. Smiley Personally I would love it if the ratings were used the way they should though. I pride myself in very rarely giving out 1 or 5 star ratings (this is on the official site). I try to rate everything I download, but obviously that doesn't always happen. I also try to keep to the guidelines, or the hover texts or whatever. Some are really very descriptive, like "Ehhh..." for 3 stars Smiley Maybe it should be "Ughhh... What is that?"

What I do very much object to is the contests ("Coolest avatars YAY!"). The prizes always seem to be something like 5 star ratings on all your downloads. How fair is that?! I'm surprised they don't do something about that already. I'm naïve that way.

I have some stories on the Exchange, and I think one of them is five stars. Now I know it isn't that good (it's more like... 4 1/2 Wink), but I have to admit it feels nice  Grin

Oh, and:

I am wondering about the MTS2 "featureds" as well. It doesn't seem fair, there is a small clique of creators who seem to get featured over and over again…

Very true! Example: A month ago or so, Helaene's new clothing set (tunic-type shirts with jeans) got featured the minute it hit the site. I'm not saying her stuff isn't good, because it is, but it makes you wonder. I didn't think the set was that special. I mean do they pay to get featured? Who decides what gets featured and what doesn't?
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any logical way to get your neighborhood back in sync? on: 2007 January 16, 15:17:57
Well, first of all, good luck  Smiley I don't use the lot sync timer at all, but I have the Database that was mentioned before, and I LOVE it. Use it all the time, religiously. Grin

Anyway, I synchronised my neighbourhood some time ago "manually", meaning that the results were not perhaps as accurate as when using the LST (I imagine). I had the advantage of playing a legacy neighbourhood, so I timed everything else after the legacy family. I also only have one founding family. What I did was just jot down who belonged to which generation (ie who should be roughly the same age, or at the same life stage), and then just make the changes needed in the game. I had to kill a few of my favourite sims because I noticed that they were cousins to some legacy sims of mine, who had died a long time ago. I guess that's kind of obvious to you, but... Just in case you were trying to get out of the killing.  Wink Just do it, I say.  Smiley

I actually enjoyed the synchronisation process very much. It was a lot of work, but afterwards... ahhhh. There is actually a very useful thread at the Sims2Database forum here, whih is not about nh sync per se, but there are some very good tips about playing in an organised style. I learned a lot from that thread...
31  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bad gosub tree number errors - Absolution needed on: 2006 December 17, 09:46:23
I just went to MTS2 to see if she has anything to say about this, and in this is from her journal:

"While the hacked computer is now compatible with Pets, it is no longer compatible with OFB without Pets. (Destroys self-click pie menu, causes jump bug, Sim does not respond to command.)"

So my problem exactly.  Grin But now it's solved, thanks so much. Smiley
32  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bad gosub tree number errors - Absolution needed on: 2006 December 17, 09:31:55
Alright, sin number 3 it is. I'll remove it ASAP and never even dream about it again.  Undecided

Update:
That did the trick! Cheesy Thanks a million! Everything seems to be back to normal. I don't know why the computer would do this though, because supposedly nothing changed when I cleaned up my downloads?
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Bad gosub tree number errors - Absolution needed on: 2006 December 17, 08:54:58
Gotcha. And there it is. Don't have any hacks that have to do with babies, only making them. Smiley But I'll remove both of the conflicting hacks and see if it helps.

I was just in the game trying to figure it out and found out with a test family that there's also something wrong with the graphics (Excuse my technical terminology). When I hover over a sim, their plumbbob disappears and their shirts (Maxis ones, too) wrinkle and un-wrinkle. Does that make any sense?

Update:
The error pops up even when a sim is selected and I hover the mouse over them (while their plumbbobs disappear and shirts wrinkle). And this is after removing the two hacks!
34  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Bad gosub tree number errors - Absolution needed on: 2006 December 17, 00:23:33
I'm getting bad gosub tree number errors with two parents interacting with their toddler. When they hold the toddler, the adult sim is selected and I click on them, the error pops up. When I reset, the adult jumps away and the toddler ends up sitting on the floor. However, clicking on the toddler (while the adult is selected), does not result in this.
I exited without saving and haven't been to other lots, just this one.

I have Uni, NL, OFB, FFS + relevant patches.

My sins (in order of importance)

1. I've just cleaned up my Downloads folder. It took days. It was hard. But, everything comes with a price doesn't it? *sigh* I reinstalled everything I absolutely wanted to keep, but did not download anything new. I was extra careful with my hacks, and while I did re-download some of them, instead of copying them from the old DL folder, I'm quite sure I got the right versions of everything.
What I didn't bother downloading again was object recolours, walls, floors, and terrains. Yikes? Deleting stuff results in blue, blinking death? This particular family lost an eyeshadow but nothing else - don't know if that's relevant.

2. I may be consciously running two conflicting hacks, syberspunk's AdultsGoSteady and Squinge's EasierBreakUp. BUT have been doing that for a while now with no problems, AND they only said the marriage-traditional version of AGS conflicts with the other one (I have the normal version).

