TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Empty Common areas
|

Would anyone know what would cause playables to stop showing up in common areas? I've taken out all hacks and they still do not show up. I even went so far as to reinstall AL. They used to drive me crazy playing on the playground, in hot tubs or swimming pool, monopolizing the pool table or chess tables, at all hours now there is no one, ever.

I don't know if this is borked or EA's stupid logic, or are those the same thing? Anyway, I only get the walk to school/work option for a brief moment right before the bus/carpool arrives. Shouldn't you be able to walk to work/school up to an hour before they come, then not get the bus/carpool? They wouldn't actually have to leave that early but have the option show up so the bus/car pool doesn't show up. It is really irritating to have them walk to work while the carpool honks their horn for an hour and the kid ignores the walk to school command and gets on the bus. (I play with free will off) Also, is there any specific 'rules' for the 'read to sleep' action? I only have one family that gets the option for their child; the other 3 families don't have the option. The room configuration is pretty much the same, there are no obstructions on the floor or anything I can see that would prevent it. ETA: I'm playing a trailer park. One family had a baby. I exited that family and went to play another one in the same park and the baby shows up in this family's thumbnails. WTF! I clicked on the baby to see where it would take me and this is what I found: The baby was doing smustle-like movements. When I went back to the baby's family it was in its crib.

I'd like for the landlord/lady to stop using playables trash compactor. He/she just barges in and uses the compactor all the time. If the compactor is blocked he dumps the trash on the floor and leaves it for my sim to clean up.

That could be a work-around. I'll try it. I would think that as long as it doesn't include the apartment door in any way it may work. You probably couldn't move anything within the area but that would be okay. Thanks

Wow. I searched but didn't come up with anything. Anyway, it was pointed out to me that they are not really broken but since the game sees them as walls (without doorways) everything outside the 'fences' is seen as common area. If you changed it so the game didn't see them as walls they wouldn't work at all, would they?

You know those little dividers in fences that came with Pets? They don't work with apartments or trailers. It's not a big deal but I like to use them to divide dining and desk areas when I want an open look but don't want stupid sims reading at the table or desk. Worked great, until now. It's okay with houses so it must have something to do with apartment doors. You don't suppose EA borked something else, do ya?

Thanks. I'll check that out. I just played another family in the same complex and immediately got the message about the child missing school and not doing well. I had not played this family yet and it was only 9:00 am on move-in Monday. Poor kid hasn't had a chance to go to school yet.

I'm playing an apartment complex with children. My playable child got on the school but but the others did not. Okay. When 3:00 came around I get pop-ups telling me all the other children lost a grade because they missed school! WTF. I can't control whether or not they go to school. Is this another "feature" of EA?

Thanks, I'll try the no-parent greet but the real problem isn't children greeting parents. The problem is any sim returning from work, some don't even have kids and their aspiration doesn't seem to matter. They just stand beside the car cheering. One guy even lives alone so I guess he's just cheering for the neighbor's sake.

Ever since installing Seasons there seems to be an increase in the cheering when sims return from work. They stand beside the car for a half an hour yelling and posturing. It is really annoying. They do it everyday, not just for promotions. Is there a hack for this or could someone make one? I've searched and searched and can't find anything. Thanks

I've had 3 different bed fires. The beds just burst into flames, or the sims in them do. The first time it happened, the old couple died, after that I installed sprinklers above all beds so the other 2 times it happened no one died.

The only oddities I've noticed so far are the excessing bathing/showering and the excessing water-balloon pranking. I'm playing autumn but I thought water-balloons were supposed to be a summer thing. I also don't have the "Try On" option in community lot clothing racks and no "Outerwear" option but I'm going through my hacks right now to see which one could be the cause of that particular problem. Oh, and the autonomous changing into outerwear when it's not cold outside.
The excessive water balloon prank is annoying but I think it is a feature. The bathing/showering is due to heat (I think). Is their thermometer in the red? Mine were all red all the time and I finally traced it to the InTeenimaor. I removed that and everything is fine now as far as the bathing goes anyway. I've noticed in a dorm I'm playing a couple of the girls (non-playable dormies) keep fighting each other and the cafeteria worker, slapping, shoving and actually fighting constantly. I've never had that happen before.

I want a no-autonomy-fridge action that works. I know Inge's not updating her stuff anymore, and while her no-autonomy fridge technically works in the game, once you put leftovers in it, you can't take them out again. I'm so used to using that hack that it just astonishes me how often my sims now go to the fridge to cook a meal only for themselves when there are hungry kids in the house. AND they don't autonomously use the leftovers, so unless I catch them in the act, cancel the action and tell them to, the leftovers never get used. I've been turning the fridge around so they can't get to it, but that's just a pain. I used to use Inge's fridge but now I use the no autonomous cooking one and it still works in my game. If they can't autonomously cook thay don't need to go to the fridge. I think it's by Squinge.

The food sparkles are a feature of the EP. It is supposed to indicate food made with home grown, or home caught food, and have a higher hunger value.
I don't have either home grown or home caught food and my daughter's food doesn't sparkle on her computer. Anyway, all my food sparkles and none of hers does.
