It was.  But, the cheap showers have a random chance of giving a negative moodlet, whereas the expensive ones have a random chance of giving a positive moodlet.  I would have thought that an extra 5-10 minutes in the car would have been worth it for a +10 rather than a -10 mood.(I just pulled that number out of my ass, I have no idea what the boost is for those moodlets)

Why don't you replace the cheap showers in the swim center with the expensive ones?
52  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 October 31, 17:22:44
Did I ever get round to requesting something that would stop parents going into their teen's bedroom to use his desk?   Can we have something in AM that detects if there is a bed in the room and makes all the stuff in it unattractive to anyone but the owner of a bed in the room?   Ie so the other sims will use it if there is no other option, but otherwise will favour an object not in that other person's bedroom?

I second that request. I've wanted something like assignable desks for a long time.
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Cannot get some sims pregnant on: 2009 October 27, 18:43:42
How many people do you have in each household? I think the maximum is 8, and even with overstuffed houses enabled, I think I heard you can't actually get pregnant once you hit 8.

I've had over-stuffed houses have babies without a problem. One of them had a baby when I wasn't controlling them.

I thought I found somewhere a post that said awsomemod would not allow your sim to purchase the lifetime wish change reward, but i can not find that anywhere. The reason i wish to know if that is true (and my searched come up with out anything useful) is that Id like to know if my game is bugged or if this is a feature of the mod. Ive tried a few time to purchase that reward and it will give the pop up to choose the new lifetime wish, I can choose one but it will not change it.  This has been occuring for some time, with each new version of the mod and before I added the stand alone indie story mod. Would some one please point me to the thread if it exists to where it says if this is a feature or correct me if it is a bug.

I've noticed, at least in my game, that I can only change the LTW once. After that, I can still access the 'change lifetime wish' reward but it will not change so, if I've changed it once by any method, I can not change it again.

ETA: I forgot to mention - With the SuperComputer, I can change LTW as many times as I like. It's only with the reward that it can't be changed more than once. It also can't be changed if you've tried changing it in CAS then try the reward. The reward counts the 'trying' as a change and won't let you do it again.  Huh

Mine go home after saying, "I'm done here." And, they collect their $125 for doing nothing!
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Maids doing nothing at all on: 2009 October 20, 01:58:53
That's a problem I've had off and on (mostly on) since the beginning and I've never been given a reason or solution. It's not a pause because everyone else does what they are supposed to be doing, just maids and babysitters stand around doing nothing. Hiring/firing doesn't work for me. I've stopped hiring them and just make someone in the house 'neat' and have them clean the house. I also give them the 'speedy cleaner' reward. Babysitters are a different problem, I just make someone stay home all the time.  Angry

Knock on wood...everything is working pretty well in my game. I update AM religiously, so no problems there except one little thing. I noticed that suddenly bills aren't payed automatically and I have unified billing enabled. I get the pop up that the bills are due and can click to pay them immediately which is fine but I thought they were supposed to be paid automatically. Did this get changed? No problem if it did as long as I still get notified. Just wondering.  Roll Eyes

I noticed this, too. I didn't get a notice until the one that says the repo man is on his way. Angry
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: OMG the lag is unbearable!! on: 2009 October 18, 20:50:30
Using 3booter and the fps plugin, I get a happy 30fps, everything is pretty, and my card never gets over 60'c unless it's a hot day. The only time I get abnormal spikes in heat is when using the launcher, as that shows 1500 - 3000+ fps.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT 1Gb DDR2. It overheated, I think. It made a whirring motor noise that was incredibly annoying and when I took it out it was very warm so I put the old one back in. The company is replacing this one as it was only 3 months old. Could you explain what you mean by "using 3booter and the fps plugin" for a not so technical player? I'd like to prevent the problem from occuring again. Thanks.

Sounds interesting. I'm not usually into challenges but may give this a try.  Wink
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wonky Colored Question Mark Tiles on: 2009 October 01, 20:23:21
Here's the latest from my game. I play with lots of mods and CC but nothing new recently except the latest AM update.  I completely bulldozed the art museum and Goth residences. I rebuilt the art museum on the same lot and it is okay. I don't remember exactly where the Goth house was but I know I haven't built anything near there. I rebuilt the Wolff residence after tearing it down wall by wall (didn't want to lose the beautiful vista moodlet) and rebuilt it. I had removed all walls, floor tiles and even went over the entire lot with new terrain paint. I just went to play that house and nearly every surface, floors and walls, are riddler.  Angry   Apparently, bulldozing works, tearing down doesn't. I'm going to evict that family and bulldoze the lot as I now have the vista moodlet restorer thing.

