TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Odd things I noticed about Seasons
|

I've played since yesterday and have encountered a few annoyances. 1. Constant showering or bathing. 2. In UNI dorm students only have the choice of clean up or resume cooking when trying to get them to eat even though the food is laid out by the cook same as always. 3. Toddlers levitating. 4. Food sparkles (probably due to a food related hack). 5. Random puddles in the house (no pets and it's not raining). The constant showering/bathing is the most annoying thing. ETA: I just realized where the random puddles are coming from - stupid autonomous water balloon throwing!

Has anyone seen a hack for napping on beds? If not, can anyone make one? Like sleeping on top the bed covers in clothes, not pajamas, like on the sofa.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / autonomous behavior hack
|
on: 2005 December 21, 17:14:22
|
I'm looking for a hack that will cause autonmous actions to NOT be dropped when an order is queued. For example: the sim is autonomously taking out the trach and you order them to clean up dishes (whatever) and they just drop the trash where they stand. I'm looking for something that will allow them to complete the task at hand BEFORE going on the queued one. If I want the autonomous action stopped, I can still X it. Does anyone know if such a hack exists?

I'm trying the mausoleum approach first. I like the tombstones for a cemetary look but the ghosts were driving me crazy. Thanks, all.

Is there a way (or hack) to get rid of ghosts? I don't want to delete the tombstones just turn off the annoying ghosts.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Please suggest a good Sims 2 Video Card

I just bought an Nvidia GForce FX 5200 with 256Mb Ram and it works great. I bought it on eBay for $49 plus shipping. My system is not top of the line by any means. 2.6 ghz processor, 512 ram and 80 gig HD. The video card was easy to install. I haven't had any parties so I don't know how many people I can have. This is the first time I've been able to enable the special events camera, though.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Preferrable Houses
|

I don't think I've ever left a house 'as is.' I always change something. I've downloaded some houses that had rooms with no doors and other strange things. Maxis houses are the worst. The first thing I do after starting over is remodel all the houses in all the neighborhoods. (I know, kind of weird but I enjoy it.) I'd like to meet whoever designs the housed for them, they are so bad. I try to keep the same outside walls but move all the inside ones to make them livable.

The first two pregnancies I had after installing NL, the mothers died before they were even showing. I mean, they got out of bed, grabbed their throats and died before I even noticed their hunger was way down, though not in the red yet. I was able to plead with the grim and get them back. It seems that their needs deteriorate much faster since NL.

I normally prefer to build my own but sometimes I get lazy and look for houses to download. I look for something unusual, though not weird. Usually, I remodel and redecorate them so I don't really care if they are furnished or not.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Speed not working
|
on: 2005 September 22, 03:45:34

The clock won't speed up. It just runs on normal speed all the time even when the fastest is turned on. Anyone else had this problem. It just started on mine today.
Edit: I just checked and there were several invisible people on my lot so I cleared them off and it seems to be working again. I don't know if this is a new form of the slow-down bug. The game is new so can't be generations or memories. ??

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why don't my custom skins show up?
|
on: 2005 September 18, 02:48:29

No, I didn't get a new burner but I'm about ready to. This one is supposed to play DVDs and doesn't anymore and it doesn't read some discs that it used to.
Putting the skins into a newly created 'SavedSims' folder worked. Thanks, I now have all my skins back. Yeah!

I had backed everthing up on discs because I had to reformat my harddrive. When I went to reload them all the discs were blank. ?? I had some I had put on disc in May so I reloaded them. Everything shows up but the skins.

|

I've tried everything I can think of and I can't get them to show up. Objects show up. All hacks seem to work. Walls and floors are OK but no skins or genetics. Anyone know of a solution. Please, I miss my skins!

For me, everything is working fine. I put in all my downloads. So far, the hacks seem OK, the custom content, too but none of the skins or genetics show up. I don't have anything in subfolders so I don't know what the problem is. Anyone else had this problem.

I don't understand what you mean by 'as designed'. Can't these things be changed? The serving only 6 people meals when there are 8 allowed in the household is annoying and ridiculous.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Collections
|
on: 2005 September 12, 22:17:17

Well, I was hoping you could put stuff into a collection, then remove it from the general catalog so you didn't have to scroll through all the stuff everytime. I have a collection of vintage and older clothing that I don't use much and wanted to get it out of the regular catalog and just have it in a collection for when I needed it. Oh, well, wishful thinking I guess. Guess I'll have to tade ZZ's route and organize all my downloads so I can take out what I don't use often and only put it in when I want it.

I answered my own question. When you delete something, (in clothing, anyway) it is gone. If you put an item in a collection, then delete the item from the main catalog, it is gone from both, totally. I'm sure it is the same with other collections. To me, that kind of defeats the purpose of the collections.

I leave it on because I use it alot and I don't want to have to type it in all the time or bring up the cheat window. I'm always moving something around just like in my house.