Can anyone tell me what I've done? And perhaps what should be done now? A hacks list is at hand if needed, as well as the error logs. Please tell me I haven't just wasted several days "re-organising" - turned oops, breaking it.  Undecided Replies are greatly appreciated!
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Face template #21 on: 2006 October 28, 12:22:44
Thanks for the demystification! I tested what you said, and sure enough - you were right! Grin It never occurred to me that genetics behave differently in CAS and in the game, but now that you pointed it out, it's obvious. Thanks again!
Now I'm just a bit embarrased for wasting a perfectly good rant.  Embarrassed
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Face template #21 on: 2006 October 27, 13:25:02
Yes, I know, but what I mean is that it would be nice if any kids of a #21 would look like it also as toddlers, kids, teens and elders. They do look like him for the adult period in their life, of course. At the moment any kids of a #21 look like a blend of the other parent and a randomly-chosen face template as toddlers, kids and so on. Then, when they reach adulthood, their looks completely change, and again, when they become leders, they change.

Am I still wrong?
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Face template #21 on: 2006 October 27, 11:00:29
So Shirley, possibly my most beautiful in-game born sim fell in love with the llama mascot. They married and because I felt dangerous, I decided to go ahead, defy all the unwritten rules of simming and see what their children would look like in CAS. Shirley is not very different from a #27 face, so it should have been easy... What I didn't know was that the #21 face, which he of course had to be, doesn't actually have toddler, child, teen and elder variations! Instead the game throws in the most hideous face for those stages! That's the most stupid thing I ever heard of!  Angry What's the point of having that template in the first place?!? And how realistic is that, huh? Huh? I put it to you, Maxis: who turns into a completely different looking person for one period in their life, and then back again? Nobody, that's who!

Anyway... Call me Ms Opinion-Wise Challenged, but I think #21 is a handsome face, at least on a male sim, with black hair, medium skin ... Calvin Klein aftershave... All of that. I would reeeeally like to have his kids look like him and not that #18 monstrosity. Is there anything that can be done? I haven't heard of any replacement templates for these toddler/elder stages, have you? I don't know how to make these replacements myself, not yet, that is, but I'm a fast learner.  Smiley It shouldn't be too difficult, should it?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it does. (Yes you did) You can even take two sims that don't live together to get married, and when it is done, it will add the other sim to the family right there at the community lot.

What altar is this? The one I see at MTS2 isn't set up to work on community lots... the posts suggest fixing it yourself and/or change lot zoning to get it onto a community lot. Is that the one you mean? (I can change lot zoning, but I thought that didn't work) <confuzzled>

Start out with a community lot, fix it the way you want it, then change lot zoning, exit, re-enter, add the altar and anything else you want, then change it back.

Would like to add that IndigoRage has not updated the altar for OFB (apparently he's working on it), so the sims still change into the default wedding clothesSad Just found out by the trial and error method...

40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Business owner shows as customer on: 2006 September 22, 08:13:52
Hi!

Either I'm the first to encounter this annoyance or I seriously can't search... How can I convince my game that my community lot business owner is not a customer? Her face keeps showing in the customer loyalty menu with that little shopping trolley. It isn't normal is it? Or if it is, then I'm changing my question to "how can I convince all my other business managers to show as customers". As far as I know, this isn't causing any trouble really, it just annoys me. She can do all the stuff a manager should be able to do though, it's just that her face is in that stupid customer row.

I tried making her unselectable and selectable again, and deleting her, but it wasn't any use. Oh, and forcing error on her. When I brought her back, there she was again, indeed a customer. I have all the expansions + patches.
41  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Missing neighbor for data access" error log on: 2006 September 15, 09:30:01
Hurray! It did work! Stupid me. I never actually removed the attraction token thingy manually in SimPE, since it didn't come up on the painting thingy. Finally I did and it worked like a charm! Thanks a million, and sorry, my bad.  Roll Eyes
42  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: "Missing neighbor for data access" error log on: 2006 September 14, 17:59:45
*Sigh* Okay. I wouldn't have posted in this thread, but I have the exact same problem and I have a chronic fear of starting new threads.

So a couple of days ago I deleted a bunch of characters. They were mainly duplicates and random CAS sims who I had just created to test something, but there might have been some characters that had met some of my sims. I know it was bad  Embarrassed but I couldn't stand seeing them in my Sim Browser, staring at me accusingly, with their stupid goggly eyes and that knowitall-smile and those ...anyway, I followed instructions and copied my character files, so that's all fine.

The next time I played the game, a cashier in my home business started jumping. She would charge the customers, but jumping away from and back to the register all the time. Also, a after while some of the customers started freezing. I couldn't speak to them or anything, the actions just canceled themselves in the queue. So, I go to debug mode and the "missing neighbor for data access" error comes up for the cashier.

So, I did what you told LeaveMeAlone to do, ie downloaded Squinge's painting and went to the cashier's house to try it out. I would only get the Memories option in the menu, no Tokens menu. Well, I removed all of her attraction memories, but it didn't help. Also, her plumbob kept disappearing and appearing again. When I turned debug mode on at her place I got the same error.

What do you suggest I do?

I have all of the expansions + patches.