I used 'stupid' on one sim and it took her 8 hours to do her homework!  Shocked
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wonky Colored Question Mark Tiles on: 2009 September 28, 06:08:50
There's program at MTS2, link here:  http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=366436 that replaces the Beautiful Vista moodlet now.

On another note, after you bulldozed the lots (specifically Goth Manor), did you put another house on the lot?  Did that eliminate the riddler tiles?  Just curious if they will reappear (perhaps somehow tied to the lot?).

Thanks for the link. I'd missed that one.

I didn't rebuild on the Goth lot but I have rebuilt the Wolff lot and so far so good.

ETA: I also rebuilt the Art museum on the same lot. It's okay, too.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Wonky Colored Question Mark Tiles on: 2009 September 27, 22:25:03
I had those tiles in the Wolff and Goth houses and the Art Museum/Gallery and I didn't do any alterations to any of them. In fact, I had never even been to the Goth house. I finally bulldozed most houses in the neighborhood and the museum. I didn't bulldoze the Wolff house because I heard that deletes the 'beautiful view' moodlet for those. I'm planning to tear down the Wolff house 'brick by brick' and rebuild.
65  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Question on AM on: 2009 September 27, 22:18:50
Did you enable debugging commands and testing cheats in the AM configuration? Some things are 'shift-click,' some are 'control-click' and some are 'control-shift-click.' The testing cheats are typed in the cheat box.
66  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: New AwesomeMod Request Thread on: 2009 September 26, 21:36:32
I'd like something to stop that annoyingly stupid laugh for no reason. I thought it was trait related, like 'good sense of humor' but I stopped using that one and they still do it.

68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: DC Backup on: 2009 September 19, 04:41:58
Thanks, again. I'm never sure what I can delete and not bork the game. I don't like a lot of 'stuff' that is useless hanging around. I like things neat (except, like you, I see no point in making beds)
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: DC Backup on: 2009 September 18, 23:31:42
Thanks, JM.  Can I delete all 'saves' except the current one?
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / DC Backup on: 2009 September 18, 22:26:51
What is the DC Backup folder in the documents folder? Is it safe to delete its contents? Also, I am assuming when someone states it is safe to delete all caches that it is safe to delete the contents of the World Cache folder and the DC Cache folder. Or do I assume too much?
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Small Cabin with a View on: 2009 September 18, 21:49:19
RE: backless shower.  I have the one from MTS and it works fine. Although it was cloned from the cheap shower it shows the expensive one in the catalog and has the hygiene boost of the expensive one (9) as opposed to the cheap one (7). I haven't had any negative moodlets from it.  The things I don't like about it are you can only enter it from the left and it is hard to click on as you have to have the cursor on the faucet or shower head. I use it only when the other shower would be visually in the way. Normally, I use the combo tub/shower. (I normally play a house from only one direction, the front. Don't like having to turn it to see things.)

Thanks for the roof tutorial, I always hated that half roof line on the side.

I like the cabin. I normally change things a bit to suit me and I like smaller houses. It takes sims too long to walk from one end to another in big houses.

I camouflage the column overhang with a bush if it bothers me but normally it doesn't because you can't see it unless you are really close.

73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Work performance issue on: 2009 August 29, 01:57:25
Common sense to you, maybe, but it doesn't make sense to me to have poor job or school performance when you haven't even been there yet regardless of when you get the job or age up!  This only makes sense in EA's world. Anyway, thanks for replying.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Work performance issue on: 2009 August 29, 00:40:47
I have searched but didn't find my exact problem. I keep getting "Joe better improve his work performance or he will face disciplinary action" or some similar wording. Anyway, he just got the job and it says he has 1 day and 3 hours (approx) before he's even supposed to go to work.  Why is this?  I have had the same thing happen with a child who just aged from toddler after school started (say 10:00 am or so) and they get a warning about skipping school and failing grades.  Huh
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Standing around looking stupid on: 2009 August 20, 23:48:45
I'm really, really sick of sims standing around after they have been queued to do something. It takes 20 minutes to get a toddler in the highchair and another 20 to give him a bowl of food. They stand in front of a baby's crib for 15 minutes before picking the baby up to change, feed and snuggle. It takes some of them 45 minutes to get out of the house to go to work or school. And, most irritating are the stupid maids and baby sitters. Some maids stand outside the house for 4 hours then say they are done and leave! I had a babysitter go outside and cover her ears when the baby cried! The really stupid thing is you still have to pay them after you fire them!  Is there any hope of a fix for these issues?  I know it is stupid EA's design or programming stupidity but I'd sure like a fix.     Angry  Cry
